Carly, I did one for my friend’s wedding so a big thank you for the tutorial. You make it look so effortless. I wish I could say it was a breeze but I guess it gets better with repetition and practice.
Carly, can you please tell me what kind of ruler you are using when you apply the transfers and where you got it? That looks like it would be very helpful. Thanks!
Hey Carly! When you have up to 150 guests to fit on a seating chart, what size font do you use for the names? What's the smallest size font you'd recommend?
Hi Ashley! I try to keep each name app. .5" or taller so they are easy to read. Use a larger piece, a second chart or go down to first names only if needed!
Thank you so much for making this video! Super clear and helpful! I printed a small section of my seating chart to test out font size and I noticed that the cut wasn't clean and font looks off. I looked at the uploaded canva file in the design space and when I zoomed in, the fonts are slightly distorted! Have you encountered this issue? The font in canva looks fine and I've cut text using the same font on design space and no issue. Seems like an importing issue even though I saved it in png format.
Hi Grace! You are so welcome! I'd try a thicker font or designing on Cricut Design Space. It seems to be able to handle more workload now with the recent updates.
Great tutorial, but what products do you use to clean the acrylic sheet? I found the Cricut transfer tape I use, leaves a sticky residue, Also, how do you remove the vinyl on acrylics when you do another project?
Thank you! Check out the transfer tape I like using in the description. If I have any residue left over I use a soft cloth a rubbing alcohol to clean! Heres how I remove vinyl from various materials: th-cam.com/video/s9gUK02EALc/w-d-xo.html
Hello, thank you so much for this tutorial. Very helpful. I’m planning on doing the seating t for my ‘s wedding. My only problem is everytime I upload it to design space, the letters get distorted. How do I go about this to continue? Hope you can help me.
Hi Carly! Love your tutorials! I just created mine but for some reason the letters look slanted when on the easel. I have triple checked and they are straight. Not sure if it’s an optical illusion. I did use a 1/4 inch thick acrylic sheet and did not paint the background. Thoughts?
Great video. At 1 inch a guest, do you have a guess on how big the vinyl will need to be if they have over 200 guest? I’m thinking they would need two signs
This is great! I never thought of doing it this way! I just got the pro acct but i cannot find the fonts you used. I need this by tomorrow and I am so frustrated. I already made this once on Design Space but the fonts aren't working out for me. I cut the trial sheet and its SO thin, i cannot transfer the letters! uhg!
Hi Carly, do you ever have brides with wonky table numbers? For example, table 1 has 6 guests and table 9 has 12, if so do you have her edit the seating arrangement so it’s all more even? And have you ever done one in alphabetical order?
Hi! I have around 150 guests and I am wondering what font size is the best? 12/11/10? Also Can I use one matt for the whole thing or do I need to buy 5-6? I know I will have to do it in sections as 150 name is alot. Thanks so much
Hi. I just came across this video. So helpful for me. My last sign to make for my wedding will be my acrylic seating chart. I have roughly 161 invited. Any suggestions on what size acrylic to purchase to put first and last names?
I designed these on Canva and to save an SVG with transparent background (to upload to Cricut Design Space) a Canva subscription is needed. Hope that helps!
Hi sorry if this is mentioned somewhere and I missed it, but what size do you recommend the names be so that it isn't a nightmare weeding them and can read it clearly?
Wooooowwwwww!!!! This was absolutely stunning!!! I absolutely love this and would want to do this for my own wedding! Just need to buy the acrylic and the correct size vinyl. I didn't know you can use Canva for a project like this... Question: for 150 guests, first and last name, how big of acrylic would you say I would need? We have 19-20 tables (8 people per table). I am thinking of adding the wedding party table to the sign as well. Thank you so much for sharing!!!
Hi Lacey! So happy you are hear! I can fit about 100-150 first + last names on a 24x48" depending on the design. You can always get larger sheets or split into two signs if needed!
@@CarlyKeller I was thinking that too about the 2 signs but I wanted to get it all on one sign if possible. So a 24x48 would work perfectly? Wow, that’s good to hear! Thank you so much for responding! ♥️
Hi carly, can you tell me how to keep the font you used in canva to design space, I'm trying to do the pacific beach font but when I upload my image into design soace form canva I changes the font
Hi Amanda! If you are saving as SVG or similar from Canva, it shouldnt change on Cricut. But if you are designing on both then both will need the same font installed! Basically making sure the font is uploaded to your computer for Cricut (restart Cricut after its downloaded) and also uploaded to Canva (via the Brand tab located on the left of the home page). Hope that helps!
Hey Carly, my daughter asked me to look into doing this for her daughter's wedding in October. What format is the document in that you open in Canva? I'm pretty new to cricut and cutting machines and canva:( any guidance is appreciated for this never too old to learn gma.:)
@@CarlyKeller thank you so much for the tip. The wedding has 300 guests and I'm not real sure how to figure what size a sign I would need, thinking about maybe 28-30 tables. Maybe it would be better to do two signs? Have you ever done a sign with that many tables. Starting to feel overwhelmed here and maybe beyond cricut newby status:)
Hi Carly, I hope you see this and can answer my question. Im making a sign for my best friend and whenever I download the canvas to Cricut the font for the names changes. How do I fix this?
Hi! Canva has done that before when I didn't have access to the font I wanted to use. Either it was included in the pro access or single purchase that I forgot to buy before downloading!
Hi Carly! I'm having issues slicing, do you have any troubleshooting ideas? I'm doing the same technique but the "slice" tool is greyed out...thank you!
I’m trying this right now and my letters keep pulling off when I peel the vinyl not needed I have it adjusted to a specific vinyl and all idk what To do
Hi Jocelyn you may need to add more pressure before your cut or try a double cut (after your cut is done and before ejecting, hit the Cricut “Go” button on your machine to do the exact cut again). It really helps when working with hard vinyl like in my gold foil video!
Any advice for how to fix my image in Cricut? I'm saving my image as instructed, but when I import it into Cricut, the text is blurry and not complete. I'm using Adore script and Calgary and both are "fuzzy" when imported into cricut
Do you ever have issues with the cricut cutting each individual letter and not the entire script font word? It also happened with a serif font "w." I'm ruining so much vinyl with this issue!
Hi Shawn! I just posted a quick video on the hinging method that could help. Make sure your using the right materials and a decently clean mat. All of my favs are linked in the video description!
I'd don't cut much smaller than this...just too difficult to work with. I think you'd need to use a company like Basic Invite to design and have them print on the acrylic. They are very reasonably priced!
Does it make a difference what size font you use when I created by input. I did a word document and did a copy/paste into canva. My font then once downloaded with no background came into design space fine but when I cut it the fonts were soo soo small. Yikes! I'm at a standstill. Does anyone have any suggestions? :(
Your image may have sized down when uploading to Cricut Design Space. Try adding a placeholder the size of your material you are applying to (for instance mine would be a 24x48" box) then resize the image as needed. Like this th-cam.com/video/ONaGgbpqA6k/w-d-xo.html
Here are a few tips that seems to help! Use a clean mat, use the proper materials (sometimes off brand is better, see my favs in the video description), check to make sure there is nothing caught in your blade and replacing the blade when needed. Also hand slicing between each name so you can weed each one by one. Hope that helps!
I watched this a few months ago and it’s my sisters wedding in one month and I am on cricut duty! Thank you for being so detailed!
Carly, I did one for my friend’s wedding so a big thank you for the tutorial. You make it look so effortless. I wish I could say it was a breeze but I guess it gets better with repetition and practice.
Glad it was helpful! You're right, the first few are always the hardest!
You’re very talented and thank you!
Carly, can you please tell me what kind of ruler you are using when you apply the transfers and where you got it? That looks like it would be very helpful. Thanks!
When you do these on plywood, do you aerosol spray aerosol to seal? Worried the letters will come up during transport... really great tutorials!
Oh Ehm Gheeee!!!!!!!!!THANK YOU THANK OU FOR THIS!you make look easy I hope to be able to do this.
You can do it!!! 🙌🙌
Beautiful!

