Ben, could you please discuss changes in Keeper kit over the years? From trackies, to padded shorts and sleeves, to short sleeve jerseys - You’ve been around to see it all. Have changes in gloves made much of a difference? I imagine the different balls could be spoken about at length. Those Mitre cup rocks, versus Adidas Jabulanis.

Still remember How exotic it seemed for goalies to wear short sleeves. Next moment everyone wears em, I’d never really thought about that. When did all that happen?
@@remmidemmi496 Theat all hapend when pitches started geting better...If you take a look how the pitches looked in the 90's and early 00' all will be clear...
I will try to be short:Better pitches-trackies,padded sleeves went in history...Comfort is the answer too... Gloves are much better today then just five years ago... Materials,cuts,grip,comfort are much much better then ever before...

Great guy
He was Great for us in the Europa League. Made some big saves
His kicking was his obvious weakness, shame as he was decent otherwise.
Always had a lot of respect for rob from his time up in Newcastle.
Top bloke and was a massively underrated keeper, saved us loads of times throughout his time up here.

Love all the pods but especially the ones with professional footballers! As a Bournemouth fan I remember Rob having the absolute game of his career against us a few years ago so was waiting for him to mention it - one of the best individual displays from a GK I’ve seen live 👍🏻
As a 24 year old Charlton fan who’s Dad and family all support Charlton this was an amazing listen. Got a lot of love for Rob, fascinating insights as always
As a newcastle fan I always felt pretty good when Rob was In goal he was a very good player for us and this has been a great listen.

This is my favourite podcast. I don’t care how big time a player is rob elliot has done one of the best podcast I’ve ever listened too. One of the best down to earth guys I’ve ever listened to and as a keeper who lives in a council house and stuff it’s nice to know the reason why one glove are so cheap yet so good. He is a top guy and I’ve honestly developed so much respect for the guy since this 👍
Love hearing about the players journeys, really brings it home and gives a completely different insight for fans 👍
I just love these interviews and match vlogs. They give us a chance to see how footballers are also human people (and so nice by the way). I literally had to watch this at x0.75 speed! When Rob and Ben get talking together, it’s all so fast! If my concentration dropped for a moment I was missing stuff and had to go back!

Amazing goalkeeper Rob was for us at Newcastle. Truly a match winner when in need and someone so dependable for our younger keepers. Great to see him to at Watford and also can't wait to give his brand of a glove a go. Bought 2 pairs and keen as to try.

Played footy with Rob in my youth and remember him trialing at Chatham. He was a quality shot stopper then and a proper nice guy. Really glad he went on to achieved what he has. Well done mate.

What a great guy. Really enjoyed the Podcast (fozcast). Love listening to the GK’s like Aaron Ramsdale the other week. I was a GK, I was always not tall enough but had to go in goals at under 14’s as our keeper got sent off. From then I was hooked. My idol was Les Sealey, proper keeper he was. I played local football till about 38, but when I played I just loved having shots at me, when opposing teams were attacking I hoped they would get through and have a shot 😂, I did encourage my defenders to close and no shot or crosses but in my head at the time wanted them to let them have a shot.
Please get Big Nev Southall on the fozcast he’s an absolute Legend 💙

Sorry I don’t know the names but the blonde fella is absolutely bang on about the GK comment, with GK’s being down to earth and good normal people. I’ve seen Ramsdale and Elliott’s podcasts now and what absolute genuine nice fellas. There’s seems to be no jealousy when talking about other GK’s either, Can’t wait for the Seaman interview.

Great episode again. Interesting the bit about how family feel if a player is abused.
Just imagine being the parent of a young referee progressing through the ranks.
Only last season I’ve seen the Mum of a female referee in tears because of constant abuse from a manager (discriminatory) and I have left early twice, once when he made a mistake, the other due to abhorrent name calling.
About time you had someone from the refereeing world on to explain as such amongst other things.
