Thank you for the detailed video. It's actually got me thinking. About my wedding next year. I will be sure to add the dress code on our wedding invitations to give people some direction.
I always have a hard time dressing up for special occasions, particularly weddings! This video is so helpful. Thanks for sharing the tips. And also, you have a charming personality 😊
I'm from South Africa where weddings are fairly casual but I moved to Southern Italy 4 years ago and here they don't have a dress code for weddings and everyone is expected to dress formal. This summer we have 5 weddings. I usually buy long flowy fitted chiffon skirts and mix and match them with various tops so I don't need to buy 5 new outfits each year.
Sometimes I find it awkward because there's no dress code specified at all. In fact this is most of the weddings I attend. Personally, I love to dress up so I will always go as dressy as I can, BUT, I'm pretty sure it is bad form to dress more formally than the bridesmaids or the mother of the bride. I love the 4 -inch heels you wear but that would make me into a towering awkward giant person on the dance floor so I'm always on the look out for a super-elegant kitten heel.
My main struggle with formal dressing is: tights or no tights? In Australia or California this might not be an issue, but in Europe it certainly is. Worst are spring events when it's still only 15ºC but you don't want to look like you've just come out of hybernation anymore. 😅😅
Don't be like my childhood bestie. She wore a 2-piece WHITE SATIN SKIRT SUIT to my wedding! That pissed me off. What was she thinking?? Why white, why satin?!
Our wedding was probably semi-formal (following the European "dark/lounge suit" dress code). Most of our guests were in suits or dresses, but I think I saw a few dressy jumpsuits or trouser ensembles on the ladies too.
Yea i noticed to, for me there should not be white -that is beides colour, no black- is for funeral and probably no Hot Red- real friend don't want to upstage the bride. But there are a lot of women that dress like it is her day and not the brides hahahahha
I have 3 hearts on my left wrist and one of them is like in the exact same spot as yours. Just thought that was kinda weird ha. Also thanks for the video, you seem awesome
What about white tie? ok, I've never actually been to a white tie wedding, but technically, black tie is not the most fancy, white tie is. For ladies: floor length ballgown with long gloves, for gentlemen: smoking with tailcoat.