At the 9:54 mark you have (it looks like a weighted straight edge??) do you have a link for that? Or where I can find it?
Great tutorial, but what products do you use to clean the acrylic sheet? I found the Cricut transfer tape I use, leaves a sticky residue, Also, how do you remove the vinyl on acrylics when you do another project?

Carly, any suggestions/tips on how to keep your vinyl straight? Thank you!
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you
So I tried this and designed everything in Canva but when I brought it into design space, the letters were all butchered ?
Hi Carly! Love your tutorials! I just created mine but for some reason the letters look slanted when on the easel. I have triple checked and they are straight. Not sure if it’s an optical illusion. I did use a 1/4 inch thick acrylic sheet and did not paint the background. Thoughts?
Hi! Thank you so much :)) Are you using the hinge method to apply the decals? The thickness and clear background shouldn't effect the alignment
Awesome video!!!! What is the thickness of the acrylic piece? I must have missed that!!
Thank you! The ones hanging I do 1/8" and 1/4" for the leaners 👌
Hey Carly which acrylic paint do you use ? Any recommendations for good acrylic paint ?
Carly - What is the ruler like item that you are using to hold the vinyl down?
How do you make a sign stand upright? Vertically? What kind of backing? Also thanks for your amazing videos! I’ve been binging 😂
How do you get it to peel up easily from the wood? I'm always having difficulty on wood.
Great video. At 1 inch a guest, do you have a guess on how big the vinyl will need to be if they have over 200 guest? I’m thinking they would need two signs
This looks really good but its only one evebt use, so how do you make this reusable?

9:40 at this point you just peeled off the transfer paper with no letters falling off, how did you make it so no letters fell off?
Is there a certain transfer tape that you like that you'd suggest?
Great video!! Thanks so much for sharing. How do you remove the vinyl to prepare the sign for your next client?

Carly Keller Awesome...thanks!!
We have 180 guest roughly what size sign would you recommend? Is 24" in width wide enough or should we go wider?
Beautiful Work! Thanks for sharing.

Yay! Let us know how your project goes :)
Happy New Year Carly!! So detailed...yet you make it look so simple! 👍🏻.

Awesome Video! How thick is the acrylic for a seating chart?
Thanks! I typically do 1/8" for hanging on the copper stand and 1/4" for leaners
@@CarlyKeller I plan to have a long Seating chart on an easel stand.... about a little more than 5 feet tall in side. Should it be 1/4" thick?
Is this all through your cricut software? I didn’t understand what you meant when you’d said a subscription is needed to save as a PNG
I designed these on Canva and to save an SVG with transparent background (to upload to Cricut Design Space) a Canva subscription is needed. Hope that helps!
What if you did iron on instead of transfer paper? You could use the cricut iron on material and transfer to the sign that way
I havent tried it but would be worried about ruining an expensive acrylic piece!
Hi sorry if this is mentioned somewhere and I missed it, but what size do you recommend the names be so that it isn't a nightmare weeding them and can read it clearly?
Hi Leah! I try to keep them around an 1" tall with thicker fonts that are easy to weed. Only sans/serif easy to read fonts!
