Anodising Aluminium using the Electrolysis of Dilute Sulphuric Acid - Anodizing

- Using simple electrolysis of dilute sulphuric car battery acid to anodise a small aluminium rod. I then use an organic dye (cheap clothes dyes work) to dye the part blue.
I nearly didn`t post this video as I made a fatal error in not having any lead for my electrode which slowed down the entire process! I did however get some oxidation which is shown by the dyeing process at the end. I used nickel plated crocodile clips which really didn`t help!
Thank u so much for showing us this process as it helped me to understand this process properly.
Nd i think its more intresting to do practicals instead of learning the concepts..☺☺
That's really very helpful to me as practicals make us understand things more easily than that of theoretically.
Please I have a question, do aluminum dyeing, aluminum dyeing, I did not find it in my country, thank you
Why did you have to keep the system cool?
thankyou
Hey can I know what kind of cleaning proccess u have undergone in a detailed way... Please provide ur email ID as I am left with some doubts
venkat sai I cleaned the part in water and then dipped the part for about 30 seconds in 1 mol/dm3 sodium hydroxide. However, the first time I didn’t even bother with this cleaning step!
@@craynerd my aluminium sample is full of carbon dust so I had cleaned it with ultrasonic cleaning but I am not getting proper results...as the sample loosing it's weight post anodising... Though I maintained the right polarity...so I have an opinion of sample loosing it's dust inside the solution .dont know where it is going wrong ...any suggestions
I used about 0.5 mol/dm3 but higher would be better. Carbon electrodes should work.
Can i get ur email so that i can send my result for u and also the pictures... Can i?
And also what should i do for aluminium before starting electrolysis? Immerse in sodium hydroxide or just clean it with sandpaper is enough?

What is the concentration of sulphruic acid? And can i use the aluminium can? And also use carbon to replace lead... Is it function well?
