I left Sheffield in 1952. In those days double deck trams used to drive down the Moor and then go all the way to Millhouses Park etc. Things have changed.

Nice to see they are creating lots of open green spaces around the city, shame they'll be hardly anyone to fill them. It looks like a ghost town now (admittedly most other towns and cities are like this now) Very sad 😢

Ah but don’t forget the plan is to get people living in the city centre now so it will be busy and probably busier than ever

I left the UK ten years ago so am pretty uninformed. Still miss Sheffield massively. Why, in your opinion are most towns and cities lacking people to fill the spaces?

@@logarth9027 The main reason is the internet, so much is done online nowadays whereas once upon a time everything had to be done in person by travelling into the city centre.

At the end, by the river is a green and white arched building. It's very pretty! Any history on it? Thanks for sharing! 🤟

Thanks for that. Not been on down that way for quite a while. Seems like a lot of money is being spent but will it attract the numbers it used to? Seems unrealistic to think so as parking is still really poor in the city centre (even for disabled drivers!)

When I was very young I always thought that double decker trams would move from City High St to Snig-Hill and go on to places such as Hillsborough Park etc. Do I have it wrong ?

  • @sextoncardew903

    Does Snig-Hill still exist ?
