@@jackmiller8851Hey now, battlebit is only 15 bucks. It has been one of the only good purchases I have made recently. It plays just like battlefield, just, with the graphical style. What I like about it though, is that the devs are REALLY close to the game. They actually give a shit and it shows. It is like uh, no mans sky. Why cant new games like Starfield, instead of just taking one aspect from No Mans Sky like the ships or flying, but instead give us free DLC for the life of the game... Multiplayer.. There are very clearly two "camps" of game designers. AAA studios with trillions of dollars, making us pay for DLC that should have been the game. The Base game. It is just sad, and yeah, gaming right now is rough dude. I have been replaying stalker gamma and Mad Max lately.
Community driven modpack patchnotes excite me more than AAA releases, tells you really everything about the state of gaming in 2023 and how nothing compares to gamma right now. Love the vid!

I have gotten burnt out on gamma a while ago and had just installed EFP modpack and was having difficulties with some texture issues that I couldnt fix so Now ill probably just go back to Gamma and experience this new update that I had no clue was coming out.
The loot stash changes are a god send IMO. I was so tired of starting a new game, trying to prep for an iron man, just to have every. single. loot stash spawn so far away or in an area i wasnt comfortable going into just yet. I look forward to a more in-depth video of changes from you, if you plan to make one that is.
I personally hate the emptiness of "world" stashes even in most difficult locations. Game just discougages stalking and map exploration and makes the gameplay an mmo with generic quests one should start and finish in bulk quantities to actually progress.

I am absolutely so happy with the task area changes. I was getting so frustrated with my most recent playthrough because I was almost only getting tasks wah out of my level when I just started in rookie village.

I like the gamma because the realism in this mod makes it so enjoyable. Now with the newest patch I would really like to start another adventure in chernobyl. This mod is getting better and better. Hope it'll stay up like this! :D
Crazy how much effort and time is put into Gamma and other mods. It's pretty sad (or great, depending on how you look at it I guess) that Gamma outshines many AAA titles, even recent ones IMO. Just with the amount of effort and attentiveness towards the player experience it already surpasses many games. Especially when you consider it's built off some weird engine that probably doesn't have the best documentation and certainly not a large mass of experienced users to rely on like you'd have in say... Unity. All without drama, microtransactions or feeling the need to pamper/coddle the player. I wish there were more games that did the whole "the player is not special/important" thing as well as Stalker, while playing god can be fun, I really enjoy fighting on an even or disadvantaged level .
becouse stalker in itself is a bit special game , some call it fallout of eastern europe and there is truth in this , but the most bigest mindset somone gets into(and has to) when he play this , rewires how you percieve and play videogames , (and this is true to both vanilla and moded stalker no matter what stalker or modpack you play , most of time) , in regular videogame most if not enemies are percieved as loot piniata , something that is there for the player to defeat at its convinience , even in darksouls or hard games , it rewards you with items and loot. in vanilla stalker...this is rarely a case , killing enemy dont gives you any xp as there is no xp , only system who exists who you can gain is your equipment , supplies and reputation , and often combat is seen as nessesity , attacked by pack of dogs? well you got nothing to gain from it , mutants? same thing aside from rng blessing you with "parts" sometimes , bandits? your lucky if you get "even" on costs but most of time no. it develops kinda mindset overtime that you dont look as combat as "loot and gains" but "minimalising loses and survival" something lots stalker players will have when they see encoutner coming is "do i want to fight this" and quite often answer will be "no" atleast till you will get confidance , and equipment , but that never reaches full peak as even with maxed out equipment and weapons some threats will still be too great. (youtube has to many clips of being killed by chimeras and its often funny) reason why power fantasy in stalker is moon away from regular games is that in stalker your at bottom of food chain , scrapin bottom of barrel and you be doin that for quite a lon time , fallout 4 gives you power armor , minigun and yoube killing your first deathclaw 20mins in , in stalker , in 5 hours you wont achive that much , you will be surviving but you be miserable and once you get to stage that you are "more confident" that hits you quite nicely becouse you earned it , both of proressing game and also knowin the game by now better. even after playing it for 2500 only other videogame who has me scared and has my "back shiver" is system shock 2 , i still remember in clear sky when i was stuck at a rock attacked by blood suckers and i spend entire night there while they roam and growl , i had good equipment but that does very little for enemy you cant see , and in the open with bushes and grass (first location) it was best i could do , not to say how engine uses lightning , it makes it look better then most videogames (aside from models who are dated and animations) , atmosphere so thick you can cut it with knife and make a sandwich out of it.
Most of these are great additions but I don't understand the relation decrease when wearing a disguise- why bother getting disguises if everyone knows it's you anyways?
I always replay Stalker during the autumn so this big Gamma update is a huge treat and no you're not alone - i was sadly disappointed with Starfield and quit it after just 8 hrs.

