Tim Follin made fantastic music, shame that most of the games he made music for weren't too good. The title theme for Solstice or a song from Plok could be a cool future cover
The samples used for Plok are sooo good. You can basically already hear what it would be like played with "proper" instruments. As a child I loved to just let the game sit on the title screen and rock out.
@@Dr0ddPlok is one of alarmingly few games that even used a fraction of the SNES' sampling capability. Even in mainstream major titles a surprising amount of the SNES was underutilized. Not as criminally as the Genesis. But it really demonstrates how big and difficult the leap really was for game-makers at the time. Just comparing the launch Famicom games with end-of-life NES games shows the staggering depth of what 8-bit hardware could still do. The 16-bit age ended a bit prematurely as technology aggressively exceeded what we'd imaged before!
You should cover more of Tim Follin's stuff. It's pretty much prog rock written for 8-bit/16-bit hardware and I'd love to hear proper rock renditions of it.
Tim follin is such an awesome classic chiptune composer! I hope you will do the works of other guys like Alberto Gonzalez and Jeroen Tel, they're even more underrated then the follins suprisingly enough.
I know this comment is from 5 years ago, but that 5 mins long Game Over song for GB Bomb Jack by Alberto Gonzalez, inspired by a late friend of him, is truly something else
I normally don't like seeing people play these remakes on real instruments but this video really makes me appreciate even more what the NES was being pushed to do! The dude's fingers are going nuts! Not to mention how many layers there are to this song! This is awesome! Great job on the recreating this man!
I think even if I could draw the conclusion that you'd be covering this song... NO ONE would believe me. This is hands down the best title theme on the NES, well done keeping true to that with your cover.

I'm sure the title theme of Solstice could challenge that no?
The Follin Brothers have made some excellent tracks. I would love to see the title theme from Solstice, the Beach theme from Plok, or the title theme from Time Trax.
WHY IS THIS SO HARDCORE?! In all seriousness, great work on this! If you can, I'd love to see you do the Sewers or Technomancer themes from Nuclear Throne.
Oh man this is glorious. I grew up loving this theme. A related theme is the title theme/stage 2 theme from Sky Shark, another great very under appreciated Tim Follin track.
I love this theme, but in all honesty, I think it fits much better in an action platformer. Play this over a boss fight in Duck Tales and you’ll see what I mean.
Tim Follin? Never even played pictionary on the nes, sure as hell didn't know he composed for it. Check out Future Tactics; he did the score for that one too. Might be some good pieces to work with there.
Alright, I did NOT see that coming. It's damn good, though. Who knew Pictionary could be badass? As always, I'd love to see you do "The Unsung War" from Ace Combat 5 and "Zero" from Ace Combat Zero. Doing the vocals too would be amazing. Keep up the good work!
I had to pause at first to go listen to the original after hearing a few seconds of this just to make sure I wasn't being rused or something. Why is such an intense and quality song used for fucking Pictionary?
Excellent remix as always, Jonny. Was really happy that you got around to covering another track by the man himself, Tim Follin as he's definitely one of my favourite composers. Since I feel like it, I'm gonna suggest a few Follin tracks that I think would fit your style very well: Title Theme from Chronos Title theme from Solstice Title theme from Treasure Master Something from the Plok (preferably the Boss Battle theme, Akrillic or Beach but honestly, a lot of the music from that game is amazing so I don't care all that much) Boss Battle Theme from Equinox Title Theme from Gauntlet III I won't list anymore cause there's a lot to choose from but even if you never feel like remixing any of these, then I hope you at least enjoy listening to them if you get the chance.
I've suggested some of these already, but: Terraria - Moon Lord theme Terraria - Martian Madness Terraria medley, since most of the music doesn't go very long before looping Super Meat Boy - Carmeaty Burana Super Paper Mario - Fracktail battle I know it's early, but you should cover the Spider man 2 pizza theme for April fools day :P
I got a request. I love your M.R. cover and I wanna see more rabi. Since there's the not-so-new DLC, how about make something for one of the songs from there, like Countdown!! or Finale? Finale especially.
Huh, I can't for the life of me remember Pictionary on the NES having such an awesome theme. Nor do I understand why it would. Regardless, fantastic cover as always!
An actual April fools day song could probably be Harlequin Bazaar from Faces of Evil. Seriously that track is good. Speaking of good tracks, this is well beyond that. Seriously the bass here is outstanding.
Jeez... Didn't even know that there it was a Pictionary Videogame😂 Also, I sugest for future covers Dragon Ball Z Extreme Butoden, the Supreme Kai World theme
Hello Jonny! I'm impressed by how you play all those musical instrumentos! And, Can you play the gravity falls teme song some day? I love you work! Sorry if I don't speak well the english :)
ARE YOU READY TO PLAY SOME MOTHERFUCKING PICTIONARY
thebrawler56 *Woo!*
HELL YEAH!
Let's get Jerod into the mix and
*Make shit happen!!!!*
FUCK YEAH!!! GET READY TO DRAW SOME SHIT!!!!
It's funny becaus the original nes track was a metal song.
To emphasize the point you should put on sunglasses and cocking a shotgun
I'm gonna draw the shit out of those words!
Like that classic comment says: *TIM IT WAS JUST PICTIONARY*
If the original theme is the friend that takes Pictionary too seriously, this cover is that friend that will murder you when he loses in Pictionary
So...me
@@MrKennyWilliams hahahahaha.....(pulls grenade pin)
You mean Monica Geller
LoonaticX heh *pulls out Rocket Launcher*
Sike mfs *starts throwing quarters in the air while pulling out a experimental electric generator*
Well, if you like Follin so much, just cave and do the Title Theme for Solstice!
Yes. Yes. Yes.
PLEASE do the solstice theme!
He should do Plok too
And the plok boss theme
YESSSSS
TIM CALM DOWN TIM IT'S JUST PICTIONARY TIM
If there is ever a Pictonary World Cup, they need to play this at the opening ceremony.
Tim Follin made fantastic music, shame that most of the games he made music for weren't too good.

