I like hearing other people's names for chord shapes. Starting on guitar a very commonly taught method is called "caged" its all the shapes in one key in order up the neck before starting again. The chords get there names from what they would be in the open position. They just so happen in a singular key to spell a word in order. So I normally on banjo give my chord shape names there open names. So e, c, and g are the three shape names I use. But that spells nothing oh well. Your etymology is still far superior to Ricky miers naming system "alpha Delta gamma" lol, he's so good but that's another terminology and word to remember rather then calling a shape what it is. Simple is good. The simpler things are the more mental power you can put into making good sound and creativity
