A very useful video on using the Hiro Chuck - now I may remember better "open" & "closed." Thanks Miss Martha - I agree with Jeff P. - you ROCK! Marc in Colorado
After pumping air, when removing the chuck, does it come off? Or do you have to break a seal? I need a chuck that removes with ease to prevent tugging on the valve.
Depends on how far you push it onto the valve.. the Hiro is preload adjustable so it can clamp on the valve core and not open the valve, or set it wider and clamp on the valve stem and it will hold the valve open
You know what I do that's super efficient? I buy more than one gasket, then lose them all in the forever it takes them to go bad, then buy more than one again, and promise I'll leave them somewhere I'll definitely remember. NOPE. Love the chuck, changed my life at TT races being solo with a disc wheel. The only one I'd trust to help me is Martha anyway.

Glad it was helpful!
Imagine myself rewatching this 5 years later for whatever reason
Martha rocks.
If the stainless steel version and carbon steel version were the same price - which would be the better option to buy?

The chuck has a lever that clamps the valve, so when you release that, it releases the valve stem, so no pulling force on the valve when removing.
Does the chuck allow pressure reading when no air is flowing? Is the valve kept open by the chuck or will it close once the air flow stops?

Great chuck. Love Silca. But would be nice to support Schrader as well as Presta.. like the Jaco chuck.
Hiro, Chuck, and Dave.
