I am a big fan of Islay single malts, and Laphroaig Quarter Cask is one of my favourite budget whiskies.

Yes it really does quite a lot! It's lesser, but also different, shifting from a medicinal peatiness to more of a campfire smoke. It's really interesting.
Congratulations mate. Not a bad gift to give yourself. I know you said it was more of an accompaniment , but I’m still surprised there was even that much peat present at 25 years. I wonder at what age statement a Laphroaig would taste completely unpeated

Congrats on your youtube milestone, Wade. That's a special bottle, used appropriately to mark your birthday. When I turned 50 I toasted with two 25 year olds, but they were low ABV with E150a. I should have gone with one very good CS 25 year old.
