  • Real happiness is community. It’s laughing with your friends. It’s connection, friendship, love.
A slice of my exchange with Max Joseph, filmmaker and former co-host of MTV’s Catfish. Max shares insights from his new TH-cam series on happiness, exploring the neuroscience of well-being, the importance of connection, and what we can learn from the world’s happiest countries.

I know this and it is the cause of the unhappiness b/c it is what I've desired my entire adult life and increasingly have become saddened in not having it, judging myself for being less than. And yet, b/c I am alive I persevere making the best of life and doing the best I can to simply survive this lifetime. This life for me is the ultimate challenge. I long to say that it has been one of joy, fulfillment, laughter, peace, and love. ❤️

The platinum hair threw me for a minute and then I realized this was Max from Catfish.

Self esteem comes from work or serving others. They are all pieces to a complete human. Health, faith, social connections

This excludes people who don't have a lot of friends by virtue of their very nature of being an introvert. Given the legacy of stigma and discrimination against introverts, I'm sorry to see this narrative go unquestioned . sensitive individuals turn off and have an audience to hear them saying the truth true happiness starts inside oneself