@@jacobely6826 well you have to account for the review bombing because the game didn't come out on playstation and there are other complaints rather than boredom, that's why it's not one i had heard. Too much fast travel is usually the #1 complaint. review bombing alone is a significant % of negative reviews. It's probably closer to 5% but 5% of 10 million is still 500,000 people getting bored minimum which is a lot. But i mean how crazy would it be if literally not one person said the game was boring even just to be contrarian or edgy? Would be impossible even if it really was the perfect game. No game is perfect, no game is above criticism. Well some games are because Nintendo won't send you review copies if you aren't giving 9's or 10's to their main IPs but for most companies you're gonna receive some sort of criticism, a lot of it valid and much of it nonsense too. We gonna get those 10 hour video essays regardless, talking about what you hate gets more likes than talking about something you might enjoy and there is a whole demographic of players who can't play who need those type of video essay to cope. Honestly that is one reason i like these smaller channels. You can tell they still love games. I don't really care about what people hate or why they hate it, I like to hear what makes people happy.
@@Jrock420blam ah yes... people are going to review bomb the game on steam, a pc platform, on a game they purchased, on a pc... because its not on playstation? but these people are on pc and have access to the game? so why are they review bombing it? thats just flawed logic. in fact i scoured about 300 negative reviews with the search function and couldnt find a single example of someone reviewing it that way because of its exclusivity.. because again that'd be dumb on the pc version of the game... no one on the pc gives a shit about console exclusivity let me tell you. review bombing is not a significant percentage of the reviews im citing, the steam reviews... i cannot see any level of "review bombing" but i can see LOTS of reviews calling the game boring, same old same old, same game we're used to with even more stripped features, etc etc etc... basically the same criticisims in a louder voice year after year with each bethesda release as fans get more and more tired with bethesda releasing the same game with a slight reskin 3 new mechanics and stripping out far more... there's also a lot of people talking about terrible performance which again... par for the course with bethesda. glad to see that bethesda has left the realm of breaking game boundries making truly next gen games that move the goal post... but still have the performance problems of a game that does.
The rare occasion where you'd find a good tool kit in a white stash was awesome though, like in your recent "20 Days in the Zone" video. I stumbled onto an expert set in Red Forest in my most recent run, in a stash that I almost didn't even bother to check because it was "just" another white stash and I had only found mostly junk in the 15 or so previous stashes on the map, and it was *so* satisfying. I know I'm in the minority on this but I'm not into item auto-stacking, either. I liked fiddling with my inventory to optimize space. All the other changes are great. The new mutant models and weapon animations in particular are really nice.

I’m curious about how the whole “doing jobs for one faction pisses off their enemies” thing is going to work, I usually try to cozy up to both freedom and duty because I like to hang out in rostok and zaton, curious if the change is going to make that more difficult
I'm kinda looking forward to that. I was in the habit of grinding out any tasks I could get from the bar area, because... it's a useful hub. But if it means alienating Freedom and getting shot at on my way north, I may have to reconsider. That being said, the fact that they frequently let me die to bandits always offended me; maybe it's time to go to war.

Would like to see much more artifact hunting - I am VERY curious how lucrative and effective they are. I know they changed alot from Anomaly - and I really liked what Anomaly did to the artifacts.
Also the AK103 battle rifle with GL which used to be a RNG one time drop only is back. Now you can get it from Duty veterans which is fantastic. It replaced AK104 carbine and now we finally have a full package AK 7.62x39mm With Grenade Launcher for mid/late game (only old AKMs could accept GL but do not accept any optic). Just for that, the update is a must have for me.
How do you update to the newest version or most recent without compromising the current setup? Is there a one click stop or do I gotta find each new fix or change and apply it
Hey, does anybody know where they moved the usual ISG spawns in a non-isg playthrough? I usually found them either on Zaton or Jupiter but not i cant find them anywhere, im neutral with mercs but i need those new NATO toys.
after updated the game, all my technician dont give option upgrade or repair anymore, i must repair it by myself and find toolkit to upgrade my gun, is that a new feature or a bug?
Dynamic relations is amess, actually. The annoyance of losing reputation if your quest giver dies from occasionally spawned mercs on a waypoint or some occasional headhunters is massive and frequent. And there's still no quest markers or at least quest giver's name mention in "bring me the item" type of quest records in pda at a stage when you dont't have the requested item or you have it and it contains a generic "business is done, now bring it to the origin" description. Also the pda interface needs rework, with 20+ quests the quest tab becomes unusable

