I really love Kribensis too. All the fishes that I loved as a kid, are now getting introduced into planted setups/biotopes..seeing this is pure joy..thanks a lot again...
That is a spectacular piece of driftwood, I don't blame you for wanting to give it another chance. Can't wait to see how the tank ages over the next few weeks, looks really lovely already.
New & different but always another beautiful aquascape. Although I think that Crinum Calamistratum deserves a more prominent location as opposed to being tucked away as just a background plant.
You are a very talented aquascaper, but your biotype creations are my absolute favorite. This one was another great addition to your accomplished list. Can't wait to see how this all matures. I would like to set something up similar but Asian fish biotype. Take care.
Thanks for showing the whole process, even going to the fish store. I have been to that store multiple times together with a good friend, as my nephew also had worked there. Even though I did not have a tank myself at that time, I really enjoyed it over there! Special place :)
ahh so beautiful and inspiring! i love the natural look with the leaf litter and all. at 16:40 it's so cute how they were hanging out in the botanical together! cannot wait to see future updates c:
another amazing build, we have a planted display at our store with albino congo tetras, columbian tetras, and a breeding pair of kribensis (we have so many babies). your local store looks like a slice of heaven!
lovely tank i really like it im in the process of setting up a 300 litre tank im still undecided i have a synodontis petricola and a neolamprogulus bricardi to add from another tank. all the very best keep us posted with new videos please.
And... They're gone. 😂 Story of my life. Nice tank, growing plants, not even a spot of algae, but... I barely see my fish. They've been in the tank for not even a week, so I should give it some time, I guess. I like this setup, very straight forward. Although I think a black background would make the colours of the fish pop more. Curious to see what's going to happen with the other tank! 😀
Kribensis are my favourites too, but be prepared they might rearrange your scape I have 2 generations from my pair had to split mum and dad up because she bashed him and the kids are in grow out tanks Beautiful tank set up too can’t believe you’re paying for “Aquarium Mulch” 😅 Thx again from Oz 🇦🇺🥰
This is a really unique tank idea. Other than the lake cichlids, african fish don't get a whole lot of mainstream attention over here in the states. I want to set up an African river tank now 😂 thanks MJ
These are extremely popular in the US. While the aquascaping prestige plants stuff are lacking for us in the US and I am always envious of European aquascapers
I’m not gonna lie that bag of mulch for a natural tank is a really great idea! Tank turned out great hopefully you’re planning on using the other tank to house their babies once they mature
Hi, something new and very different, if you stepping to biotope, I recommend to look at Bartłomiej Paśnik tanks, he is a polish master of biotopes. I know he is more in to cold water fish, but anyway, is good to look at.
The bristlenoses shown at the end of the video appear to have small white dots attached to their bodies. Might be oxygen bubbles, hopefully not Ichthyo.
love the natural look and i also have the nymphaea plant too but a smaller one, greetings from cebu, philippines keep on scaping and inspiring new aquascapers 😊
Really nice looking scape and those Kribensis were a good choice. I am still in the process of choosing centrepiece fish for my new 90p and something like this pair would be perfect - if I can find them - or similar. All the best from the UK.
Man i love these projects so much, guess that the theme aquarium is my type of scape, i love to see the interactions that could possibly happen also in the nature
Lovely tank! I've been doing some reading on African fish and a biotope like this is something I'd love to do myself someday. Some very beautiful, yet relatively unknown, fish over there like those Tetras!
Love that you've gone for a biotope scape this time. ❤ The wood is a great choice as are the kribensis. I'm also loving the Norman's Lampeyes, a very underrated dither fish imho. Another great scape but not Dutch style this time. Great content. Look forward to the updates.
Random thoughts: Wrap the wires with the glass film, to make them "less dark", so they don't show as much? Coat the wood in CA glue to prevent it from clouding the water?
Beautiful aquarium, I really enjoyed the biotope style. The botanicals are a nice extra touch. Sorry if you've already answered this, but what do you use to fill up your tanks? Is it a hose attached to an indoor tap? Cheers!
Are those common bristle nose plecos? I’ve never seen them with spots , for a moment I thought they were snowball plecos but at the end I noticed the tail and the weird patterns on the back.
I hid the cables in a white plastic profile for cable fixing. It's near impossible to see, that there's anything behind the tank despite the milky background.

