This is insane. The anxiety I got from watching this. At the same time, it's incredible! Tornadoes can be beautiful and ugly at the same time. The screaming is over bearing but I understand how passionate and exciting this can be at the time. Dude, your screaming at the camera men to capture it while they are literally capturing it. thats because they are..... their are specific things to look for to tell if its violent..... all violent means is high wind speeds their are plenty of cases....edited out.... where they dont say "violent tornado" but when you see 6 sub vortexes and shit flying around horizontal.... that IS!!!!! violent you could stand in an F1.....as long as it didnt hit a poorly built shed or something heck, in NE montana we have normal winds that reach F1 levels....

I also wanted to be a storm chaser and meterologist because of Twister. I was maybe 5 years old when I saw that movie for the first time and it became my dream. Forget being a princess or popstar, my current goals, this was way better. Unfortunately when I became 9 or 10 I developed ligyrophobia which I mistaked for astraphobia. I found the storms awe inspiring, beautiful, etc but the noise... it was just to much. I moved on to other sciences while still looking into this whenever I had a moment. No degree yet but I feel all of us that love science started somewhere and mine was Tornadoes. I have no way of knowing if Dr. Timmer will see this. However I wanted you to know I found your talent, charisma and science inspiring in Storm Chasers. So when I saw you had another show, as I looked for more on Tornado's, I was thrilled. One can see how much you really love what you do, no matter how tiring or stressful it probably must be to not be at home nightly. It's funny seems like driver is always the newest guy I'm sure everyone hates driving so Reed is constantly yelling at them by the end of the day they must feel exhausted from sheer fear of being killed by a tornado. I watched him live last night and he said "massive, devastating tornado on the ground ahead" then proceeds to drive for 30 minutes and nothing is there.

If you want a safer option, you can always go on a tornado chase with trained professionals. I am unfamiliar with the roads in the USA and that’s a recipe for disaster. I have noticed that there are many tours but I am going with two well known safe chasers that are very skilled and are never going to put anyone in a position where they are at risk.😊😅

Tornados are actually just wind but they pull the clouds to the ground and you can tell when they are on the ground for all the dirt and stuff that dogs around and I know this because my brother is a storm chaser
Just because the condensation funnel does not *appear* to go all the way to the ground is irrelevant, if there is ground circulation under it, it's on the ground.

Such top notch camera work. El Reno was so low contrast most videos don’t really capture what’s going on inside the circulation, but you can actually see past the rain here to reveal the parent funnel and all the suction vortices carouseling around it.

I am more cognizant & a little sensitive because I now live in Tornado alley and no shelter if one was to drop. We have tried to get a home improvement loans to purchase a shelter. Majority of the banks and loan companies use Experian which shows that we don't have any credit which sucks. I wish Lubbock housing authority and FEMA could help us but I was told that we were an area that is not covered for federal assistance. I am tempted to make my own shelter with a dome style sand bags.

@@jenniferbossert2088 Good day for Chasers but a bad day for the people and animals in it's path. I am more cognizant & a little sensitive because I now live in Tornado alley and no shelter if one was to drop. We have tried to get a home improvement loans to purchase a shelter. Majority of the banks and loan companies use Experian which shows that we don't have any credit which sucks. I wish Lubbock housing authority and FEMA could help us but I was told that we were an area that is not covered for federal assistance. I am tempted to make my own shelter with a dome style sand bags.