Hi Stalkers. i got a question guys. after this update, everything works great APART from the brown looking zone. its like autumn or something. i have gardener of zone and Autumn retexture disabled and i got no idea why my zone looks like super brown ish. i had beautifull green zone before this. any tips maybe ?
I know your comment is 13 days old, but in case you're still having that issue, here's the solution: The mod you want to look at is "Grass Tweaks", right click on it in your launcher and pick "reinstall mod". An install menu will pop up where you can choose between the four season. Autumn is the default one right now which is why everything looks so brownish. Just pick spring or summer instead and your game will be looking just as green as before. Gardener of the Zone and autumn retexture stay disabled

I'm actually not playing it at the moment, unfortunately. After the update I began seeing frequent crash to desktop where previously I never saw any. Never mind crashing in game walking around, something as simple as adjusting a graphic settings and hitting apply is enough to cause a CTD. I haven't been able to determine the cause, but it also doesn't seem like anyone else is reporting it.

has anybody else’s performance dropped since this update? i used to sit at around 90~ fps but after updating, ive noticed that i hit high 50s pretty often and barely go above 70~ or so
After I installed the hotfix I keep getting a shader compilation failed error. Does anyone know how to fix this? I tried asking on the discord but asking shit in that discord is useless since you just get ignored 90% of the time.
well you forgot that RADAR now is not possible to do alone . especially if you remove "no exos in south" .. why? cause i went in there with my tiny 5.45 with 6min to kill 20 monolith 10 of them exosuits and 6 of them exo skeletons and 1 nosorog.. dont get me wrong i like the challenge and after i noticed that no 1 can get 1 shot with AP 7.62x51 remington700(headshots) i understood i should turn that mod back off because they obviously didnt think about it... you can turn it off and Reload your autosave when you enter the brain scorcher and everything will be back to normal meaning monolith will spawn when you disable it NOT before.... search and disable that modm"334- Defended Lab X10 - _Shen_radar* Good hunting mates.
I'm usually already friends with Duty when I enter warehouses but can still do "neutral" tasks for freedom so I don't piss off both of them. Dunno how it's gonna be now. Also vices are free, that's a big QOL when starting out. I have no space left on my SSD, so many good games installed.....no money for higher capacity....gonna play that update somewhere in the future.
We can here apply the same argument Frank Zappa made about the music industry shifting from risk-taking bewildered cigar-chomping executives to "i know whats best" silicon valley hippies/yuppies to the gaming industry. No non-risk taking developer is going to surpass even the most outdated game if it has direct and effective input and implementations of a community of users and devs alike.
Id like to go with Gamma but Im concerned about it being based on Anomaly. Im 200 days into my Anomaly playthrough and am really getting tired of script errors crashing the game. And according to the log they are just lazy errors. Has Gamma made corrections or is it still an issue?
I'm so relieved I didn't preorder or care to buy Starfield, and just figured it was going to be a mid game at best and I was right. It's like a 6.5/10 game atm, without community mods. Maybe after 6 or 12 months Starfield will be a 8/10 game but even then I'll be playing Gamma, which is a 10/10 game as far as I'm concerned, and we'll have the 1.0 update before Starfield even remotely gets enjoyable for me.
I was at 25-26hrs when I uninstalled the game to make space for GAMMA. I was ready to give up at 7-8hrs of playtime tbh, but read online that for a lot of people the game really "clicked" at 10-12hrs so I pushed forward. It did get a bit better with time but yeah I really didn't get hooked. I'll get back to it eventually!
Starfield is exactly what ı expected tbh. The last bethesda game I've played was Fallout 4 so ı kinda expected something similar to that and thats what we've got. Starfield has that RPG problem where somestuff are really fun like the faction missions which I've found to be really fun and then other missions for a tree where you spend pretty much all of the quest walking to loading screens and talking to a lot of people. What ım saying is that it has its highs and its lows and ı've always just prefered a narrative experiance to be short and only filled with the highs so ı don't feel like I've wasted my time on a mediocre quest.
I played about 20 hours of Starfield and went back to Cyberpunk 2.0 and haven't look back. I plan on going backt o STALKER before I go back to Starfield.
I've been enjoying the hell out of Starfield personally. Done 50+ hours already! Some issues here and there but the queste are amazing, and the gunplay is way better than FO4. Of course mods will elevate the game
I wish I was you. I've played every Bethesda game released after Oblivion and loved them all (except F76). But god the characters/quests are as interesting as plywood & most of the game feels like a fast travel/door simulator. :(
just the tool progression fix alone makes it worth it ,i hated how stupid it was in 0.9 and stopped playing gamma because of that and went to efp instead

