Man that’s a lot to take in for a newbie! I so appreciate the explanation I’ll have to break , rewind, pause and scratch my head :-) I really think it will help on my banjourney. I have been playing for a bit......learning songs and cords as they come but it’s time to learn the instrument. Your awesome keep posting!
Great lesson. However since there is no such thing as a "Y" Chord. You might wanna just refer to it an "F" Shape from now on. It'll avoid any confusion and you won't waste words with the Y vs F chord...

You talk way too fast
