Clark Sisters are the GOATS 🔥🔥🔥

This was one of the songs my mom and I would dance to in the kitchen while making Sunday dinner growing up. The Clark Sisters are one of the largest influences on Jill Scott, Yebba, Jennifer Hudson, Beyonce, Jojo, Jessie J, Jasmine Sullivan… and many more.

Same here ❤ I grew up on this song! Listening to the cassette tape when my Dad played it in his car.

It's SOUL. It can't be taught!!! Karen Clark is definitely a lead trumpet!

Can we talk about how she did this with braces? Top and bottom! As someone who wore braces and is a singer, the amount of change your mouth goes through can affect your singing capability. It takes an extreme level of singing chops to maintain such a high quality of singing during and after braces. Karen is just amazing!

    • @LiTim17
      @LiTim17 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Not really, and of course not to take anything away from Karen, but braces don’t make that much of a difference unless you have appliances such as bands that limit jaw movement or things such as separators that cause so much pain that doing anything hurts. Coming from someone with them.

This is pure genius, and Karen Clark-Sheard, has secured her place in history, as one of the worlds giant's and greatest singers.
Karen Clark-Sheard, has taken singing dynamics, to a whole new level.
    Thanks for sharing... In addition,
The track, from the Clark sister's new album 'The Return' - entitled 'HE CAN' - all the sister's shine, however, Karen and Twinkie's performance - is out of this world.
Karen - drops in a note - I have called the 'piano slide' - Simply incredible.

Her sister Twinkie Clark wrote this song. She may have produced this song originally too.

What you will soon notice, her sister Twinkie is a musical genius. She wrote and arranged all of their HITS. this song and Jesus is a love song(which you reacted to as well) was written back in the 80s. And it was a huge hit back then. The Clarks often will remix their old classics on their solo and recent group projects. They sample themselves lol. 🤣🙌🏾💯

Man your reaction to this is so cool. We grew up listening to this style of music and never understood how anyone could NOT know who these amazing talents were..literally nobody outside of pentecostal circles in the UK has a clue who John P Kee, Clark sisters etc are...its a crying shame because musically gospel artists are 11/10

I would suggest a live performance by Fred Hammond...true musicianship on full display... any song.. anytime. My humble observation is that Fred Hammond and the Clark Sisters have one thing in common... they are Psalmists.❤❤

A heavenly voice that touches the soul. Sohyang, the world's best diva, praised by Seth Riggs, father of vocal teachers, and David Foster, producer of Whitney Houston.
Please listen to and respond to the song of Sohyang, a Korean national treasure singer who covered Whitney Houston's song. It will be a choice you will never regret.

      . . . 😂
**NOTE: "World's Best Diva." Sit your behind down. 💺
. . . I'll NEVER understand why some people are of the belief that whenever anyone of another race mimics or "copycats" Black talent; singing/vocal ability, dance moves, etc; we're supposed to get excited and say, "Oooh! Good job! Just like the original!" 👏
. . . NO! 🙄 Whitney Houston was Whitney Houston and her anointing cannot be duplicated or imitated.
"Korean national treasure" can go to hell. ---->>>> 🔥
. . . The world LOVES Black "swag" but hates Black people.

The reason why you can’t play the way these gospel musicians play it’s because you don’t have the same spirit they have. You can have the talent but it won’t sound the same if you don’t have the same spirit. Next time play or sing from your soul.
An example of having the correct spirit is the three tenors sung a gospel song in their way but it had no meaning. It did not touch your soul the way a gospel singer would have song the same song.

13:50 you said “she’s never too shrill” as a longtime Stan of Karen she is a bit shrill a lot of times actually but as a whole we like to chump it to her age. When she was bigger she wasn’t shrill unless she was hoarse or just flat.

I'm new here and i'm loving your reactions to all things "Clarks" 😃, they're the greatest, but I think its time you get some Le'Andria Johnson on here, you won't be disappointed. I recommend you start with Jesus Live, or Be Grateful!