even after playing it for 2500 only other videogame who has me scared and has my "back shiver" is system shock 2 , i still remember in clear sky when i was stuck at a rock attacked by blood suckers and i spend entire night there while they roam and growl , i had good equipment but that does very little for enemy you cant see , and in the open with bushes and grass (first location) it was best i could do , not to say how engine uses lightning , it makes it look better then most videogames (aside from models who are dated and animations) , atmosphere so thick you can cut it with knife and make a sandwich out of it.

I always replay Stalker during the autumn so this big Gamma update is a huge treat and no you're not alone - i was sadly disappointed with Starfield and quit it after just 8 hrs.

the majority enjoy it ill agree, but with a 75 percent on steam that suggests that 1/4 players on steam find it a little boring, which isnt all that insignificant.
i mean im not bashing the game, to each there own, but i find bethesda games are touted as "hardly criticised" when like no there's clearly lots of people criticising it, just not the majority... and thats always been the case no need to make it more mythical than it is, its a game a lot of people enjoy, no need to exaggerate it, thats how you end up with people making 10 hour video essays on why the game is bad just to try and get their voice heard... and boy we dont need anymore of those.
@@jacobely6826 well you have to account for the review bombing because the game didn't come out on playstation and there are other complaints rather than boredom, that's why it's not one i had heard. Too much fast travel is usually the #1 complaint. review bombing alone is a significant % of negative reviews. It's probably closer to 5% but 5% of 10 million is still 500,000 people getting bored minimum which is a lot.
But i mean how crazy would it be if literally not one person said the game was boring even just to be contrarian or edgy? Would be impossible even if it really was the perfect game.
No game is perfect, no game is above criticism. Well some games are because Nintendo won't send you review copies if you aren't giving 9's or 10's to their main IPs but for most companies you're gonna receive some sort of criticism, a lot of it valid and much of it nonsense too.
We gonna get those 10 hour video essays regardless, talking about what you hate gets more likes than talking about something you might enjoy and there is a whole demographic of players who can't play who need those type of video essay to cope.
Honestly that is one reason i like these smaller channels. You can tell they still love games. I don't really care about what people hate or why they hate it, I like to hear what makes people happy.

in fact i scoured about 300 negative reviews with the search function and couldnt find a single example of someone reviewing it that way because of its exclusivity.. because again that'd be dumb on the pc version of the game... no one on the pc gives a shit about console exclusivity let me tell you.
review bombing is not a significant percentage of the reviews im citing, the steam reviews... i cannot see any level of "review bombing" but i can see LOTS of reviews calling the game boring, same old same old, same game we're used to with even more stripped features, etc etc etc...
basically the same criticisims in a louder voice year after year with each bethesda release as fans get more and more tired with bethesda releasing the same game with a slight reskin 3 new mechanics and stripping out far more...
there's also a lot of people talking about terrible performance which again... par for the course with bethesda. glad to see that bethesda has left the realm of breaking game boundries making truly next gen games that move the goal post... but still have the performance problems of a game that does.

Man I just try my first playthought right before the update was launch, and I absoulte like this new update,hell yea.
The rare occasion where you'd find a good tool kit in a white stash was awesome though, like in your recent "20 Days in the Zone" video. I stumbled onto an expert set in Red Forest in my most recent run, in a stash that I almost didn't even bother to check because it was "just" another white stash and I had only found mostly junk in the 15 or so previous stashes on the map, and it was *so* satisfying.
I know I'm in the minority on this but I'm not into item auto-stacking, either. I liked fiddling with my inventory to optimize space.
All the other changes are great. The new mutant models and weapon animations in particular are really nice.

