After about 15 rewatches over a span of about 18 years I can now say without a shred of doubt that to me ATLA is the greatest piece of cinema, live or animated, ever made.
My favorite Avatar tribute of all time. I'd found your copy of this on vimeo, but I'm *so* glad it's back here on TH-cam! I love how you weave in different philosophies from the show with scenes that reinforce each one. This really highlights everything that makes atla stand out as a truly moving piece of art. ❤️ Just beautiful!

Being emotionally intelligent, aware of your emotions and others around you. As well as how to handle them. being open to lean on other people to support you. Being supported through love, self love and from those around you. That in its way is a form of being resourceful. It’s strong, steady, and calm.

You know, I forgot how good this is, how much is centres my balance and keeps me calm, how much it makes me happy, in short. It's one of the first videos of yours that I ever watched and I still maintain it has some of the most supreme vibes you have ever created. Thank you for at least trying to upload it again. it was taken down because of the copyrights owners (Viacom) along with a lot other of my atla vids in 2019. The block on most of them was removed this year except for two: this one and the Azula&Zuko one, I don't know why. So I decided in the end to try and reupload them, and see if Viacom leaves them be
Everything comes full circle in avatar. Everything in the avatar comes in full circle. So like the swamp guy and guru lessons: everything and everyone is connected. Time is an illusion and so is death. The four nations cover the entire world, team avatar has been running into the same people no matter where they go. And those people run into people that team avatar also have met. The white lotus meme bears just happen to be all teachers of team avatar. Zuko just happened to run into jet after they both separately met team avatar on their own. Suki running into azula. Zuko just always seems to be running into ancestor Rokus reincarnation. Everyone and everything is connected.

iro lesson on the four elements: each element has an important trait that when together it makes you whole. if you pull from one place your path becomes rigid and stale. You fall out of balance. This can happen to anyone. And this also happened to every villain in avatar and legend of Korra. To azula, ozi, zuko at some point, and sozion. Every lesson in Avatar comes back to haunt us in the series. And in life.

Air is about spiral movements. Flowing with the movement and instead forcing so much. When you meet ristantance you naturally switch to the opposite direction. Your mind is free. Being a creative thinker, a form of being resourceful, and looking at different angles and different possible solutions. Not being trapped in a box by traditional rules and being able to move free by looking outside the box.
Earth is about strength that’s defined by value. Being able to endure because of the strength that’s built over time. It's patient and strong. Steady. It stands its ground and fights when it needs to. But it also knows how to rest.
Roku's mistake with sozion wasn’t that he should’ve killed him from the beginning. It was that he shouldn’t keep a closer eye on him and make sure he wasn’t alone. Sozion is firebender meaning he has passion and drive to achieve it. When passion is suppressed, any person can become frustrated that they still want to achieve what they want. And they won’t let anyone stop them. Sozion was only pulling from lesson fire, but not from the place of air which allows you to see the multiple possibilities, water that allows you to be more flexible and gain help when needed, and the earth that is about being patient. Sozion became out of balance, and on top of that he was a fire lord, a monarch. He was at a high status where he could help the world or make the world worse. Being a fire lord monarch majority means empty throne room and no one really to advise him. Sozin's original plan was to spread his wealth to other nations in a way, when suppressed by Roku, alone in his throne room, and only pulling from the lesson of fire (the achieving your passion) he fell out of balance and his dream became more about conquering the nations. So Roku knowing his sozion status, as an avatar and his friend, he should’ve stuck closer to him and advised him.
