What mobile Game controller do you use?

I'm thinking about getting the Gamevice FLEX so I don't have to take off my case to use it.
I do not have a mobile controller, wish I did tho.
The backbone software costs $40 for a 1 year subscription which sounds pretty cheap on paper until you consider that you're paying $3.34/mo just to use a menu.

Why haven't you mentioned the locked features on the Backbone controller that require paying extra money??
They have locked features? I was about to buy it but what’s locked?

@@jollyrancherchick the locked features aren’t a huge deal but still sucks hard, especially one feature which makes the backbone a good selling point, it being able to be connected to ps5 (ps edition) and pc as a Bluetooth controller. This requires the subscription fee which sucks

@@Valorking_the Duelshock 4 and the Duelsense are the only other ones that work with remote play
Finally. I was looking for a mobile gaming controller "showdown" kind of video where people compared the best ones, pretty much everyone you have in this video, where they go on explaining how each feel compared to one another, what their features are compared to one anther, etc., and to also explain in their opinion what one feels like the best after having tried them all, and why it feels best to them. This is exactly what I was looking for. You should think about doing one of these videos every year to keep updating this. Great video.

Thank you for the video. I have been looking for a pocket fit controller for my phone and you listed almost all the options I have on the market. It helps a lot.
I own 2 of the junglecat and I really do love the form factor. The downside is that over the years it seems support has died off. The left and right triggers are no longer recognized in many games even emulators.
It seems that they were only made to promote the razer phone and the high-end phones of that time, they were able to make a universal control like the kishi v1, which in turn is opaque to the game.
Had a backbone for a year, failed suddenly (phone thinks it has a headset connected and left joystick didn’t work), it seems a common problem. Thank you for the video, trying to get a different option

I had the first-version Kishi, and I figured out how to easily collapse it. However, after collapsing and expanding it many times, as expected, the ribbon cable couldn't take any more, and the left side of my controller stopped functioning. I got the Kishi v2, but I am not a fan of the extra buttons. To me, they just get in the way, and they can only be mapped to function exactly the same as one other specific button on the controller, which can maybe be useful to use as alternatives to clicking the sticks in, but that's about it. I kind of wish I got the Backbone One though now.
As a owner of both, the back bone sucks compared to the razer kishi. Honestly you can get some small screw drivers to disassemble the razer kishi and reattach the ribbon that’s come loose. Just a thought
@@JLambert904 It didn't come loose. The wires inside the cable broke from bending them back and forth too many times due to them bending 180⁰ in four places when you collapse and extend it.
@Xelger Yeah that happens eventually with how it is designed. Like the previous person said just get a new ribbon cable and cut off the old ones (because they are wired through back part) controller will work like new again.
@@starnett99 Well, in the end, I ended up ditching it a while back and got a Backbone, but thanks for the tip in case it comes in handy in the future.
Does the Backbone fit the Fold 4 like Gamesir or Nacom controllers?

Any of these work with a decent phone case?
Crazy how out of all these options there is only one with the D-Pad in a more ideal spot. All of the others just slap it directly under the joystick, which can make playing 2D/retro games pretty painful after a bit.

Had the kishi but it stopped working after a year. Got the kishi v2 but hate its really loose thumbsticks. Maybe it's just the 1 I got but the kishiv1 thumbsticks were better and more precise. Like trying to play Death Stranding with the kishi v2 is horrible.
if you're big in sound, it seems only backbone has 3.5 mm jack and charge port

I use to like the Kishi but it's not durable for the $100 price. (Xbox).
My first Kishi lasted a year. My second only six months. They both failed to work from the left side. So long story short I replaced it with the game sir X2 pro Xbox. And I'm really happy with that gamepad.

I have a Kishi and you are looking at the wrong side of it while collapsing it. You are supposed to look at the front and line up the tabs and it will collapse easily.

I’m new to the mobile controllers .. this video somehow left me with more questions than answers: what are the differences between Bluetooth and wired controllers, battery life, latency, weight etc.. most of these controllers seem flimsy but no comment about their reliability or durability etc ..I know this video came 7 months before the iPhone 15 , but by then everyone know it’s gonna be usbc, I was expecting a comment about software support for iOS on usbc devices ..
A Bluetooth controller is wireless and connects via Bluetooth, a wired controller needs to be plugged into the device to be used. Also most of these probably use USBC as virtually all phones use that USB type now.
Whats is the best for your opinion for S23U? Whats controllers can use with case?

