It was a good thing you finally got to go there and see all of those magnificent finds. To bad the bottle was broken it was very cool. I hope the samples you brought home has some values. I really enjoy your spirit. It lifts my day to watch your videos. The content is very cool with the different adventures you take us on. Now that was a gneiss adventure. Did have a lot of schist to dodge here and there but it was sprinkled thru with some pretty vuggy quartz. Nice looking shaft, good timbering job. I wonder if it isn't a low grade silver deposit. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

    Wow....I need to learn geology. I've seen places that remind me of what you were seeing, but I don't understand geology. Should have paid better attention when I was in college, but I was taking veterinary courses and didn't have any interest in the geology course.

    • @ColoradoGoldCamp
      @ColoradoGoldCamp  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I realized that I was very into geology 10 years after college ;) We do what we can and follow our dreams as they evolve! There is always time to learn some basic concepts of geology Ron. I like, the idea of gold prospecting geology for dummies, I will attend as well! We can only apply our knowledge if it makes sense to us. Happy Holidays my Friend!

    Do you have any idea what was originally mined there prior to your walk in? FS , state or BLM ground? Could you walk an excavator or cat in and trench the ground for samples?

    • @ColoradoGoldCamp
      @ColoradoGoldCamp  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This was primarily a gold mining area with minor silver and pgm values. I wish I could Kim! There are so many places I would like to dig n trench around on. Nowadays you need like 5 permits to do anything substantial.

    It’s a long way from anything so do you think they had some kind of stamp mill. There was so many minerals around so what was the contact zone made up of

    • @ColoradoGoldCamp
      @ColoradoGoldCamp  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There were a few stamp mills in the general area. I would imagine that they carted sacks of ore by mule or burro. The mines that could not contract local processors or the ones that produces more complex ores, tended to ship the highesest grade stuff to the big smelters some miles away.

    Kinda a tease, not knowin the general location. lol Been a CO prospector since 1998, never took it to the mining and refining (4-5) level. Have a good idea, within a 10-15 mile radius, where that's at, assuming you filmed there in early winter. Not many places in CO that are snow-free at 11,000 after November. Your "wet placer cleanup" vid, I think I know the spot. Never prospected it cuz it's got multiple active claims. You're Livin the Life, wish I could do it professionally the same!
