iirc when you throw your pokemon out in the "lets go mode" aka the auto battle mode they WILL NOT attack pokemon that are shiny, sooooo assuming your mon is strong enough you can just wipe everything while searching for even more rolls.
@TiltedDolphin you need to defeat the first 60 pokemon in a mass outbreak, no matter what it'll say the mass outbreak is reduces when you do this but I only noticed a few less spawn and it's best way to increase your shiny chance

This is a good spot to use the "isolated" method. Try and find an area where very few Pokemon spawn, including the one you're looking for, and use that to find your outbreak.

simplified: if a pokemon can be in a mass outbreak (which you can check with serebii), go to a tile on the map where it spawns. then from there, timeskip 1 day forward and see if they spawn anywhere on the map
Yeah but there's only ~120 Pokemon per outbreak, so if you did keep attacking Pokemon you thought were shiny that weren't, eventually you'd kill the outbreak if you're Really unlucky. An ideal method (like a filter or smth) would be useful even if you go way way Way over shiny odds

I say give Flittle a shot if you want one. I did its outbreak and the green pops really well and even from a decent distance despite being such a small part of its body.
Hey Austin, you don't have to actually change the date to change outbreaks. Just open the date change menu and hit the OK button and go back in game. Something about the system setting its date again refreshes both the outbreaks and the raids!
That's great! I'm not a fun of time skips since I prefer my pokemon to have the real catch date as well as it will mess up my Animal Crossing island even more than it is of a mess right now... so that information is fantastic thank you

Location 100% influences it. Stuck to one spot and saw the same pokemon, never changed. Started chamging locale, and immediately started getting frequent new pokemon for that position. Thanks for bringing this more to light
Something I hope to see in a DLC which we'll inevitably get is that there's gonna be a literal Mass Outbreak of Paradox Pokemon in the normal world. I mean, with the Zero Gate open in Postgame, they could climb up and leave "easily". Would be funny. In general I hope to see a lot of Area Zero related extra stuff. Rebattling/re-encountering the professor(s), deeper access to Area Zero for the eventual Dogs/Justice paradox, and perhaps even access to the time machine in the way Ultra Wormholes worked (so like, being able to go back.)
I don't think that we will see one day the Paradox Mass Outbreak soon. The time machine shouldn't work anymore since both the knowledge (AI Turo) and the material (Violet/Scarlet book) to make it work are no longer present in this time, and most unlikely to come back. And by the Zero Gate being open, do you mean the gate at the bottom of the Area Zero where the professor was ? If so, since the time machine doesn't work anymore, so they're won't be any Paradox pokemon leaving and making mass Outbreak. But if the scenario was a little bit different then that would be awesome I agree

not even colourblind but i still cant tell a different between normal slowpoke and shiny slowpoke.. i know shiny version a little bit brighter but sunshine in the game plays a role too thats why sometimes the pokemon looks darker or brighter at some point and its really confusing unless it sparkles when you battle them.
These videos have accidentally helped me find a shiny Pokemon before beating the game. My second shiny so far has been a Chansey I got while using a simple Normal Encounter sandwich to level grind Chansey outside of the Fairy Star Base, and on my first sandwich, I got a shiny. Gotta say, probably wouldn't have been bothered to do that if it weren't for these videos.

after I did my gym test for the water gym I checked the auctions again just to see and they were selling a set of 64 premier balls. Only cost me a few thousand to win too, I think I paid less than 100 per ball. Might want to look into that if you want to catch all your shinies in premier balls, if you haven't already.

I had to skip a year and a half for a Ralts outbreak.. so I assume that the smaller the area where the Pokémon spawns is, the lower your chances are to get an outbreak.

I discovered this a week ago oh and sandwiches with the type spawn helps a lot to if you want the outbreak and like you said depending where your standing the outbreak of the wanted pokemon might pop out example I standed close to where applin spawns in the desert and it came out after a few day skips

Same! Fellow colorblind person here. I am absolutely fucked when it comes to some of these. Like the ones that are yellow and their shiny is just a light green for example. I can't see it. Thankfully I can tell Rookidee apart because of the drastic difference in color, Shinx too, but Magikarp was strangely difficult because of how metallic it is. To me, it catches the light the same as the red ones so that shiny hunt SUCKED.
I was wondering if anyone else was having trouble getting herba mystica from 5 and 6 star raids. On my violet copy i’ve gotten a lot of herba mystica as i’ve done many raids but i’ve been playing through my scarlet copy and i’ve completed the game and post game and gotten no herba mystica at all. I’ve done many raids on my scarlet copy as well and I was wondering if this is a bug or if i’m just extremely unlucky. Does anyone have any solutions?