I love the natural look of it especially Nymphaea plant. Greetings from sunny and hot Croatia
Beautiful mate looks great awesome lower tech build
I like that you gave information about the plants 👍.
I really love Kribensis too. All the fishes that I loved as a kid, are now getting introduced into planted setups/biotopes..seeing this is pure joy..thanks a lot again...
this is really beautiful! That wood. Wow
I see that you always approach each aquarium specifically and this is the level of aquaristics 👍😎
That is a spectacular piece of driftwood, I don't blame you for wanting to give it another chance. Can't wait to see how the tank ages over the next few weeks, looks really lovely already.
Beautifuk Tank.....love the use of mulch, makes it look line a natural river seen. cant wait ti see the update and how everything grows
Amazing video, I literally could listen to your voice al day, so peaceful and mellow. Wow. Hello from the Uk.🇬🇧
Your voice is so peaceful to hear and this biotope 😍
Wow! A very beautiful tank and setup. I love schools of small fish in an aquarium!
Best after a long time!! Love Biotope 👌
Love lampeyes, they are very underrated in the hobby imo. Some of the coolest fish. My favorite killifish by far
Great video. I also kept Kribensis in my youth. Understand your nostalgia.
A great natural recreation. Looks so calm and peaceful.
New & different but always another beautiful aquascape. Although I think that Crinum Calamistratum deserves a more prominent location as opposed to being tucked away as just a background plant.
😍😍 beautiful scape MJ! Lovely selection of fish especially the lamp eyes! They’re on my to buy list :)
Those first Kribs were stunning.
You are a very talented aquascaper, but your biotype creations are my absolute favorite. This one was another great addition to your accomplished list. Can't wait to see how this all matures. I would like to set something up similar but Asian fish biotype. Take care.
Loving the natural scape-very nice
For some reason I already had this idea in mind from last month, so basically I can use this as a reference of sort during setup
I've got a lot of love for Kribs. You will have thousands of them before long though regardless of parameters.
With the two sticks (you took out), the hard scape looked like a Picasso sculpture!
This is exactly what I’ve been looking for, for inspiration. I love these kinds of scapes and you executed it perfectly, for me at least.
Thanks for showing the whole process, even going to the fish store. I have been to that store multiple times together with a good friend, as my nephew also had worked there. Even though I did not have a tank myself at that time, I really enjoyed it over there! Special place :)

Really cute right? 😊 and now imagine that with a large swarm of babies 😁
another amazing build, we have a planted display at our store with albino congo tetras, columbian tetras, and a breeding pair of kribensis (we have so many babies). your local store looks like a slice of heaven!
Love your work mate 👍🏻🏴
I love it. Really like the biotop/natural style your created.
lovely tank i really like it im in the process of setting up a 300 litre tank im still undecided i have a synodontis petricola and a neolamprogulus bricardi to add from another tank. all the very best keep us posted with new videos please.
Nice step by step biotope 👍🏻
Beautiful Tank!!!🎉
I like this scape a lot. It’s similar to one I have for my apistos.
Love the biotope Mark! Great work.
Cool setup for the kribensis Mark.
And... They're gone. 😂

Beautiful! Awesome long-term choices. Cant wait to see how everything settles in and every colors up. Cheers!
Wow! Love the fish. Haven't seen any of them before. The tank looks amazing😍

