  • This one of those times that you can modify the car by fixing it. Yes it is possible ;) it's also the best way to modify the car. It does not require to spend the money to replace perfectly working parts.
My rear suspension was dead. There is no other way to say it. The dumpers were shot and the car drove like waterbed. Now it's like driving on rails. No way of any unwanted behavior and it's very predictable.
Installing coilovers is also one of the easiest mods you can do to your car. I highly recommend it. Just take under consideration that the ride will be a lot stiffer. So sometimes lowering springs with standard shocks may be better choice. For me tho it was first time that I bought coilovers for the car and it was kind of an experiment.

Merry Christmas to you❕The ride will definitely improve❕ It’s an easy job and also it’s pretty quick. What coils did you get❔ I wonder what will be your impression 🙂

Old rusted and not working shocks vs new shiny working coils 😎 driving on the old ones was pretty terrifying 🤣

Haha I’m glad I helped you make bad financial decisions 😂😂😂 it’s very hard to say because my old shocks and springs were so broken it’s a miracle I didn’t die 😉 I think when I measured it was 3-4cm after all the adjusting

Do you have a link to the specific suspension you installed? I just bought a mk2 Jetta I want to upgrade the same! Thanks!!

I bought it of something like polish eBay. You can search for it under “MTS Gold” should be for both mk2 Golf and Jetta. It’s a bit stiff but I got used to it and I like it. Really impressive in turns for such small car with this coils 😉

How long typically for suspension to settle? Is a short drive enough?