There are some I can see, but most of them I can't see at all and I wish so bad that they'll patch in an indicator to help us. Hey I have been trying to get a mass outbreak of Growlithe to spawn using this method but I am having zero luck. He has two spawn areas in his habitat and I have tried standing in the center of both and have skipped about 6 months of time day after day and I cant seem to get it. Any advice? Is there a special spot I can go to? Would greatly appreciate it!
Being someone who is colorblind I have had such a difficult time trying to even attempt to shiny hunt in this game, at some point during my play through I even bothered stopping to check if Pokémon are shiny because I probably would not be able to see the difference. If you put a gun to my head and told me to tell you which one of those gothitelle had a different color set of eyes I couldn’t do it, I even paused the video and got my face 2” from the screen and still had no idea how you could see that. I am colorblind however so I mean I guess it checks out💀
Flitle was the first shiny I got in the game. Noticed that the underneath was a slight different colour to what I was used to seeing, it isn't that hard when you know you're looking for anything other than a pink "underskirt"
My programmer brain is telling me that this is probably what’s going on: Active spawn/encounter tables are determined by your location on the map. Then when it rolls for mass outbreaks, it’s picking from active spawn tables instead of all possible ones (which leads me to believe this was an unintended bug that could be patched later depending on how much they care to patch something as minor as this considering the current state of the game)
Also, another note, I was literally starting to get discouraged and beginning to wonder how to get other Pokémon to spawn in outbreaks. Like, today. So, this is super timely and welcome. Thank you!

I would love to see a video on the best places for the isolated encounter method. Because even though I'm using serebii's interactive map I still have trouble determining which areas only spawn pokemon of a type.
@@komorebi3555 I have like right now I'm trying to get a shiny pawmi and I want a relatively large area to spawn more. But most areas it spawns in where it's the only electric type are small.
One important thing I don't think you picked up on is the spawns that happen within your tile that are rarer than the common ones all over the map will ONLY spawn next to you. So the tandemaus for instance would have only spawned next to you and not far away from you. The other outbreaks all over the map spawn regardless of where you are. With this information, you save time by just looking at the spawns around and you and not panning all over the map

And I get what you meant about "bad spots" for Mass Outbreaks in your other video about the subject ; I got a Charcadet spot that I'm doing rn, even tho the spot is half under the mountain bordering Area Zero, thus half of the Charcadets appear under it and I can't see them... Talk about a worse first Mass Outbreak shiny hunt :D
Love the colour blind support idea. When shiny hunting I specifically avoid certain pokémon just because I can't see the color difference in them lol sometimes if I think I see one and can't be sure I send my pokemon over in Auto Battle mode to check for me.
I think you might be onto something... I was messing with my outbreaks before I clicked on this video, I had saved in Area Zero, so my outbreaks weren't updating til I flew somewhere else, and it really does seem like wherever I flew to would affect which outbreaks spawned. I kept flying to Medali East (where I tend to always gravitate to) and kept getting Flittle, Bronzong, and Magnemite: outbreaks I always seem to get, and it was getting annoying. I tried flying to other places after watching some of this and I started seeing outbreaks I had never seen before.
I'm subscribing just because of this video. I can finally hunt a specific shiny that I've been resetting for since the game came out. Thank you for your hard work!
Playing exclusively in handheld mode on an old Switch, I gotta say it's really damn hard to see the difference in a lot of the Shinies, even if I take my time and look more closely. I suppose the easier method for "colorblind hunting" only works with a TV or PC monitor?

Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out my problem. I change the time and and my outbreaks and raids don't change I have tried it with and without internet connection and I'm changing it by day.
This is super interesting! Could you create a table that grids the map squares like Battleship and each pokemon can then be listed to which spawn squares. Then, it would be easier to figure out which pokemon would spawn in next and one over etc.

@@cynopedous4208 Just put a save after fainting the initial 60 for odds, then keep on battling them. If they run out reset and repeat until shiny.

Im glad i was able to help! A lot of those items are only used for competitive and not really useful in casual gameplay.

