    Fly tying starts at 18:49. Great tie, and always solid information. BUT, I do have to smile when fly fishermen choose one thing that crosses the line as far as tools go.
    We spend hundreds of dollars on our vises and tools to make the art of fly tying easier. Strongest threads, hooks! The best bobbins, hair stackers, dubbing loop twisters etc... but if you use a tool to put material into a dubbing loop, this is where the line is drawn!! I find this so comical.
    This reminds me of fly fishermen for trout. Spend thousands of dollars on state of the art fly rods, and reels. Invisible flurocarbon leaders and tippets. Latest and greatest in flies with synthetic materials. BUT, if you pinch on an indicator while nymphing...oh my god, this is not fly fishing!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
    We really take ourselves way to seriously. I say, do what makes you happy and what helps get the job done. I am sure there are old old fly tiers that think using a fly tying vises is cheating. And using a fly rods and reel is cheating!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 come on!!

    Gunnar, could you please share the complete weight of the fly? While you mentioned that it's no more than 1 gram, as we don't have access to the same beads as you, I'm curious to know the approximate weight. This information will help me come up with an alternative solution. Thank you!

    That was 55 minutes well spent. Once my wife, stepson and I get setup in our new little house 🏡 and out of this small two bedroom apartment I definitely want to start building flies again and trying them out. We will be in Ohio and there are a few musky lakes nearby, plus bass and other species.

    Awesome video and tie. Hey could one turn the loop that is hanging down 90º so that a regular hook could work? I could drop a 6/0 hook on there then.

    • @gray1738
      @gray1738 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could but most fly tying hooks have small eyes so they don't move freely with split rings. I used pr320s for a while then switched to Owner Zo-Wire inline singles and noticed a higher hook up %.

    Pretty sick man. Has your success with this fly been in still water or does it need some current?

    Giving streamers sexualized names was in the past. Now we are naming them like Arab Kings :). Looks like a great pike/musky chew toy. Great tie and description Gunnar

    Now I just have to buy all the tube gear.
