I’ve never thought about the stamina involved in a 3 hour tournament. If I can’t kill a Zerg in the first 15 minutes my brain just turns off.

My favorite game from this tournament was the one against Kas starting at 2:14:23 .
*spoiler alert*
Kas' army with his mass liberators and the way he controlled it, really looked to me as if it was impossible to engage and would just flatten the bases one by one. But you managed to simultaneously stall it, wear it down, reinforce your army, kill Kas' bases in the back and in the end it looked as if his army just fell apart. Very impressive multitasking.
I agree, I was looking at that thinking: this is ten times better than the lib pushes I see and I can't beat those, I hope I get a new strategy out of this!
Unfortunately the strategy Harstem employed was "beat him everywhere else at once while stalling" which I err.. will need some practise at

I really enjoyed watching 2nd game, this constant rebuilding of the wall, I would be panicking so hard in Harstem's shoes... and for him it was obv he has a upper hand.

seeing you counter the diamond zerg's attempts to attack you of the natural was really informative. I have been forgetting that I could just put a pylon there for so long and as a diamond Protoss this is the response I see the most.

Here is my take on the bo5 versus Heromarine.
When faced with a good opponent, the one thing I learned the hard way is that expanding before them means I have a smaller army for the next 2 minutes.
While other players didn't punish Harstem for this, Heromarine did exactly that. He scouted well and seemed to assemble an attack shortly after noticing the greed and each game ended before the mid game.
Could it be that simple?
I don't think Heromarine is a better player, he simply had a bigger army going into each engagement. Imagine if instead of an extra base, Harstem, with his sick micro, had a bigger army with two or three additional disruptors. I think it goes to the mid-game.
That said, I have no idea what was going on behind the scenes. I know sometimes if I'm not feeling it, I will take huge risks because YOLO. Maybe Harstem really wanted to take risks to see if he could get away with them lol. Would make sense if he was already quite fatigued. The format also maybe could have been better. Was there even a 30 minute break before the final?

I don't play starcraft but lately I've been putting this video on and skipping to a random part for nice ambient noise to fall asleep to. Tonight I made the mistake of actually watching game 3 vs Kas and now my adrenaline is peaked. What a game!
36:10 I love his ability to judge fights, I thought he was losing that one, I underestimated the battery overcharge, I would've totally backed off and maybe lost a base or taken heavy damage.

Hero Marine has a neuralink straight into Harstem's brain. That last game Harstem would move some stalkers down his ramp from his main and HM would be right back in his main at the perfect timing. HM is also obviously very practiced when it comes to splitting disruptor shots so it's tough to know what to do except maybe hit the lab and come up with some new compositions + micro or something
Admittedly, I'm pretty terrible at this game, but I thought the second (third? forgetting now) game against Kas was over so many times in his favor. Incredible props for sticking in that one and clutching up the win

The first game against Geralt was fantastic. Harstem split his army in two and kept jumping back and forth between the two armies. That was Harstem showing his full potential. It starts at 28:17.

You were playing to lose that final not playing to win. Not to sound harsh, or rude. But you took other matches and looked normal, but during the entire time of the final you were seriously stressed.

BGMWSS Suggestion: Play ZvZ. Get a queen straight to enemy base (drop or rally) and somehow sneak a tumor into their base and try get 3-5 "Spy Tumors" around before attempting to end the game.

Probably cause people don't usually queue up tournaments. So they just squeezed him in
open cup which means anyone can register
I (diamond at the time) played in an ESL tournament against Scarlett and InControl. Just keep an eye out for tourneys that allow anyone to register
