The gun is actually mounted pointing a few degrees down as the recoil is so strong that when the gun fires, it actually lifts the nose of the plane slightly and its that lifting of the nose that actually brings the gun to line up with what the pilot is sighting.
This is not true. The main gun is mounted slightly to the port side of the fuselage so the firing barrel is perfectly lined up to the center and slightly below the plane's center of gravity.. There is no downward angle.

I started watching your videos this week and been binging a lot. I haven’t played WT in a good 5 years and decided to download and boot up only to have my account progress reset so now I have to restart from the beginning. But at least I get some good content with your videos!
At top tier it's fun to see all of 'em come in. Though when 90% of your team is SPAA and absolutely prepared for it.... they don't fare so well. 70% of German 8.7 teams at the moment are Bagleitpanzers. It's a slaughter if the A-10s don't know how to use AGM-65s properly.
It doesn't take much to break the lock on a maverick. Smoke up and move 10 feet, your safe. Just gotta be paying attention. At least you can see the a10, the ka50s are a much sneakier issue, and that stupid missle they shoot kills planes, tanks and other choppers.

I played a game in 10.0 Germany on American Desert earlier today. I spawned into my Leo 2A4, capped C cap, got a kill, and died. I figured, why the hell not, take out the FlakRakPz to see what happens (I carry a full lineup, not just the 2A4 + SPAA). 6 SAM kills, all of which were A-10s. The A-10 truly is food for SPAA. You have to make sure to either climb as soon as you spawn in or get really low and fast to avoid those radar pings. Air superiority is key with the A-10, and it cannot reliably obtain that on its own.
You said ones there's a challenge to kill a Tiger with a small American tank I don't remember which one but that it historically happened, that's a video I really want to see from you, anyway I'm glad you feeling better and that you have fun again in warthunder maybe you were just burned out? I enjoy the a-10 especially in sim. I’ve been able to grind around 175,000 silver lions in 15 minutes. I bombed two bases and shot down 3 enemy aircraft.
The A-10 is a great vehicles, but it is lacking in defenses. It requires the US to have full air superiority and the ground defenses to not have SAMs of any kind. It has a huge potential in dishing out a lot of damage though and it is pretty tough.

Well the sidewinders are actually really good especially in ground rb where missiles aren't highlighted to the enemy. Stukas don't really have that great of an anti air loadout where the a-10 at least has a bit going for it there.

That's not a thermal image, that's the black and white image of the Maverick. When you aim with a Maverick, you look through the tracking camera of the missile. This is why there is no camera pod on those planes and the image is so bad, compared to things like the Jaguar. The Maverick D (Aim-65d), had thermals, by the way. But it's the missile that has it, not the plane.

He also G overload. So they would’ve clipped his wings for a while. And the craft would for sure be decommissioned.
