    I know this is an older video, but you need a bigger pipe diameter for draw to fix the smoke coming out the door.
    With a damper, you can lock it down same as this size pipe, but when you are ready to load stove you can open the damper giving you much higher ventilation.
    I've made a few of these now, one of mine wanted 8" but i found i could get away with 6" if i added another section of pipe.
    Good job, looks better than most bought stoves and I'm sure it puts off 5x more heat than any of those little camp stoves on Amazon.
    As an Alaskan Hunter, the stove is the heart of camp. Nobody will complain of it being to warm, but everyone will if it's too cold

      I suspected the pipe of being too small and I can’t remember if I made it bigger before this video or after. Either way it still needs to be bigger. I actually scrapped this project and it’s just been sitting for a couple years now. What stove do you use in Alaska? Thanks for watching

      @@AdventureswithSpackmann I'll make a video for you. I'm pretty happy with my design. It's extremely bulky, we're hunting loaded to the brim in buggies, each of us have over a thousand lbs of gear. often in the rain for weeks straight. Big stoves keep you healthy and happy.
      I run a propane banjo burner in mine to ignite the wet wood or just use propane for temp control when cooking

    I’ve been looking for a tent stove idea. This is a great idea. My problem is that living in San Diego you get inspired for a hot tent and a tent stove, then when you finally get it a few weeks later, it’s 45 degrees at the coldest, and a flannel and a beanie are all you need. My daughter is about the same age as yours. I’m sure she’d love the chocolate outside of the s’more as well.
    Cheers.

    Spackman that isn't a bad idea for you finding that galvanized can and lid . As long as it'll keep the tent and you warm I say he'll go for it . You made that wood stove some year ago have you tried using it and if so how did it work out for you . Could you let me know ,.. Thank again for another outstanding video . Oh yeah I wanted to say that should the bottom ever come apart like what happened to you in that Amazon wood stove you brought , remember when the ashes were falling out of the wood stove well that's from the pressure from the heat that pop's open the bottom of the can .

    • @AdventureswithSpackmann
      @AdventureswithSpackmann  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Apache Chase Roadrunner I have not tried this stove in a tent. I never got it burning 100% like I would have liked. Ah ok, I think we only noticed ash falling out when we were loading it. Could be wrong. Glad you liked this stove. Lots of hot tent companies use galvanized pipe and it’s safe as long as you burn the galvanized off before burning it inside. Thanks for watching!
