I've really enjoyed the G20. It has just been updated to Android 13 and gets monthly security updates. It can be a little slow sometimes. I bought it two years ago and the build quality is great. However I wouldn't recommend buying a G20 May 2023. I will probably replace it with a Samsung A14. The current Nokia range is underwhelming.

I use this as a holiday phone, amazing battery, all friends are running out of juice and i'm hot spotting internet, finding our way around and still have 30% batttery when we get home at the end of the day. It's a perfect phone for a task, not ideal for content creation as too slow.

The Nokia G50 is a much better value with 5G, a Qualcomm chipset, and it's barely more expensive. Still quite impressive that the G20 will get Android 12 and 13. Content consumption should be just fine with this.

Hi Adam. First time here on your channel. As a long time Nokia fan and user, I appreciate that you're highlighting this phone for what it is. India has one of the most competitive smartphone markets out there and it's sad to see Nokia unable to gain traction here.
PS You should also mention if we are able to watch content on OTT platforms in HD or Full HD. It's a very important feature.

That's some great feedback. There's things I miss and I'm glad when others bring it up. It helps a lot. This phone is a good phone for what it is no way can I compare this to an iPhone 13 it's just not the same price or weight class lol but I see people do that stuff all the time. That's why I don't like comparing products too much on my channel.

My Nokia G20 turns always on whenever I put it in the bag. Then, while talking to sb the loudspeaker turns on and if I siwtch it off, it will switch on again. The same with the flashlight - it switches on randomly during a phone call. Then the side swipe is difficult to operate when using google to return to the previous site - I have to swipe a few time with dubious success. The sound of the calls is to low - I have to strain my ears. ... HAS ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCED ANYTHING LIKE THAT? WHAT DID YOU DO ABOUT THE PHONE THEN?

I have this phone for just about half a year and it's painfully slow, apps are freezing and crushing. . . I am not sure if it's the phone's fault or if it's not properly optimised, but recently even system UI started crushing and in my experience, and the last phone I had that did that didn't last for very long. Even the camera isn't all that great not because of the quality of the pictures, but because the focus is horrible and there is often a long delay between pressing the button and the picture being taken. This was a disappointment, because a decent camera of a deciding factor for purchase. I miss my Samsung Galaxy A20, which I lost in the bus. It was cheaper, but seemed to perform reliably better despite having lower parameters.

I bought one today $145 at best buy. I got it because I needed an unlocked android phone with GPS to use the GPS receiver with my Icom amateur radio that doesn't have GPS built in. the only app that does this was through android platform.
I'm an iphone user so I didn't need the g20 activated, just needed the GPS and android apps.
This device is extremely slow to download a small and simple app and the charging takes forever compared to iphone.
start up time is slow also. iphone is awake as soon as I pick it up.

    Hey Adam, nice video.
So I need your/others advice too.
Basicly I am on a budget and I want a phone, I'm not a hardcore gamer so I will barely use it for games, all the other aspects seem OK with me, the main thing that makes me want to buy G20 is battery. So would you recommend this phone for someone who's budget is like MAX 200$, if not what's alternatives?
    -Thanks

    • @TechOutAdam
      @TechOutAdam  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Absolutely I’d recommend this phone being a good phone under $200. I haven’t had any problems with it still. The gaming was actually the only thing I found to be an issue in its price range but that’s expected. I like this phone a lot.

It's a phone I would purchase for a parent or elderly that don't really need a phone for more than just call / text and light social media scrolling.
I had to use this phone for a week while I waited for an s20 to arrive and I wanted to test it see how it would perform for my work environment.
Processing power meant it struggles jumping between apps, the side finger print is a pain and the camera resolution looks terrible although the photos look OK once you view them elsewhere as you discussed.
I purchased 120 of these handsets to use in a work project and for the price its a good buy as we won't use them for anything too demanding however if you are someone that does use the phone a lot for more than just calls / texting I would look at spending a little more.