I'm strictly only in need of one for mobile gaming like anime rpgs (for example punishing Grey raven or ather gazer) I'm not using it for Xbox or psn remote play. Ppl have said you have to pay for backbone software, could I still use it without? Does it hide button mapping and import features like that behind pay wall? I also perfer wired. Bluetooth is only good on pc or console I don't want latency on games I need to perfect dodge and parry

Do you feel a difference in delay response between the Bluetooth and the direct connected ones?
It's barely noticeable, however the direct (type-c) controller works without any delay and it doesn't need to be recharged - works without internal battery so it's also lighter.

Gamesir x3 for me, the cooling is really legit, i'm playing pascal's wager and typical temps im getting without my phone case is around 37-40c
Gamesir w cooling fan on, my temps are around 25-28c it is amazing.
I'm thinking of getting this but I saw one review which said quick taps of the buttons didn't register. Also, do you still have to give the software full permissions to your location to run?
I was just thinking about my Blackshark cooling fan and that I would probably not have the option to keep using it with my phone while using those controllers... And suddenly that Gamesir model appear...
It is a mush in case that with the others I can't use mine.
I've been using a Poco X3 Pro and the fan works great to keep it in a better temperature range. My S23 Ultra seems to not get hot, no matter what I play, but still a great improve if you help cooling it
So just out of curiosity the backbones cannot work with the z fold four. Cause I have a Z Fold full right now. And I'm looking for the best controller for it.

Yo, the yuzu emulator for android is out. They did mention that the emulator produces a lot of heat using the base s23. I wonder if the s23 Ultra can handle the emulation heat, or would I need the gamesir x3 to avoid thermal throttling even with the ultra.
today has out a gpu driver super nice and zelda tok mario oddissey and the thermals are really good 42C on S23 Ultra

I used to have the galaxy 20Ultra until I broke the screen 5 Months ago and I played with the first version of Razer Kishi. The note 20 ultra fits really well.

I have the Moto z4 and the gamepad "mod" but the triggers are too cramped. I get pain in my hands if i have to use the triggers. Im looking for something more comfortable but i would prefer it use usbc
Can you test if the android USB C Kishi and Kishi V2 work with the new iPhone 15?
A big issue I see with this kind of controller is that the lightning or USB-C plug is always in the phone, it will wiggle, minimal at first but in the long run it will damage the cable or worse the phone. I have an old backup which USB-C port is so damaged if I just breath on the phone it stops charging. Since phones aren't made to be repaired that shortens the lifespan of a phone drastically
I had that kind of problem with USB-C charging. Then I changed the USB-C cable to a new one and it works again. Perhaps you're due for a cable change.
Wireless charging option would be good, maybe some of these have that.

Glad to hear you are back here. In regards to the games most Android games are freem I play a lot on Xbox game pass ultimate which is a subscription game streaming service from Xbox. But that is a paid monthly service. But you should find a ton of free games on the Android play store
I use the backbone controller but it’s having issues. Have two actually but one has the issue that one side of the controller stop working and the other it makes movement on its own in game

Important info: are the triggers analog? This is a deal breaker for me.
Other important info not discussed: thumb stick dead zones, button noise, dpad precision (how reliable can you press a single direction in the dpad on each controller without inadvertantly activating adjacent dpad buttons?), Wireless performance, specific game compatibility (done of these will work with certain games and done won't), etc.
If you want all that ( which is valid) just buy a pro controller for pc it will work on your phone this is to play (mostly) on the go so...

The only reason I don't use it on my phone is that there's nothing to actually hold the phone while i game. I'm not telekinetic, sure wish I was though !

They are Bluetooth unless Miui has problems. I don't see why it shouldn't work

I wonder why most of the controllers buttons placement on the left side is the same as the switch joycon and not like the PS or Xbox controller where both joysticks and buttons are mirrored.
