    That vase is quite incredible. You've done a fantastic job there. Try the yellow shrimp. The brighter and more banana yellow, the better: they show up against absolutely any surface/background (unless you have a pale beige coloured substrate). I love mine: they are easily visible from a couple of metres away: much more so than the blues and reds in my other tanks...

    I really love how the vase turned out, tough I think that the 25L are still not enough space to keep otocinclus inside that tank or fish at all especially if you bear in mind that they like to in a group of at least 4-6 fish. Still love your videos and your aquascapes but I just wanted to mention that point.

    • @typicallyusual6984
      @typicallyusual6984 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree, especially with the dimensions. It really doesn’t have the horizontal swimming space fish need. If it was a 25L long tank then very small fish might be possible.

    This was great! As someone looking to get into the hobby, do you have how-to videos for fish acclimating, plant “planting”, etc?

    • @MJAquascaping
      @MJAquascaping  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't really have separate videos in those topics.
      I acclimate fish preferably by floating the bag in the aquarium for 30 minutes, after that I will open the bag, and every few minutes I add a little bit of tank water to the bag. 30 minutes later I will release the fish. Now some people don't like to add ''shop water'' to the tank, but I trust my local shop, so its fine.
      For planting you definitely want to get some tweezers. I have a small one for delicate tissue culture plants, and a larger one for bigger potted plants.

    Love it. I have tried setting up a vase 3 times now and each time water fouled and I had to take it apart. I am used to weekly 50% water changes on my Hightechs but these vases don’t work for me at all. How often do you change water 2-2 weeks from setup? And how much after let’s say a month? Thanks

      Hey! Sorry to hear it didn't work for you. Depending on the brand of aquasoil that I'm using I will usually do quite a few water changes in the first two weeks, like every other day or so. After two weeks it's usually just one water change, and after 1 month either once a week or sometimes once in two weeks.

    What does this tank look like in a month? Do you feed your shrimp? Have you ever had one crash on you. Mine just crashed, nothing I could do, had to start from the beginning.
