This was one of the songs I used as illustration in my Toastmasters advanced speech series of five presentations on "Irish History Through Music"which focuses on storytelling. I sang all three verses, accompanied on my autoharp - it was well-received and told an important bit of Irish history during the potato famine of the mid-1800s and deportation of many Irish to Australia at that time. It was this song that actually got me interested in learning more about Irish history and presenting it and other Irish folk music to Toastmaster audiences in my area.
Delores, one more thing. Do you have your presentation on video and if so did you ever post it on line? I am very interested in Irish history. i am 27% Irish !

Dolores, it is at 2:03 where It sounds like Neil says, "Against the famine and the crown......." I can't really understand what he says.
