    Hey! Love your reviews. I'm curious how a jacket like this would fare in winter conditions as low as -25C (-13F)?? Im sure it gets that cold up there in Alaska. ave you tried it out in those temps?

    • @BeaverSportsAK
      @BeaverSportsAK  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, we've tried it out for 1.5 winters and can tell you that is definitely depends on what you're up to. If you're doing a lot of moving, it will keep you warm but be sure to have a baselayer + fleece underneath. It's a tough garment so it's great for activity where you know you're going to be rubbing up against rock, tree, ice, etc. If you're more stationary, you'll get cold below around 10°F. Hope that helps!

    Awesome review! I've watched all your fjallraven reviews and they're spot on. I just bought the fjallraven greenland no. 1 down parka and love the style. I was wondering which fjallraven fleece you were wearing as a mid layer (trying to find a good mid layer that will help make the jacket on warmer days)? Or any recommendations for mid layering with this jacket.

    • @BeaverSportsAK
      @BeaverSportsAK  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Awesome, hope you will love that parka! The midlayer I have on in this video is the Keb Fleece Hoodie. It seemed to layer nicely underneath the jacket, but I wouldn’t want to go much thicker. If you got your regular size in the parka and didn’t size up, I wouldn’t recommend much more than a light to mid-weight fleece for layering underneath. At least for me, the jacket is pretty fitted and doesn’t leave a ton of room. But take into consideration that it may fit you different than it fits me. You could also look at a vest, which would add some core warmth without making your arms feel bulky, which can help a lot. Patagonia Nano Puff or Micro Puff vest, Arcteryx Covert Vest, and Fjallraven Keb Fleece Vest are a few that come to mind. Thanks for the feedback and glad you’re enjoying the videos! 😊

    Leather on the zipper was very helpful with mittens. Easier to grab. Hood has down and that down is noisy. You can't hear if someone is behind you when you are walking with hood on.

    Wonderful review. Feedback: one thing I'm curious about is arm reach. With my current jackets I notice that warm jackets don't always have the best arm mobility. This would be a lovely feature for reviews. For instance: can you comfortably chop wood with it?

    Thanks for the review, it really is a gorgeous jacket! Would you say that it comes in enough of a water resistive state where it will be fine for regular/slightly harder rains or is applying extra wax recommended?

    • @BeaverSportsAK
      @BeaverSportsAK  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Yes, this is one of our favorite pieces. The jacket comes waxed from Fjallraven, but we recommend applying extra wax on the shoulders, hood, upper back, sleeves, and other areas you anticipate taking the brunt of the rain. Be especially generous with your application on the seams in those areas. We haven't made a waxing tutorial yet, but it's on the list! Would you watch a waxing tutorial if we made one? (and plz be honest😊)

    Great review guys. How does the warmth of this jacket compare with the warmth of the Nuuk or Yupik parka?

    • @BeaverSportsAK
      @BeaverSportsAK  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Ben! Thanks for the quesh. This jacket has 800 fill power down and will keep you very warm, even when it's windy. The two parkas you mentioned do not have any down insulation, but the Nuuk does extend below your waist and it does have synthetic insulation, but it's not as much as the Greenland and will not be as warm.

    Just bought this. It's amazing. Only downside for me is that I'm between a XS and S in this jacket. I have the Skogso and it fits absolutely perfect in a XS. The Greenland #1 however is a shorter jacket in general, and tighter around the hem, but the XS is just a bit too short on me. The Small is too roomy in shoulders and chest though. So I had a desicion to make, and went with the XS. I figure I'll use it as more of an everyday fashion piece or something since I have the Skogso which allows me to layer, and because the autumn leaf/night sky combo is really unique. The Greenland I can can comfortably fit a t-shirt and sweatshirt, the Skogso I can layer more, so I should be all good. Thanks.

  • @Fragolo9

    Thanks for this review, it's the best I've found. Subscribed right away!
    But I have a question about sizing: I'm 173cm for 78kg (EU size 48 for pants), 115cm for shoulder circumference, L-size for trousers. Should I go for a S size or a M one? 'Cause I don't want something too loose, and I have no fjallraven resellers in my area to try it on. What would you recommend?

    • @BeaverSportsAK
      @BeaverSportsAK  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In this case, the medium is probably the best bet. For reference, Alex is around 68 kg and 170cm tall and the S is a pretty fitted fit. If you want a real snug fit, the S could work but layering would be tough and you might experience some discomfort. Medium would be a safer bet and you would be able to layer under it, which is important to most people buying a winter jacket!

    A good review but, kind of ruined by the colour grade. I don’t know why you guys consistently use this ridiculously over saturated teal and orange look. Don’t get me wrong, having a creative spin on your content is one thing, but when you’re talking about products, especially when you are talking about colours, you’re videos don’t display colours anywhere near what their true colours are.