Right? It's pure brilliance!

"Wow, that Pictionary theme freakin' rocks!" is among a few phrases I never thought I'd say.
But wow, that Pictionary theme freakin' rocks!
TIM, JOHNYY, IT WAS JUST PICTIONARY!
This goes above and beyond. 🎭
You absolutely have to do Solstice's title theme now.
You should cover more of Tim Follin's stuff. It's pretty much prog rock written for 8-bit/16-bit hardware and I'd love to hear proper rock renditions of it.
Totally
JESUS CHRIST TIM IT WAS JUST PICTIONARY
Tim Follin is a real lad
Tim follin is such an awesome classic chiptune composer! I hope you will do the works of other guys like Alberto Gonzalez and Jeroen Tel, they're even more underrated then the follins suprisingly enough.
I know this comment is from 5 years ago, but that 5 mins long Game Over song for GB Bomb Jack by Alberto Gonzalez, inspired by a late friend of him, is truly something else
This one had to be real fun to play, no doubt.

This is awesome! Great job on the recreating this man!
I only just discovered this song literally a month ago, and now Jonny is covering it!
That's kind of hilarious
He who can GaMetalize ANYTHING...Jonny Atma.

Absolute ZeXal he should btw

@@buccaneerguy8197 well it helps that the original track has prog rock influences

this is some hardcore pictionary right here.
Good shit! When are u covering solstice
Already know the original, so I know this cover’s gonna be great.
EDIT: It was.
WHY IS THIS SO HARDCORE?!
In all seriousness, great work on this!
If you can, I'd love to see you do the Sewers or Technomancer themes from Nuclear Throne.
This Song goes wayyy to hard for a Doodling game. Well played Amazing Take 👊
I love requests like this, kick-ass songs from games you wouldn't expect them to be in!
thanks for the birthday present jonny :jkappa: really tho, amazing work as usual!!!!
Happy Birthday Nacisse!
We share a birthday!
@@JonnyAtma , hey, why not make a cover for a song that honestly needs one for the NES/FDS, namely, that port of the title theme of Karate Champ?
Fucking Tim Follin! HELL YEAH
Oh man this is glorious. I grew up loving this theme.
A related theme is the title theme/stage 2 theme from Sky Shark, another great very under appreciated Tim Follin track.
FINALLY!!!!!!
Please do the Drawing Game theme from this game next!
I love this theme, but in all honesty, I think it fits much better in an action platformer. Play this over a boss fight in Duck Tales and you’ll see what I mean.
Exactly
Thank you Jonny. All I ever really need is more Tim Follin.
BUT THIS MEANS YOU HAVE TO DO THE SOLSTICE MENU THEME SOMEDAY.
BAD@$$! On top of extending it, you make it sound THIS GOOD? Well done, bro. Enjoy my sub.
The internet wouldn't be the same without you, Jonny. Another HYPE cover!
Thank you for putting way too much effort into this, much like the original track 💖
I actually just recently discovered this song thanks to another channel, so I was really happy that you covered shortly after. Great work as always.
Tim Follin? Never even played pictionary on the nes, sure as hell didn't know he composed for it. Check out Future Tactics; he did the score for that one too. Might be some good pieces to work with there.
IF THE NEXT COVER IS CAP AMERICA'S THEME FROM MARVEL VS CAPCOM I WILL SCREAM AND NUT
Did you scream and nut?
I must say well played, and well produced!
Nice music. Good work Jonny !
Requests :
- Castle theme (NSMB DS)
- Sandstream (Hyrule Warriors)
- Glittertown (Wario Land : Shake it)
- Spider Dance (Undertale)
- Aquarium Park (Sonic Colours)
- Gaur Plain (Xenoblade Chronicles)
- With Mila's Divine Protection (Fire Emblem Gaiden)

