Depends. As I said, always shop while wearing a sweater or sweatshirt. I don't think you should go with more than 1 layer as that will restrict you to wear your jacket on normal winter days.

I don’t think they have crazy wind and temperatures that goes -20…you can take it easy there…it’s raining all the time though so make sure to buy waterproof

Thanks Lalita, I would also suggest to buy winter gears from Canada. For kids, the best brand to buy winter jackets is Oshkosh from Carters. They have upto -30 degrees temperature resistant jackets and those look beautiful too. For bottom wears, generally people wear long warm socks and long winter boots and those work well for most.
the worst part is we need to take tips also for buying basic normal things in Canada! Wow what quality of life in Canada! Itna soch soch k jeene ko jeena bhi bola jata hai...waaah
Hey Mitalee…it’s not compulsory to take tips for anything in life…as we did when we landed here, bought whatever jackets we liked without giving it much thought but for many, it’s a big investment..Canada has weather up to -50 and jackets are necessity…it doesn’t hurt to take advice or tips before spending any $$…rest u can always learn from ur own experiences as well
These are very heavy jackets better buy chargeable heated jackets, light to wear and heating can be turned on/off. Easy to wear while driving and no need to take of indoors
