As a 15-year-old who got serious about retro video games around May this year, I don't have too big of a setup. I have an HD TV on what used to be a desk in my room with my home console games underneath: Playstation 2, Wii, Xbox 360, etc.; as well as an official GameStop game tower to put up DVDs. I also have an NES (more specifically a Retron HD) with some Nintendo Powers underneath. Lastly, there's a bookshelf on the right side of the consoles where I keep my handheld games: Switch, DS, 3DS and Gameboy
Great to see a setup which a lot of the consoles look actually used, with the occasional mark and scuff which that comes with. Also, no PVM in sight. Thank you.
I custom built my shelves to the ceiling. 11 shelves per side of my 65” 4K. One side (DVD’s,Blu-ray) the other side (360, Xbox 1, PS3, PS4, Wii U, and Switch) games. Small step stool for top, no big deal.
Fantastic new setup! Love the look and especially the pedestal boxes for each console! What a clever way to make them look great and keep the cords and power supplies organized! Nicely done!
I live in a small apartment and you have given me some ideas on how to display my video game collection. I like the idea of putting double sided tape for picture frames.
Beautiful collection man! I just thought of an idea instead of the tape "if you can of course" is get 1"x1" wood, cut it to size, paint it Black, and wood glue/screw it in front of the LEDs
I think this looks fantastic, Bob. Great video, too. I'm ashamed I gave most of my old systems away, especially my 3DO FZ-1, Turbographx, Saturn and 1st gen Playstation (yeah, first one in line on day 1!)
I have mine messily displayed on top of a smaller Kallax unit than the one shown, with boxes in the Kallax hiding the cables and most controllers. Love the idea of the black boxes/stands though 💡
Sooo jelly. I've had all these consoles and I've given them away. I'm currently trying to source all of them and my previous games I loved. Lucky for me my mom has my n64 in the loft
That looks great Bob! I'm still fussing with my set up as the room layout provides a bit of a challenge. I'm jelly you've been able to keep all your handhelds and consoles, my mom wouldn't support my "gaming addiction" so I had to sell my older consoles to get the newer ones when I was younger.
I had a spare room once apon a time. I had a nice game set up, nice entertainment unit. But now I have a baby coming into the world. So my man cave has turned into a human's living quarters. But I'm happy about it. Your set up looks really clean, I love it.
Thanks for this video! I don't collect video games, but I do collect Chuck E. Cheese memorabilia! This video was still very helpful for me! Keep up the good work!
Watching this in 2021 bc somehow TH-cam knows I'm about to move and am going to Finally be able to hook up all my old consoles to my tv in one entertainment center. Definitely want to set up some LED's like this and I've always dug those Mega Man posters, so I may give that methodology a try too.
This is awesome Bob. It totally beats my floor... I mean display shel... oh who am I kidding. I'm poor and all I got is my floor for my consoles and a single tiny shelf for my games. But I'll have to look into this once I actually have some free money to spend. Well anyways, thanks for the motivation to actually get a halfway decent gaming setup. Can't wait to marvel at it every Wulff Den live.
You Don't have to break the bank you can go to Menards, home depot or Walmart they sell some cube shelf organizers, the ones I have are 2x6 and cost around 25 - 30 bucks just look for alternatives if your tight on a budget like me Haha.
Super helpful my room looks like it has the potential to be something cool looking like this but i had no idea where to start this give me an idea thanks so much!
I have 11 retro systems all hooked up to one 36 inch tube tv sony trinitron, withj 3 switch boxes. 1 component switch box, one S video switch box, and one composite switch box. I habvve a 1 in and 4 out analog signal splitter, so al the audio outputs to the tvs composite input, the tvs component input, the tvs s video ionput, and out to the main stereo receiver. Turbo CD and Saturn sounding awesome on the ig stereo.
I wanted to make some quality of life updates to my setup as well and also started a video on it as a way to "force" myself to do it :D Should be out in a few weeks!
Thanks for your advice. I would've never figured it out how to put your game consoles the best way. I'm using a tv furniture. A standard shelving unit is too high and you are wasting a lot of space in between.
Savagetechguy Gaming And remember with Amazon Prime you get a free Twitch prime sub which allows you to become a supporter to view videos early and more!
Looks good but I wouldn't want to dust/vacuum it Bob! And any dust is going to show right up on the black... Maybe you could get Will to dust/vacuum it. :-)
IKEA makes very similar shelves called "Advala" or something very similar to that, there are very similar but very very slightly smaller but they are only 16$ I've had them in my desk setup since may and they hold up very well.
IMO the NES is the best looking classic/old console. I'm only 17 so the Wii was my first console so I'm not sure why these older Nintendo consoles have this nostalgia feeling for me. The SNES and N64 are great looking consoles but nothing beats the NES but that's just my thoughts.
I had the same problem, I took all of my old systems and had multiple switches and converters for RF cables/AV switches and even though I carefully routed everything, after a while it just turned into this massive birds nest because people would want to plug in other devices. I lost track of which switches did what or they'd get reset. Ended up unplugging everything except the systems.
been looking for a nice way to display all my consoles and be able to hook them up as having a huge box of mixed cables wasnt doing it for me and ive found the video switches are a mess to setup. Ill have to go buy some boxes and a new bookcase soon