This is the second time in a row I've had to pause GaMetal music to listen to more GaMetal music... and just like last time it was siiiiick!
It's time to play some MOTHER FUCKING PICTIONARY!
I had to pause at first to go listen to the original after hearing a few seconds of this just to make sure I wasn't being rused or something. Why is such an intense and quality song used for fucking Pictionary?
The Memessiah Because Tim Follin is a talented but insane individual.
YES!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH JONNY!!! OwO
Where was this all my life? I thought that the Pictionary theme couldn't get any better and then this appears. Great job.
I couldn't believe how much i haven't heard this song before this cover, you made it sound so gud
I can't wait until you finally do cave story's "running hell" or maybe mother 3's "master porky's theme", that's really all of my wishes x.x
Quote OMG yes. Running hell needs the GaMetal treatment.
No words can describe how awesome this song is......
Guess I'd better play the game to find some words. x3
Well Said in the description this is no April Fools song this is way too Based to be done dirty like that
Gladion's theme please omg it's right up your alley ;)

This is incredible! Jonny please do more acoustic tracks! Stickerbrush Symphony is one of favourites by you !
And we have Captain America coming up next, definitely his MvC series theme. I can't wait to hear it!
in all seriousness, your cover of this sounds like it could be the instrumentals to a legit rock song, and that's fuckin' awesome! :D
You did more Follin! Excellent taste, my dude!
Amazing!!!! Well done indeed
Never heard this theme before, but you just made me love it.
You never cease to amaze me!
I never thought something as calm of a game as FUCKING PICTIONARY could be so metal and upbeat
Im 3 years late... But i have to say, What an awesome job man... You're amazing!
NOTHIN' LIKE SOME TIM FOLLIN
I don't know why this is so good but it is and i am amazed
When you spill Red Bull on a Pictionary game......
Speaking of joke songs, you should do the boss theme from the Pokémon typing game for April Fools. It’s actually really good!
And it came true
yeah dude
How I would love to get to hear Jonny play a Strider (NES) medley. Even just the opening theme would suit me.
Why... why iS THIS SO GOOD!?
Your renditions are too OP. Please buff. 11/10
Somehow Pictionary of all thing sis now one of the most epic songs I’ve ever heard
I've suggested some of these already, but:
Terraria - Moon Lord theme
Terraria - Martian Madness
Terraria medley, since most of the music doesn't go very long before looping
Super Meat Boy - Carmeaty Burana
Super Paper Mario - Fracktail battle
I know it's early, but you should cover the Spider man 2 pizza theme for April fools day :P
I got a request. I love your M.R. cover and I wanna see more rabi. Since there's the not-so-new DLC, how about make something for one of the songs from there, like Countdown!! or Finale? Finale especially.
Amazing as always :D !
Huh, I can't for the life of me remember Pictionary on the NES having such an awesome theme. Nor do I understand why it would. Regardless, fantastic cover as always!
ARMS THEME PLEASE
either that or an ARMS Medley, since theres so many good themes in it, including the final boss stages like Sky Arena and vs Hedlok
An actual April fools day song could probably be Harlequin Bazaar from Faces of Evil. Seriously that track is good. Speaking of good tracks, this is well beyond that. Seriously the bass here is outstanding.
but a song for valentine's day?
oh yeah bayonetta
1: I was responding to the description
2: He lets his wife pick the Valentines day songs
Guess what im drawing
Its a fish? Yes
Its a karp? Yes
Is in a festival? Yes
Its a magikarp festival request? Yes
Is it happening? No
We ready for some FREAKING HARDCORE INSANE PICTIONARY!
Yes!
WHO’S
READY
FOR
SOME
MOTHERFUCKING
PICTIONARY???
I don't know how a game like Pictionary can have such a kickass tune. Let's be glad that in this world, we are allowed.
Jonny, in no way am I opposed to music that comes out of left field. Instead I encourage it, rock on man.
I wonder if Jonny’s ever listened to the Sword of Mana OST. Endless Battlefield cover??
also this cover is SICK.
Tim Follin would be proud.
Who knew Pictionary could be THAT INTENSE
The title theme from Retro City Rampage would be so sick as a cover from you
Tim Follin!
Can we have the Book II Map Theme from FE Heroes? That, or maybe the 2P Carnival Night Zone form Sonic 2 (Gen)
Jeez... Didn't even know that there it was a Pictionary Videogame😂
Also, I sugest for future covers Dragon Ball Z Extreme Butoden, the Supreme Kai World theme
You should do something from God Hand! The music from that game is totally up your alley. Personal favorite is Devil may sly.
YES! The Pictionary NES OST is so good!
+Jonny Atma Bowser battle in paper mario the thousand year door (or the final battle in the first)
Hello Jonny! I'm impressed by how you play all those musical instrumentos! And, Can you play the gravity falls teme song some day? I love you work! Sorry if I don't speak well the english :)
Who don’t you do the Hiker encounter theme, to go with what Chugga did?
Fun fact, Jerry O'Connell, of Sliders fame, now hosts a new syndicated television game show version of Pictionary.
I've never felt so pumped to draw objects
That was totally Awesome!
