Investigations was a pretty cool branch off for me going from T&T to AJ. Something that changed up the formula a little bit before going back to the regular way.

The story was pretty confusing to me (I only played it once so I may get some things wrong here); it looked like they were trying to connect every case to some smuggling ring, which didn’t make much sense to me. I could barely follow the smuggling ring plot shenanigans, just the murder plots themselves. 2. This is my biggest complaint; the characters. They were either barely memorable, extremely annoying, or incredibly out of character. I think Kay and Lang were the only characters in the game I actually liked, even better than Gumshoe or even Edgeworth himself. I don’t know what they were thinking with Edgeworth occasionally talking like Redd White and saying “Eureka!” like some sort of geeky scientist. That is just not him. And as for gumshoe, he’s just another annoying partner that follows you around making even more tacky jokes about his salary being cut (it was funny the first couple games, but it gets old really quickly, especially in this game) except this time he’s scared of blood? Okay, I get that you’d get a little squeamish on your first day, but he expresses that he’s scared of blood on the first case in the game, which takes place in the present day! He’s a fucking detective and he’s never been scared of blood in his entire prior history of ace attorney. I don’t know how they could have written two much-beloved characters, including the main protagonist, so badly, but they managed to pull it off
I've always preferred investigations to the main games. Its a bigger space of fresh air being physically at the scene of the crime and arguing with the witnesses/suspects, essentially quelling the case with hard evidence before they even make it into court. Its also more dangerous too, no bailiffs or security to help out Miles and some suspects have even tried to kill him upon blowing their covers. And its the first proper time you get to play as a Prosecutor in the series, as well as getting more of Edgeworth's inner dialogue which is a different kind of humorous to Wright; Wright has a lot of humility in his thoughts while Edgeworth is baffled and confused by the eccentricity of the people he talks to hahaha I can see characters like Gumshoe being an annoying nuisance who cant do anything useful unlike characters like Maya (who can channel her sister in desperate times/channel suspects/witnesses) but I disagree with Edgeworth, i really enjoyed following him and seeing all of his previous sprites reworked

It has a classier feel to it than the ones in the Ace Attorney Trilogy, which honest suits Edgeworth quite well, but it still has the fun and upbeat tone that gets your blood pumping hopes of finding out what's really going on here! It makes you feel like you're on the right track to find something, and you'll get it soon! On a side note, this specific song's style reminds me of Symphony of the Night. HOLY COW! Imagine Edgeworth and Alucard playing this together! That'd be so cool!!!
I mean Van Zieks looks a lot like Alucard aside from obvious differences like their hair, and I'm pretty sure he's Edgeworth's ancestor maybe, so I wouldn't be surprised

i can totally imagine Edgeworth composing and playing this on a piano, it fits his character so well with how it's sophisticated and awesome, like you finally got the upper hand in an argument and you're gonna bring it home.
This is honestly my favorite pursuit/cornered theme of all time. This has that perfect "Gotcha!" feel of any ace attorney. I remember doing the Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Tenebra event quest, which is multiplayer exclusive, SOLO, and everytime I got to the Barioth I would slap this on to help me close out the quest. This has been my ultimate go song ever since.

Well, it is the same system as MKDS, and the DS itself is considered a 32-bit system, meaning there are hardware limitations. There are other songs in this game that I think sound straight out of the N64's Paper Mario.
