    Keep this trick I devised years ago for the future when you do carbutator work..
    Try this... Heat the plastic tube from the carb cleaner spray with a lighter (about 1/4-1/2 inch from the end. Then pull on each end of the tube to stretch it. This makes the outer/inner tube diameter smaller and more of a pin point. When the melted plastic solidifies, use small wire clippers or nail clippers to snip the tube at the smallest diameter that still provides flow when spraying. The cleaner comes out like a pin point pressure washer and the shrunken plastic tube end fits inside whatever port your spaying thru.
    You can also do the same to create 90 degree angles in the plastic tube to spray sideways inside long venturi tubes.
    I used to make/keep custom tubes around for these situations. Hope this makes sense. BTW.... Great videos.

    I just finished rebuilding my sons 2003 CR85R from top to bottom, I havent messed with the carb really and it was working fine before the bottom end gave up! Now I have the bike all together again and got it running last night for its first startup. The issue is I have to hold the throttle open a bit to keep the bike running, and when I let off the bike dies as if I hit the kill switch. Do you know why this could be happening? It doesn't even sputter then die like its idling low, it just goes from a minor rev to dead!

    Regarding the TPS, could someone explain to me how does it work?. I understand that it is potentiometer sensing the throttle, but how it ended up adding more fuel? or it just takes information to the CDI?

    • @AAPEngineer
      @AAPEngineer 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It has nothing to deal with the fuel, so I suppose it sends the signal to the CDI, so the question now is what does the CDI whit this signal?

    • @spookyroofus
      @spookyroofus 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In a carbed bike, I think the TPS gets info that is useful to a number of other systems even though it's not about measuring fuel. Example: on a carbed bike with oil injection, the TPS info let's the system know how much oil to be adding to the mixture. I think. No pro here, but that's my understanding.

    2- my pilot jet was so blocked that I thought it was normal even though it does not make sense; they are jet comon now (telling myself).

      Take a piece of wire and twist it around the plastic tabs on the rubber boots. Plenty of videos on this on TH-cam. Pretty easy to fix

    Great video I’m trying to figure out what’s wrong with my 2003 cr125 because it will start first kick and run great for about ten minutes and then die does anyone no what’s wrong with it

      That sounds electrical. Once it dies test the stator and coil.

    nice explanation. Q: the needle valve rests in a brass cylinder that has a 1/2 dome screen on the intake side that needs cleaning. some carbs allow for these to come out for cleaning. my 07' WR has the cylinder pressed in apparently. there's 3 prongs that appear to be press fitted to hold it. when I went looking for access to the screen on the intake side by removing the center section of the carb I was disappointed to find that none exists, its a closed port that routes to the fuel hose. other then copious amount of carb cleaner and air is there an alternative to be ensure the screen is clear? I saw in another video that some of these have an oring. presuming that mine is pressed and perhaps there is none to compromise with carb cleaner?? th-cam.com/video/dl9NCzbYwkI/w-d-xo.html

    Hey man, great video. Just one thing... could you turn the audio volume up?? Im on mobile right now and can barely hear you at max volume on my phone. Remember, people can always turn you down. Harder to turn up without a bluetooth speaker to boost it.

    great vid but i would add one thing, if it aint broke dont fix it. i used too work next to a dirt bike shop and you cant imagine how many people took apart their carbs to clean them just because and then couldnt get the bike going again or blew up engines because they screwed up the fuel/air mix...