Thanks buddy for idea😁👍🏼👍🏼🔥🔥🔥
Interesting tank and beautifully done!
Love it! I'll hope in the dark places on the left the plants will have enough light to grow healthy. 😉
I’m not gonna lie that bag of mulch for a natural tank is a really great idea! Tank turned out great hopefully you’re planning on using the other tank to house their babies once they mature
Yeah it’s going to be interesting to see what happens when they get babies and how many will survive
Definitely! Also I’ve never heard of those jelly bean tetras excited to see how they look once mature
Great video Mark. Love biotopes!
Hi, something new and very different, if you stepping to biotope, I recommend to look at Bartłomiej Paśnik tanks, he is a polish master of biotopes. I know he is more in to cold water fish, but anyway, is good to look at.
❓️Why did you use a different filter? Interesting video, thanks!
The bristlenoses shown at the end of the video appear to have small white dots attached to their bodies. Might be oxygen bubbles, hopefully not Ichthyo.
Noticed this as well, looks like ich
Yeah I see it now as well... I'll keep an eye on it

Nice biotope scape and goodl fish choice 👍🏻
Pelvicachromis taeniatus are also wonderful fishes.
Lovely tank! I've been doing some reading on African fish and a biotope like this is something I'd love to do myself someday. Some very beautiful, yet relatively unknown, fish over there like those Tetras!
Excellent video! Love the sneak peek at the 2nd tank as well ❤
This one came up really nice and natural.
Can't wait to see it all grown in!
I actually really like the yellow tinge in the water as well.
Love that you've gone for a biotope scape this time. ❤
The wood is a great choice as are the kribensis.
I'm also loving the Norman's Lampeyes, a very underrated dither fish imho.
Another great scape but not Dutch style this time. Great content. Look forward to the updates.
I’ve always wanted to see two tanks next to each other with one hard scape that flows through both of them
it's really beautiful ❣️
Update 👍🏾
WOW 👌😊
Random thoughts:
Wrap the wires with the glass film, to make them "less dark", so they don't show as much?
Coat the wood in CA glue to prevent it from clouding the water?
Prachtig
Beautiful aquarium, I really enjoyed the biotope style. The botanicals are a nice extra touch.
Sorry if you've already answered this, but what do you use to fill up your tanks? Is it a hose attached to an indoor tap? Cheers!
Yeah a long hose attached to a submersible pump. The pump goes in my kitchen sink, and that's how I fill it up
Are those common bristle nose plecos? I’ve never seen them with spots , for a moment I thought they were snowball plecos but at the end I noticed the tail and the weird patterns on the back.
Yeah common bristle nose plecos! I think they have spots when they are young, and after a while they kind of fade out.
@@MJAquascaping makes sense I never seen common in my local fish shops just the albino types not even the reds .
I hid the cables in a white plastic profile for cable fixing. It's near impossible to see, that there's anything behind the tank despite the milky background.
Smart! I might copy it 😎
What were them yellow colored fish next to the first pair of kribensis? Were they a variety of Jewel cichilids
Yeah looks like it! They are called Rubricatochromis sp. 'Guinea I'
Thanks MJ
They are a type of hemichromis jewel with turquoise colouring. They look yellow because of the lighting.
Have you ever glued stuff together so well that u cant break it apart and cant get it out of the tank anymore? How did u solve that if yes? :D
Never happened 😅
Bravo from Romania Dracula land ❤
Cichlid are a bit expensive in India
What filter do you use in like fluvel edge 23?
Yo bro we need an update on the dirted vs aqua soil tank. It has been a year i think. or did i miss an update?
You probably didn't see this video th-cam.com/video/Yvw0qjsNVQc/w-d-xo.html

@@MJAquascaping dankje voor de info
I do like cribs but for a scaper they dig a lot and messes up the tanks. Secondly they breed like crazy should have a plan for the babies
Tips: never put the rhizome of your crinum calamistratum into the soil. This plant must be planted like an anubia
Cosa ai messo nel fondo
having sound problems watching this goes on and off
i really like your videos, but as a side note seeing that empty space between the 2 identical tanks makes my eye twitch :D.
Really? 😬 I actually like it that way hahaha
I have kribensis fish but I don't like it, there eating my shrimps nd small fish
man those oase styline tanks dont look as good as the opti whites..
First :)
“Beginner line” meanwhile these tanks are over 400 dollars. Entry level my arse. No one is spending that on their first Aquarium, what a joke. 😂
