Your morning commute would be a lot different up there: you could travel at higher speeds and you could reach almost any remote destination. Flying cars are an excellent idea.
They would unburden traffic, extinguish hit-and-run, relieve noise pollution, be a faster and more efficient way to travel, extinguish the need for streets and physical avenues saving cities money, and also bringing more opportunities for pedestrians walked quietly.

The closest we got to flying cars was the late 1800s. People used to draw the cities of the future, and they were full of small airships everywhere. Then the early 1900s and planes came, and they started to draw things like planes stopped at red lights; it no longer made sense. Today's flying cars are just personal aircraft, subjected to very strict regulation. I'd only call it a flying car if it could float unpowered, like airships did.

They travel just short distances, like a normal car would do and also, they travel much slower and lower than a airplane. It's a car, an urban transportation, faster and efficient but still urban. Planes would exist for sure.

We can make sensors from the back and front of the car so when some one crashes into your car the sensor will be activated allowing the car to stop and if the car fall from the sky we can make a giant airbag surrounding the car for the passengers to be safe
I think magnets would play a big factor into the success and failure of flying cars. For it to work strong magnets could be installed onto buildings to prevent the cars from crashing into them. Magnets could also help with propulsion without using so much energy. And the cars would definitely have to be fully autonomous.

And I don't see why flying cars would not use any fuel to sustain their flight or drive.
