I have watched so many videos trying to fix my slice. You have given me many tips that have helped. This is a setup I have never seen for both iron and driver. I am on the course tomorrow and will give it a try. Thks
@@AlexElliottGolf Hi Alex, My drives are so much better, straight and penetrating versus the slice I have had ever since I started playing golf 50 years ago. Being left handed but playing right I was told by a teachers I needed to better shift my weight on the downswing... They never really mentioned I was swinging over the top outside in, I needed to watch my backswing, etc. 2-3 of your videos have addressed my biggest issues: - the video where you teach that by lifting the large toe in the left foot and bending the right knee in, enables me to swing more inside thus resulting in straighter drives. - it may have been the same video, but you teach that on the downswing, if the ball was a clock and 12 faces the target, I should try and hit it at 7-8 oclock. This again results in straight drives more often than not. - So I have been implementing the first 2 steps and today I added the setup to the ball lesson for driver, in which you suggest we should open the left foot a bit, move the right one back about a ball in distance. The result... my most consistent driving round in a long time. I am 66 and I was hitting easily 250-265 today... And right down the middle. I was not hitting my irons and hybrids very well today. I was not getting the club under like I normally do, hitting several stingers into the greens. So I was not as focused on the ball/stance setup. Also I'm trying to make sure I grip the irons correctly (adam scott method). I get a sense on the irons and hybrids (not the driver) the club is too much in my fingers on the left hand, however the Vs are there and pointing properly, along with right number of knuckles showing. It might just need some reps to get used too the new feeling. What I really like about your teaching is that I am getting more consistent but I still have a ways to go. I am still a work in progress but I can see I'm improving and have a better understanding of the fundamentals. I will keep watching and following.
Been doing this driver set up since your last video with this. Has developed into markedly greater consistency of straight drives where I want them - middle fairway. HCP from 20-22 down to 16-18. Average drives from 180-200 up to 205-225. Slightly closed face driver, ball 1/2 golf ball closer to heel, left leading foot (right hander) with closed stance and open foot, ball just behind Left leading foot heel and ball is teed up to just a little above top crown of driver based on mid-point of ball. Hit the fairway and dead straight 75-80% of time.
bro great video could you please do the same video with a go pro on your head to show us ball position with open stance and more importantly how closed the driver is . thanks keep up the great work . i can verify open and closing does change a lot . have not dialed it in totally . i could not stop slicing driver until i pulled right foot back . have a hard time hitting 7 iron until i opened my stance . i was always fat . yes im fat too and not flexible . my back swing is 9 oclock 8 iron 140 yards . 7 is inconsistent .
Just get Hogan's book and read it also. Watch Alex with this new tech and read what Hogan says in his basic lessons about foot placement. Alex I do have a question, do player enhancement clubs with their offset change any of this? Is it greater or less foot changes?
Applied this today for 9 holes... Driver right down the middle - so nice to play from the fairway. Irons, hybrids well struck and straight. I have a question... If I am hitting 3 wood off the tee should setup my feet like driver without the tilt or like an iron shot?
very interesting. was at the range today and when i was hitting driver i was naturally wanting to put my back foot a little behind, i was constantly correcting and making it parallel with front foot, hitting awkward shots. and then tried with it a little behind. didnt know it was an actual thing haha
Funny how things go in and out of fashion. If you went and looked in, say, Tommy Armour's How to Play Your Best Golf All the Time from the early 1950's, you'd find a lot of this.
You are very much correct with driver but with irons, some, actually many create much better torque with a mostly, not totally square stance. We’re not all built the same with many differences including eye dominance, flexibility, body type etc. Thanks
Definitely want to try this when I get out on the range. I know my range of motion will be off but mostly worried about my trail wrist as I broke it earlier in the year. Haven’t tried my full swing yet just been practicing the chipping tips you have in the backyard lol
*Wow! 😮 this is the way…I tried it on the golf course today & I really fillet I could swing through the golf ball! More power for sure!*
Lol was this speech to text with the fillet?
Started golf one year ago and this is exactly what my coach has been teaching me all this time. No slices, only baby draws. This method works
Love this!

How did you get on??

nailed it! I do this, big help. came about trying to hurry fades and draws. getting hips to clear is key.
Thank you Mr. Alex…
Look forward to the slight change in my setup, breaking 80 in 2024!!!
Yes yes yes!! This is what I love to hear!!
I saved this vid. Going to watch it again at the range. Can’t wait to try this. Thanks Alex! ⛳️
Hope you like it!
Amazing tip this one Alex 😮
Thanks Dj!!!

Oh, and most importantly, thank you Alex. Your tips videos are some of the best and easiest to follow and execute with the reasons why.
Amazing!! Great work - you are so welcome. Appreciate you chosing me to help you with your golf
going to give this a good try
LOVE TO hear it
Thats a really big golf ball you are using to measure how far back to move your foot! Great tips, Alex, really enjoy your videos!
I will try this out. Thx
Hope you enjoy

Love that William!!!

I would
Go like an iron Paul! (If hitting it off the fairway!)
Tee peg little bit towards like a driver set up!

Great point!
what about sliding right hand down to knee then put hand on driver
Love that pal.❤
Appreciate it William!
Fairway woods-which grouping would you put these?
I would group that in with driver! But watch the ball position isn’t to far forward!!
Why do i hit a push cut when i stay behind the golf ball with my driver?
Great question I will try and cover this is another video for you
I cant seem to get power!!! I finally started hitting my driver straight but only get it like 225 to 250
I will try and help with this on another video for you
