    I've been a homemaker for 50 years too! Got married to my high school boyfriend & I've enjoyed every minute. I love keeping a home. I've never worked outside of the house and no kids. I like sewing & cooking & baking. I loved my home economics classes in school so much that I became a class helper rather than taking classes I didn't care for or "home room". I enjoy your channel so much. You're my favorite youtuber. My hubby recognizes your voice from another room and says "I hear Denise!".
    Your husband is a very lucky man. So many women sort of brag "I don't cook"... Men love being cooked for!!! Kindest regards, Lisa in San Diego

      Good video. I like that you tell what is in season. Your videos are so relaxing. I live the tips you give to help prepare people but do it in such a calming tone.
      Tip for those half empty water bottles. Use the water on your flower plants. Better to not have the left over water but at least it doesn’t go to waste.

    Denise, I agree with you on eating the grapes and the bacteria

    • @homemakingwithdenise
      @homemakingwithdenise  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You know...about those grapes...my dad always tasted the grapes to see if they were sweet before he'd buy. It helped his buying decisions so I did the same thing when I started shopping. Then, I learned that one...stores don't particularly like shoppers doing that and two...bacteria! Those grapes have been handles and the like so no more tasing in the store!

      Kim! It was so good to meet you at the restaurant. I always enjoy meeting people who watch my channel. And thank you for coming over. Meeting people who enjoy what I do validates that what I am doing is needed, so thank you. And girl...that cherry cobbler. You know I asked for the recipe but they said absolutely not. It's a family secret. It was delicious!

    I stopped buying bottled water a couple years ago. We buy 3 gallon jugs of reserve osmosis water from local waterman and it only cost 25 cents a gallon!!!! 🙀 Then we fill up our own water bottles with it. We do buy Gatorade they, the guys drink it.

    Denise, id enjoy your showing what you put in your burrito bowls. I seem to be in a rut for summer meals and that might be something my husband and i would enjoy. Tacos and taco salad is what i generally make. Thank you. I always enjoy your grocery hauls.

      Hi Terry, I can do that. I'll have to decide when or how to do it. In another grocery haul or another video. Tell me this...how do you like me sharing a recipe or two or some other thing like the vacuum sealing of the meat with the grocery hauls?

    Hi Darling Denise. I enjoyed watching you talk about your food haul and how you're planning to use most everything. I just started buying smaller bottles of water and smaller cans of Diet Coke. So much easier to carry in from the car. Your selection of produce looks just wonderful. I *love* fresh vegetables. And I like watching you at the stove. Aren't instant mashed potatoes the greatest thing since sliced bread? I'm really glad you showcased canned beef. I think I'll give it a try. Loved the time I spent with you.

    I use the blue non scratch for dishes and my glass stove top. Yellow and green for the kitchen sinks. If we have one for the bathroom, it stays in the bathroom. I used to label and date the sponges with a sharpie, but no one paid attention and the writing some times wears off. Now I just replace the kitchen ones at the first of the month. Bathroom ones we replace just when ever.

    • @homemakingwithdenise
      @homemakingwithdenise  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Your sponge system makes sense. I solved my dilemma by just using yellow for the kitchen and blue for other things.

    Some tips for your Food Saver ... buy the rolls and cut them to the size you need. Before packaging for the freezer, either put the meat/fish in a cheap zip lock bag or wrap in wax paper or plastic wrap. Then put in Food Saver bag and seal. Leave the zip lock bag open if using.
    Since the meat is frozen, no juices come in contact with the machine, and the bags can be washed and reused.

      @homemakingwithdenise  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you for that idea. It could save some bags as they are pricey!

      Hello, what did you like best about this grocery haul?

  • @danniemcdonald7675
    @danniemcdonald7675 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Great haul! Have you seen the Ball recipe for Strawberry Lemonade Concentrate? You could substitute raspberries, blueberries and watermelon for sure, but can't remember other fruits. I think peaches are ok (only yellow because of the acidity). It makes 7 pints and is waterbathed for 15 minutes. Mix 1 pint concentrate with 3 pints water (some use 7-Up or Ginger Ale) to taste. The sugar can be reduced or left out altogether and sweetened when served. This will reduce the amount of concentrate you have.

      Dannie! I love this recipe. I’m definitely going to give it a try. I like strawberry lemonade too and making my own will be much cheaper! Thank you.

    Seems like it's more expensive to use those vanity fair napkins than paper towels. $6 for 200 napkins. Sheet for sheet, i have a feeling the paper towels would be cheaper unless you find the napkins on sell.

    Denise, I get tired of buying paper towel, because they're too expensive

    • @knothead35
      @knothead35 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Me too. I've started using cloth napkins for everything except extremely dirty or gross things...like when my cat pukes. It's helped me use less paper towels tremendously. I had bought some cloth napkins from tj Maxx years ago and we only use them during holidays. So I just started using them daily. I don't care if they're stained. They're clean. I see them all the time at thrift stores.
