Love this channel. These videos bring back so many memories when me and best mates used to spend half our life in video shops in the uk back in the late 80s 90s and 00s. Such a shame these places are now gone in the uk. Part of the whole experience of a movie for me is waiting for it to be released from the cinema, even waiting 6 months. Renting it 100x then waiting 6 months for the video dvd release. Digital downloads now has ruined the whole experience
When you move to Columbus you could try to start doing meetups at family video. My local family video doesn't have much business so if the one's in Columbus are similar than you and a bunch of your subscribers would just be chilling in an empty family video talking and appreciating renting movies or just movies in general.
I’d rather rent than stream. Streaming is convenient, but quality can dip at any moment. Once that happens it kills it for me. (From personal experience with good internet connection)
As i arrive on the Internet I'm on the verge of tears as I'm certain i won't get a notification. But i do, and relief washes over me in an awesome wave.
I love Family Video. I honestly wished I had stayed in or moved back to Michigan instead of chasing a "career" in DC. Is this family video still in business?
Hey John, you still living in Indiana? Just curious, cause you said you drove to Tennessee to go to family video, but there is literally one in New Albany, IN. Figured that would be a little closer, unless you’ve moved since I’ve last watched your videos
My Family Video has a Little Caesars attached to the left of it, so I can get a rental and pizza for under $10. Not the best pizza in teh world but fine for about $5.50, cheaper then a value meal at a fast food place.
Commenting on Ready player one, I understand it may not be a perfect Spielberg film, I had a blast watching it in the theater. In fact I was the Only person in my showing that showed any enjoyment of it. Anyways I would still prefer it to his adaptation of The BFG.
I wish I could still rent films. In fact I wish Blockbuster was still a thing mainly for video-games. The amount of brand new video games I'd play would go through the roof if I could rent them rather than pay £50+ for them!
Our FlickPick, thou art on TH-cam hallowed be thy name. Thy upload come. Thy QnA be done on Tube, as it is on patreon. I never said this I will this time being John must be exhausting always moving he must have good reason to move that many times if he’s happy where is now maybe he will stay there
I'm completely out of the loop, but why do people hate Stuckman all of a sudden? I don't much like him either, but this is far from the first comment I've been seeing about him recently.
My digital library is so extensive I don't even need to subscribe to services like Disney plus or HBO Max. Sorry to have very little reason to rent movies from anywhere
renting especially 4k blu rays is so worth it you only ever want to watch a movie once anyway and they cost a bomb. I pay £13 a month and get 16 films for that. Bargain less than a pound a film.
Just like the other video, I was just looking for martial arts movies in the background. All I could find that wasn’t Karate Kid was Mile 22. And Mile 22 can burn in hell. Peter Burg absolutely failed on that one.
wait, "Family" Video has a porn section. that's like finding a glory hole in a bathroom at a Chuck-E-Cheese. Though given the state of the world now, that's probably happened somewhere too.
"Now is the time to rent! Be among large crowds of people! Touch items that have been fondled by dirty hands! Cough in unison! Drive for miles to get to a single location!"
Good thing there’s no need to lick each movie before renting it... how do you open doors in public places, buy food, pay for it? Just wash your hands and live your life man. These stores are never crowded and a great escape, especially right now.
@Collin 02456 Lol no not at all. I work in a retail store that is literally wall to wall people every day, and my cousin had it a couple of months ago and after a couple of weeks she was fine. It was rough while she had it, but everything is fine now. So no, not everything is political. People are just freaking out over something that isn't that bad. The people who are at high risk or have preexisting conditions should take precautions. Not everyone. This thing isn't just going to go away. It's a part of our lives now. Should we just quarrantine, wear masks, and stay away from people for the rest of our lives? Nope. There are multiple examples of things like this happening before. The flu, the swine flu, SARS. We have to learn to deal with it, not hunker down and stay inside for the rest of our lives.
Flick Pick: "Ready Player One is the most soulless, Spielberg movie ever made" Me, having seen it 3 times in theaters, multiple times on TV, and owns the blu-ray, and considers it a favorite film of the past 5 years: "I disagree"

Hey John this is kind of random, but I love a new Top 20 movies video from you.
Every time I hear John say 'I'm moving' I think to myself 'I've seen this one before'.

