Hi ivy, i appreciate your help through your video, all your videos helped me a lot, I've been a bit frustrated with all of this work, i am new with this,i have made some on canva and still not confident enough to publish my coloring book, i just added 1 my notebook on KDP and still on review, i have made some story books and also still not confident enough to publish, and i found your channel, i watched all your videos and learned a lot from you, thank you so much,
Thanks for doing these videos! I wanted to do it for about a year, but finally managed to publish my first book yesterday and about to do the second, thankfully to you!
Great tutorial. Please make a video about the quality of the book. How it came out, I’m curious to see this too. Would have been nice to see in the video
Thank you very much for this wonderful tutorial. I have a question for you Ivy, could you make another tutorial on whether it is possible to: 1. Change the description of our previously published books on Amazon KDP, add or change keywords, etc.? If so, how? 2. Is it possible to change the name of the author of the books to a better and easier to remember pen name? Thank you very much!
Hi, I just have a couple questions about when you actually make sells on your book. What percentage of the sell price do you receive & how/when do you receive payment? Do you get paid each time one sells or is it like monthly? Thanks for all of your help!
So very glad that I found a fellow Canadian! Your videos are easy to follow, your step by steps are very clear and you are easy on the ears! Do have one question, though: approximately how much CAD do you spend on a monthly basis for the publishing tools?
Thank you so much for your kind words and glad to see another fellow Canadian viewing my videos! :) In terms of costs, it can honestly vary. When people first start, they could have $0 cost (i.e. I designed all my books using Canva Free version initially). However, after a while, most people sign up for Canva Pro (as you would have access to more features/ elements allowing you to create better books), you can also sign up for keyword/ niche research tools (I use the Self Publishing Titan's research tools) to ensure you are picking the right niches and also for coloring books, I leverage Publisher's Vault, etc. However, if you are just getting started and trying to get a taste of KDP, you could totally just start off with the 30 day Free Trial of the Canva Pro account and then go from there (link in my video description). Hope this helps!
@@ivyhang5084 Thanks so much. I was more looking at the CAD vs USD in terms of cost differential. For example, I subscribed to the Publishers Vault which is listed at $27 - not a bad price however, it wasn't until I got to the check out that I realized it was USD. I understand that the fluctuations in currency affects the price but I was kind of hoping for a ballpark idea. I am brand new to this and am really just looking for some concrete costing ideas. It is my intent to get the paid Canva but not sure if I should do it now or wait; same for the Self Publishing Titans.
do you have a contact us page for sponsorships or affiliate promotions? I want to send you full access to our coloring book AI software but can seem to find it on your channel.
@@ivyhang5084 I know that, but the option to customize the pages I don't see on the free one, like when we type in the specific width and length that's necessary for the paper back and journals
Amazing tutorial! It's the only one that helped me understand sizes and bleed with canva. Just one question: if we want to create the same book in different languages, do we have to upload the translated book and then put it in the appropriate amazon link (depending on the country)? Great canva tip for adding the quotes!! :)
Thank you so much for your very kind comment! Really appreciate your support :) I'm glad you enjoyed the video and found it helpful. For different languages, you will have to publish as a separate book, but you can publish in all marketplaces if you want (don't have to limit to just the country where the language is relevant for). However, if preferred, you can also just select relevant marketplaces. This can all be selected during your KDP upload process. Hope this helps! :)
Hi Ivy! I just have a quick question for you. I have created a coloring book and followed your example in doing so. But since I have submitted it to KDP, I have gotten it returned back to me with the same issue with the cover like 4 times already. Can you please help me with that? I would really appreciate it!
I'm really sorry to hear. I think the best way would be to contact KDP support through their live chat as they can tell you exactly what it is that you need to fix in order to get it published. Sometimes it is formatting issues or copyright issues, but they can give you more direct pointers for your specific situation. Hope you manage to resolve it soon and get your book published!
When we will look at amazon journals we will see hard covers journals have best sellers contain some specific photos even when coffe mug. They have mostly just 100+ pages with horitzontal lines and thats all.
Thank you for your valuable and useful information. I would like to ask you for an answer about using the Canva library to create a coloring book. Will I get into trouble?
Appreciate your kind comment! Regarding your question, please feel free to check out my other video here on this exact topic - th-cam.com/video/MFc0e7e-CRI/w-d-xo.html Hope this helps!
Thanks Ivy for a good tutorial as always . Today i also had a question, when a book is published where does it first show up ,I mean on which page? If you have put the right keyword in the title and subtitle? Is it random ? The niche keyword has less than 1000 books. Hope to hear from you .Tia
When you first publish your book, there is generally a bit of a honeymoon period where Amazon will show your book higher in the rank to see if customers would click/ buy. This information will then be leveraged to decide on your ranking after that. So overall, the more clicks you get and the more sales you achieve, the higher your book will move up in ranking over time. Hope this helps!
Thank you for your tutorial video, I have a question: if i choose no bleed , why do I need margings ? And if I wont do margings , how it s effect on inner pages?
Margins are there to make sure your words stay in the safe space when it comes to printing and cutting. This happens if your book has bleed or not. If your book does not have any words and you do not use bleed your lines will not be able to reach to the end of the page. This is because of the margins. If your book has images and you use bleed, the images can reach to the end of the page but they are still restricted by the margin. I hope this helped.
Thanks for asking. Canva Pro membership is $120USD / year or you can sign up for a monthly subscription as well. However, you can also leverage my link in the video description to sign up for a 30 day free trial to see if you like it :)
If you have canva pro membership, then you won't need to pay for each element separately. you can use my link in the video description and sign up for a 30 day Canva Pro trial for free if you'd like :)
