This is actually a good thing, that the charging port is on the top. One of the problems with plugging it from the bottom is that you wouldn't be able to have it standing on the table and charging at the same time. This is actually a problem with Switch.
3:09 "I would really prefer to have a bottom mounted charging port so that when I'm gaming it's hanging off the bottom and not off the top" If its at the bottom, how exactly do you plan on gaming when you have a keyboard attached and the stand erected and want to charge the device at the same time?

A lot of the emulators have a default backend of OpenGL or Vulcan. You need to change it to DirectX 11 or 12 for it to run optimally on Intel Iris Xe gpu. OpenGL and vulkan are optimized for nvidia and amd gpus. Try it again with selecting the different backend in the emulator options and they should work great on intel iris xe graphics!
Why? This is great for people with game libraries outside of Steam. GOG, Epic, Ubisoft, etc. I would argue that if it wasn't for the price, this is the better option.
@@waffleten9750 with some workaround, sure. But a linux-based OS will require effort to run off the shelf compared to to a windows system in terms of running games.
@@waffleten9750 you do know that proton is not an emulator, right? You still can only run steam games on it. It's a closed system for steam. If you know how to install and run other streaming services on steamOS, by all means share it. That's exactly what I mean when I said 'workaround'. Look it up
I'm like, not sure if he's trolling, cause looking at the Dolphin site I see zero mention of N64, and I can't find any forks that integrate N64 support Edit: Just realized, he's probably playing a Wii VC game or a homebrew port
I don't recommend it, there are usually bugs in the Virtual console from Wii that the original console in a emulator doesn't have, also, more streamlined code in general going straight for Project64.
IMO charging port on the top is the superior configuration here, as I often find myself wanting to rest my switch on top of something or play in table top mode while charging.
@Clasic Man that's what I do most of the time, but it's inconvenient. If I could trade my switch in for an identical second generation with charging on top I would.
@Clasic Man what do you mean it has no advantage? The switch is a portable console, so there's definitely numerous occasions where I wanna play and charge while not at home. Even while at home, sometimes the TV is being used by someone else so docking isn't an option. Let's say I'm at my dorm, where I do not have a dock, and I wanna play while laying on my bed. Holding it up gets tiring, so I flop over onto my stomach and rest the switch on the bed. When I eventually need to charge, I can't easily do so without either crushing my charging cable and eventually break it or assume another playing position. A problem I wouldn't have if I could just plug in on top. Similarly I often find myself playing with the switch on the table and my battery running low, a scenario where I can't charge from the bottom. Obviously having both would be even better, but given the choice of only one, I'd pick the top.
@Clasic Man I don't need USB ports. I need a screen standing upright on a table. I know I could get a separate stand to do that while charging, but that's one more thing to lug around and costs money. I'm not saying you have to agree, I'm just saying that for ME, charging on the top would be ideal. I could put my switch on top of something, and plug it in to charge without having the cable interfere. The point is not to find other ways around it, and I understand that many people would prefer it as it is now. The point is, THERE IS a reason why SOME would prefer it on the top, so in this kind of product that's not necessarily a detriment
I also had a 7700k but you can sell it and easily upgrade Those CPUs are still kinda expensive and you can just put $100 on top and get an i9 10850k or an AMD 5800X
3:09 I mean I get what you're saying if you're referring to adding another USB-C, but if there was only one charging port, and it was on the bottom, you wouldn't be able to charge the machine while having it standing up with the included stand that you mentioned earlier.

If Valve is honest about hardware specs, easily the Deck. Easily. It's going to legitimize handheld PC gaming in the industry.
They all have advantages and disadvantages. But all of them are worth owning. OneXPlayer/Aya Neo/GPD if you want to immediately & effectively install and use windows apps and programs that you use on your desktop on the road as those are true window Windows PCs and go for the Deck if you just want to play the steam games you own on the road.

IMO charging port on the top is the superior configuration here, as I often find myself wanting to rest my switch on top of something or play in table top mode while charging.
@Clasic Man that's what I do most of the time, but it's inconvenient. If I could trade my switch in for an identical second generation with charging on top I would.
Or just have it on both sides like the Neo so the user can choose what they like better.
@Clasic Man that doesn't solve my problem tho. what am i gonna do, lug a monitor around as well? that'll be nice and easy to set up on the train
I hope they mass produced these or keep making iterations for newer cpus ... Cuz that price is gonna take me some time to save up lol