Used to love browsing my local video store...
Always some forgotten treasure waiting to be found!
Thank you for blessing us with another Flick Trip Video 🙏

If you supply the masks and sanitizer.
always nice to see any video with family video in it
Congratulations on the sponsorship John! Great decision by family video.
John just gives off good vibes in all his videos and it's extremely cathartic.
I’d rather rent than stream. Streaming is convenient, but quality can dip at any moment. Once that happens it kills it for me. (From personal experience with good internet connection)
New to channel. These flick trips are quite enjoyable! Especially during these quarantine days when we can't go to the stores 🤣 Thanks Flick Pick!
My family video closed because of covid and im sad.
I always get sad when John says how much he dislikes Ready Player One. That’s the one movie I’m always like aw
Please tell me John and Amber are still together😂 I always get scared when he says he’s moving
Lol
I was wondering that as well
On to the next new “lady friend”
As i arrive on the Internet I'm on the verge of tears as I'm certain i won't get a notification. But i do, and relief washes over me in an awesome wave.
I miss movie rental stores. Blockbuster!😃
Where at in Tennessee is this Family Video location at? I live in TN and would love to visit it. Thanks!
Huge fan John, love from India, keep up the good work!!
thank you for providing us with entertainment and inspiration while we all waste away during quarantine!
I applied for a job this year at a Family Video Store.
Not depressing I didn’t get the job because I got a great job at a terrific restaurant.
Are you moving closer to stuckman?
Just bought some of Sean Astin earlier films Toy Soldiers and White Water Summer on Amazon prime.
I went to my local video store, diego video in san juan and was tempted to enter the adult only section! 😂
John is a god amongst men
I miss blockbuster,Hollywood video and Hastings alot... i do think we have a couple local rental stores left here in Montana though
Huh? How the heck are video rental shops open? That's insane

I really just wish that the family video rental store next to me could have alot of movies like I'm seeing here.
So where do you live John?
Moving to Columbus soon.

Those are the best. In the previous Family Video trip uploaded last August, we feature the pizza place attached to the store.
All the Family Videos around my state are closed. That place sucks for renting movies the best thing is the blu-ray deals they have for purchase.
where the hells the bit u go in the back!
me and one of my friends would enjoy going to that place by riding there
I don't have a Family Video or any rental store near me. WHY did we let this happen?!! 😫😢
Commenting on Ready player one, I understand it may not be a perfect Spielberg film, I had a blast watching it in the theater. In fact I was the Only person in my showing that showed any enjoyment of it. Anyways I would still prefer it to his adaptation of The BFG.
Quite honestly, I go ahead & just buy movies that I absolutely loved then just rent the just-okay & bad ones.
How do you know you love it if you happens to have missed it in theaters or never seen it?
what's a video store?
I went to Family Video last night!! 😀😀
Well, what did you get?!
XMen Dark Phoenix 😕
I wish I could still rent films. In fact I wish Blockbuster was still a thing mainly for video-games. The amount of brand new video games I'd play would go through the roof if I could rent them rather than pay £50+ for them!
Which family video is this
Family video the best. They got good deals on grease films too it good
I still use Netflix Blu-ray in the mail, no stores near me, two amazon rentals is one month of Netflix by mail

I wonder who that Stuckman guy is. Hopefully is not a pretentious waste of space. But I have a feeling that it may be.
I'm completely out of the loop, but why do people hate Stuckman all of a sudden? I don't much like him either, but this is far from the first comment I've been seeing about him recently.
You should have a meet up at a family video

I miss video rental stores...😵
I love Ready Player One!! 😭😭😭

Ready player one ..soulless? Blasphemy! I fucking love that movie and every ounce of 80s nostalgia in it!
renting especially 4k blu rays is so worth it you only ever want to watch a movie once anyway and they cost a bomb. I pay £13 a month and get 16 films for that. Bargain less than a pound a film.
I love family video
John is basically on a tour at this point
Fuck it!, I'll admit it. Ready Player One, is one of my favourite movies. There, I said it.
Cats is my favorite movie/ play
Just like the other video, I was just looking for martial arts movies in the background. All I could find that wasn’t Karate Kid was Mile 22. And Mile 22 can burn in hell. Peter Burg absolutely failed on that one.

I love going to family video
Although i appreciate renting real movies, i understand it's over with
Yeah, you do not need to see Kindergarten Cop 2. Could not finish it. Life's too short for bad movies.

I enjoy renting movies because if theres a shit movie you want to watch you only pay 2 bucks and you don't keep the movie.
Where’s your mask doe
