Decorating for Summer | Cozy Family Room

- Hi friends! I'm so excited for you to come along with me as I decorate my family room for summer. Use new and old vintage decor plus a few things I found at Target and Home Goods recently, I'm changing things out and making our home cozy for summer time. Almost everything in this room is second hand - either bought at thrift stores, antique stores, or given to us for free. Let me know what you think in the comments!

i love your iris setter. i was blessed and had one in my childhood. she was the sweetest most beautiful dog i ever had. now i am retired and older and i have 4 boston terriers b/c i rescued 2 of them . big big difference. lol. they keep us very busy and laughing. we even take them camping b/c we have no sitters. I am in the process of refining what I decorate with. Smaller home does not require my normal decorating. Trying to find joy in simplicity.

@@Melissa.Ringstaff Very important. I'm pulling pieces this weekend for Fall decor and will decorate next weekend. I found a set of Mallards at an estate sale last weekend. Using those in the Living room with my other mallards and pictures.
So just some foliage and pillows for that room. See almost done for fall in living room. Barely added anything. LOL

I love how you decorate and I would just like to let you know for honoring our flag. when hanging our flag or displaying it either horizontally or vertically against a wall, the Union should be displayed in the same way, with the union or blue field to the left of the observer. Helpful to know.

Use your flat iron on your little flags. Also if you want you can stain those with coffee or tea. They don't get very dark, but don't look brand new- unless you like the bright white. I love the flags. We just took our faded one down and replaced it. We did not retire it. I told my husband I wanted to hang it inside. Pillows and banner are cute. Great purchase of that Campfire tin. They're usually not in great condition. Love your theme and how everything turned out. You have great pieces.

Well hello my sweet friend!! I'm sorry I'm just getting to watch this.. Life has honestly been super crazy lately🤪 So I'm trying to do some catching up! I'll send you a message on IG😕 The wreath is really cute..i night a similar one awhile back & i really like it, wish i had gotten another one. I got mine at either Beils or Hobby Lobby. I love real plants in the house. The Apt we had in TN didn't really get great lightning so i only had one pothos plant, but gave it to friend while we were there the wkend packing everything up for storage. When we find a house here I want to learn more about tropical plants, hopefully I'll have more house plants here! The oven mitts are sweet🍓 i like the way they're made too..i have a set of gray ones that actually need to be replaced, I've worn them out😄 The frame is sweet too! And the measuring spoons are super cute! Aww your fur baby is so pretty! Your home up on the hill like that kinda makes me homesick🫤 Our house sat up on a hill, girl when it snowed no one could get up that drive! lol😄 It was a big beautiful log home, the porch completely across the front with swings.. awesome mornings having coffee, especially in the Fall! They're getting ready to sell it & it breaks my heart💔We saw alot of young men's lives changed in that home! Those 5yrs we truly some of the best & happiest of my life!🥹 I think the straw bag looks really good on the peg rack with the hydrangeas. The flag on the wall looks awesome! Definitely A statement piece! The mud room looks really good. That banner is so pretty! Girl I don't even own a iron anymore..i bought a $30 steamer at Walmart a couple yrs ago & that's all i use! So much easier & you can use it anywhere. I tuck it in the suitcase when we travel to! It would work perfect for the banner & little flags! Ohh yes.. the tin..Love It❤ I really fire go with the vibe in that room! Love milk glass..i have a small collection & several lamps, 2 of which are my fav's!🤍 Changing the tablecloth really made a big difference, really Brightened up the space! Where did you get your mug rack? I'd love to have one, it has that old primitive/antique look which i love! The red tin story is so cool! I really love the scarf..i love pieces that have hand stitching on them❤ Ok..i love the table center piece, very pretty! Good job😊 If you have any lemon essential oil it'll take the litter sticker off the picture of Marlow. Put a little on & let it soak just a couple minutes & it should come right off. Maybe you could use one of your smaller quilts around the bottom of the tree?🤷♀️ I agree, the can looks really good on the harth! My dad had a set of binoculars in a case just like that one.. Cute Basket😊 I have a little handmade baby quilt..i think they're just sweet! I kept mine hanging over the back of one of my little old wood chairs. I had a milk little milk bottle with writing & the outline of a cow in red. It's in storage in NC. Well girlfriend I think the family room is very pretty, lots of pretty things & everything looks really nice how you styled it! As usual i hot VERY chatty lol did you miss that??! 😂 I've missed your videos for sure! Life just has a way sometimes! Enjoyed..ttyl😉
