  • Educating patients and caregivers about cancer-related fatigue can help them prepare for this common symptom, says Dr. William Breitbart of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Common causes of fatigue include the effects of cancer on the body; treatments such as radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and surgery; other medical conditions; or emotional problems such as anxiety or depression.

This was a very good and informal video. Thank you so much (from a Norwegian woman with lots and lots of causes to my chronic fatigue).

Treatments, anemia, low immune system, loss of appetite and weight, poor sleep, intense stress, depression are the main factors for exhaustion, difficult to overcome.

good info. i have had aftermass cancer fatigue and already have a problem with such. it can get really bad.. last long time too after cancer and modern medicine or even natural. They need more research on such. thanks for sharing your info. Many of these docs do NOT tell people all that can happen. thats for sure. mine got back a month AFTER treatment. some during, buty after. can last 6 months to a year in some people. thats pretty important. i could not even get out of bed hardly. all these things so important and they DONT TALK TO YOU ON THEM! Hardly NONE DO. not good. Yea, mine low like that fo 2 months. they JUST NOW talking transfusion and treatment. thanks to me telling them what you said. EVEN GOOD docs seem to NOT act until patients make them. i tell ya.

So, what we're really talking about is fatigue caused by treatments. No offense, but isn't that a no brainer? This should be titled, "Cancer treatment related fatigue."