Being someone who is colorblind I have had such a difficult time trying to even attempt to shiny hunt in this game, at some point during my play through I even bothered stopping to check if Pokémon are shiny because I probably would not be able to see the difference. What do I do if my mass outbreak for the Pokémon I want is located on the great crater of Paldea? (I’m trying to get lechonk btw)
If you put a gun to my head and told me to tell you which one of those gothitelle had a different color set of eyes I couldn’t do it, I even paused the video and got my face 2” from the screen and still had no idea how you could see that. I am colorblind however so I mean I guess it checks out💀
Flitle was the first shiny I got in the game. Noticed that the underneath was a slight different colour to what I was used to seeing, it isn't that hard when you know you're looking for anything other than a pink "underskirt"

My programmer brain is telling me that this is probably what’s going on:
Active spawn/encounter tables are determined by your location on the map. Then when it rolls for mass outbreaks, it’s picking from active spawn tables instead of all possible ones (which leads me to believe this was an unintended bug that could be patched later depending on how much they care to patch something as minor as this considering the current state of the game)

Austin I just wanna say thank you so much for your coverage, Shiny hunting has now become my new therapeutic activity to help deal with stuff and your videos have been so helpful, I have literally managed to catch 6 shinies in 24 hours

I would love to see a video on the best places for the isolated encounter method. Because even though I'm using serebii's interactive map I still have trouble determining which areas only spawn pokemon of a type.
Try checking the pokedex to see where it spawns then go to serebii to see the other pokemon that also spawn there
@@komorebi3555 I have like right now I'm trying to get a shiny pawmi and I want a relatively large area to spawn more. But most areas it spawns in where it's the only electric type are small.
I’ll normally pop a basic encounter lvl one sandwich for that type, then go to those areas and check out the spawns before using my herbs mystica.
@@angelsnyder6381 if u have Violet use a electric sandwich and go to Area Zero in the cave where Iron Valiant spawn, there should be plenty of Pawmi

Had anyone gotten a Tinkatink outbreak? Those seem pretty tough to have spawn in
One important thing I don't think you picked up on is the spawns that happen within your tile that are rarer than the common ones all over the map will ONLY spawn next to you. So the tandemaus for instance would have only spawned next to you and not far away from you. The other outbreaks all over the map spawn regardless of where you are. With this information, you save time by just looking at the spawns around and you and not panning all over the map

And I get what you meant about "bad spots" for Mass Outbreaks in your other video about the subject ; I got a Charcadet spot that I'm doing rn, even tho the spot is half under the mountain bordering Area Zero, thus half of the Charcadets appear under it and I can't see them... Talk about a worse first Mass Outbreak shiny hunt :D

Love the colour blind support idea. When shiny hunting I specifically avoid certain pokémon just because I can't see the color difference in them lol sometimes if I think I see one and can't be sure I send my pokemon over in Auto Battle mode to check for me.

I think you might be onto something... I was messing with my outbreaks before I clicked on this video, I had saved in Area Zero, so my outbreaks weren't updating til I flew somewhere else, and it really does seem like wherever I flew to would affect which outbreaks spawned. I kept flying to Medali East (where I tend to always gravitate to) and kept getting Flittle, Bronzong, and Magnemite: outbreaks I always seem to get, and it was getting annoying. I tried flying to other places after watching some of this and I started seeing outbreaks I had never seen before.

Playing exclusively in handheld mode on an old Switch, I gotta say it's really damn hard to see the difference in a lot of the Shinies, even if I take my time and look more closely. I suppose the easier method for "colorblind hunting" only works with a TV or PC monitor?
I have tried this several times and it does not work at all.

Sad that a AAA company like Nintendo/GF still doesn’t have even the most basic of accessibility features like other game studios though. Not even an option to increase text size or textbox opacity either! And now no shiny sparkle animation in the overworld :(
Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out my problem. I change the time and and my outbreaks and raids don't change I have tried it with and without internet connection and I'm changing it by day.
Skip it to 11:59 PM so that the game actually has a chance to refresh everything once it reaches 12 AM

I got a Sylveon outbreak to happen today because I was standing in Alfornada and got the shiny too. It took some date skipping but it worked.

Could you create a table that grids the map squares like Battleship and each pokemon can then be listed to which spawn squares.
Then, it would be easier to figure out which pokemon would spawn in next and one over etc.