I’m curious about how the whole “doing jobs for one faction pisses off their enemies” thing is going to work, I usually try to cozy up to both freedom and duty because I like to hang out in rostok and zaton, curious if the change is going to make that more difficult
I'm kinda looking forward to that. I was in the habit of grinding out any tasks I could get from the bar area, because... it's a useful hub. But if it means alienating Freedom and getting shot at on my way north, I may have to reconsider.

Would like to see much more artifact hunting - I am VERY curious how lucrative and effective they are. I know they changed alot from Anomaly - and I really liked what Anomaly did to the artifacts.
Also the AK103 battle rifle with GL which used to be a RNG one time drop only is back. Now you can get it from Duty veterans which is fantastic. It replaced AK104 carbine and now we finally have a full package AK 7.62x39mm With Grenade Launcher for mid/late game (only old AKMs could accept GL but do not accept any optic). Just for that, the update is a must have for me.

Dynamic relations is amess, actually. The annoyance of losing reputation if your quest giver dies from occasionally spawned mercs on a waypoint or some occasional headhunters is massive and frequent.
And there's still no quest markers or at least quest giver's name mention in "bring me the item" type of quest records in pda at a stage when you dont't have the requested item or you have it and it contains a generic "business is done, now bring it to the origin" description. Also the pda interface needs rework, with 20+ quests the quest tab becomes unusable

I know your comment is 13 days old, but in case you're still having that issue, here's the solution:
The mod you want to look at is "Grass Tweaks", right click on it in your launcher and pick "reinstall mod". An install menu will pop up where you can choose between the four season. Autumn is the default one right now which is why everything looks so brownish. Just pick spring or summer instead and your game will be looking just as green as before.

I'm actually not playing it at the moment, unfortunately. After the update I began seeing frequent crash to desktop where previously I never saw any. Never mind crashing in game walking around, something as simple as adjusting a graphic settings and hitting apply is enough to cause a CTD. I haven't been able to determine the cause, but it also doesn't seem like anyone else is reporting it.

has anybody else’s performance dropped since this update? i used to sit at around 90~ fps but after updating, ive noticed that i hit high 50s pretty often and barely go above 70~ or so
After I installed the hotfix I keep getting a shader compilation failed error. Does anyone know how to fix this? I tried asking on the discord but asking shit in that discord is useless since you just get ignored 90% of the time.

well you forgot that RADAR now is not possible to do alone . especially if you remove "no exos in south" .. why? cause i went in there with my tiny 5.45 with 6min to kill 20 monolith 10 of them exosuits and 6 of them exo skeletons and 1 nosorog.. dont get me wrong i like the challenge and after i noticed that no 1 can get 1 shot with AP 7.62x51 remington700(headshots) i understood i should turn that mod back off because they obviously didnt think about it... you can turn it off and Reload your autosave when you enter the brain scorcher and everything will be back to normal meaning monolith will spawn when you disable it NOT before....

I'm usually already friends with Duty when I enter warehouses but can still do "neutral" tasks for freedom so I don't piss off both of them. Dunno how it's gonna be now. Also vices are free, that's a big QOL when starting out. I have no space left on my SSD, so many good games installed.....no money for higher capacity....gonna play that update somewhere in the future.

I'm so relieved I didn't preorder or care to buy Starfield, and just figured it was going to be a mid game at best and I was right. It's like a 6.5/10 game atm, without community mods. Maybe after 6 or 12 months Starfield will be a 8/10 game but even then I'll be playing Gamma, which is a 10/10 game as far as I'm concerned, and we'll have the 1.0 update before Starfield even remotely gets enjoyable for me.

I was at 25-26hrs when I uninstalled the game to make space for GAMMA.
I was ready to give up at 7-8hrs of playtime tbh, but read online that for a lot of people the game really "clicked" at 10-12hrs so I pushed forward. It did get a bit better with time but yeah I really didn't get hooked. I'll get back to it eventually!

Starfield is exactly what ı expected tbh. The last bethesda game I've played was Fallout 4 so ı kinda expected something similar to that and thats what we've got. Starfield has that RPG problem where somestuff are really fun like the faction missions which I've found to be really fun and then other missions for a tree where you spend pretty much all of the quest walking to loading screens and talking to a lot of people. What ım saying is that it has its highs and its lows and ı've always just prefered a narrative experiance to be short and only filled with the highs so ı don't feel like I've wasted my time on a mediocre quest.

I wish I was you. I've played every Bethesda game released after Oblivion and loved them all (except F76). But god the characters/quests are as interesting as plywood & most of the game feels like a fast travel/door simulator. :(
