The Michael Jordan Crazy Horn & Sirens Game | Epic Chicago vs New York Battle

  • During Michael Jordan's career, there were so many thrilling contests between the Chicago Bulls & the New York Knicks. This game would feature 15 ties & 22 lead changes, and that was with 3:30 left to go in the 4th quarter! This was another thrilling back and forth contest.
Michael Jordan had a reputation for being an aggressive scorer. Jordan put up so many points and so many shots. Yes, he could isolate and get his own bucket, even against help defense. Jordan was tactical with his scoring. His approach was surgical. He mastered the art of timing his aggressiveness. He took shots within the flow of the offense, but when the situation called for it, he put on the Superman cape & took the game over. That's what stats will never tell ANYONE. When, how, and why someone scored or produced a stat.... They'll NEVER be able to quantify that. With Jordan, however, you saw him respond time & time again, when his team needed him the most... while playing within the flow, the rest of the game. He was a chess player, not checkers.
But back to that siren.. or scoreboard... or was it the fans? Well, at first the announcers thought fans were using noisemakers in the crowd to distract the players. All the while, this noise is an extremely annoying listen, and the noise is drawing boos from some of the fans. Turns out, it was not a noisemaker, it was not the fans... in fact it was the scoreboard malfunctioning! The sound the scoreboard makes is rather dramatic, so be forewarned.
This footage contains VHS tracking "flickering" where the picture will bounce up & down at times. During the VHS era, this was a common occurence with VHS recordings. It does take a bit to adjust your vision with the tracking issue, but this is such an awesome game! Enjoy!

This kinda game really quintessential Jordan. Making plays on both sides of the ball in crunchtime. He did that until he was on his last legs during the 2nd 3peat. "That's what greatness is all about. You gotta want the ball in crunchtime."
BTW, those late 80's Knicks teams were lowkey stacked. And way ahead of their time in terms of style

yes. GOAT at 35 yrs of age needed to save that energy for offensive load thanks to pippens injury and shenanigans. Today's NBA fans just dont understand how unprofessional Pippen was in 1998 season. He was sabotaging the team chemistry just for a trade. I think 1994 MJ baseball made his body heavy in 2nd 3-peat. He had big shoulders and heavier legs thanks for baseball muscles. 1995 comeback season, he used up all his athleticism for remaining games and playoffs at age 32. that was the last MJ who played all out despite lack of conditioning. 33 yrs old MJ was heavier, getting winded, couldnt chase on defenses as he was clearly passed his prime and baseball heavy legs did not help either. reason, that 2nd 3-peat is extra, extra special. 1998, 35 yrs GOAT was done. Pippen and Krause sabotaging the team, you got very old team, opponents got way better both UTAH and INDIANA. I remember telling my friends in 1998 EC finals vs Pacers, game 6 when MJ fell. I was like. 5 rings are great. 3peat, repeat isnt bad at all. so glad, MJ did not had to play two game 7s in 1998 season, They barely escaped pacers. Pippens back was done. cant imagine winning Game 7 in utah. MJ knew it and that is when GOAT happened in Game 6.

Those Knicks teams were very good 88-91... Then 92-95 they were great. 96, very good. 97 Great, 98 good, 99 very good to great and 00 very very good.
Never enough tho. Got really close numerous times consistently and beat alot of good playoff teams and dominated a few
