Hi Matt - Thank you for the shout out 👍 Great demo - the SM is absolutely one of the best reverbs for ambient and it has a massive :-) range of options. Yes, hard to believe it's free 🤔
I found both the Hall of Fame 2 pedal from TC Electronics and the BigSky from Strymon to be really great pedals, though for ambient music the BigSky is the winner between those two. I also had an Alesis Midiverb at one time which was pretty nice but unfortunately I moved on from it. I wish I'd spent a little more time exploring that unit. But I'm still confident that the BigSky would have been the best. Thanks Brad!
yeah, I love supermassive... that and Pro-R are my most favourite software reverbs but lately I have been using my Lexicon MPX 500 hardware effect unit for some pretty awesome reverb... not as good as supermassive, of course, but still pretty damn good
Awesome - thanks for the feedback! There is definitely something to be said for using hardware as well, both for effects and instruments. Plugins are nice but it's hard to beat the hands on experience you get with hardware. Thanks for stopping by!
@@mwmusic29 yeah, I am really enjoying my hardware right now, but I love all my soft synths and sample libraries too, of course anything that makes a noise really! cheers, Matt 🙂
Great reverb plugin indeed. I have already made a first cosmic piece using serveral presets with it (th-cam.com/video/glW2sRrqtjo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=vt4EdEeEuvF_DLhg) Thanks, Matt!

Terrific topic Matt! Being that I am DAWless, with your experience, what hardware reverb's are best for ambient music? Thank you!

Matt, yes its sounds massive alright. ( can you sniff out some free hardware ones :) )
Haha - I’ll see what I can do! 😆