Looking fantastic, glad you're getting back to the pre-flooding setup. The black tape in front of the LEDs is an awesome solution.
Great idea to put the cables in a black box under each console
My collection is similar but I’m 17 so I only have my bedroom to work with haha
I have a cupboard...
A CUPBOARD!!!!
It’s pretty big but still
felt
3 TV's. 7 consoles. 1 room.
Same but i cant fit all the consoles in my room and wont all fit in my tv and i just wana know how to make all my controllers look tidy 😂
19 now

It looks amazing! Gave me some great ideas for my own gaming collection!

That display is so raw
You would NOT believe how many containers they have. (I LOVE the set up, btw)
Love how your setup looks - been looking for ideas for a display that doesn’t look super cluttered, also definitely trying that game poster idea!
Why are you always speaking in a half yell?
NO IM NOT SHUT UP
Because otherwise the outro sound would be even more deafening. Seriously please, lower the volume.
Pat the NES punk eats cardboard boxes!!
Because a full yell would be weird duh! Lol
@@WulffDen Whoa, calm down, Jamal. Don't pull out the 9.
Beautiful collection man!
I just thought of an idea instead of the tape "if you can of course" is get 1"x1" wood, cut it to size, paint it Black, and wood glue/screw it in front of the LEDs
Thank you for this! It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for over the past few months!
I wanna do something like this in my room. I have some old systems that i love to play from time to time, i want to make it clean and beautiful!
Clean af!
Yes

Thank you for making this. I am definitely going to take your advice for when I eventually get around to building my setup.
Sooo jelly. I've had all these consoles and I've given them away. I'm currently trying to source all of them and my previous games I loved. Lucky for me my mom has my n64 in the loft

Wikiwikiwild wild setup, Bob. I'm all about those boxes for cables and such. Those HitLights would really put the finishing touch on my setup.
Best TH-cam channel right now! Congratulations. Greetings from México
For the handhelds, you could get some acrilic stands specially made for each console by Rose Colored Gaming.
Finally bob flexes on us all with his retro games

Looks really nice, gave me some ideas! The Mega Man X posters looks awesome!
Way to up the video production man. It’s legit. Keep up the good work.
This is a magnificent discovery. Bob can clothe the homeless. With 1 simple slap, no one ever has to be cold again.

Super helpful my room looks like it has the potential to be something cool looking like this but i had no idea where to start this give me an idea thanks so much!
Waow super gaming sammlung Gratulation super retro sammlung
The only change I would do, is to leave the control cable tucked at the back of the console and use that velcro strip to keep them nice and clean.
Cant wait to build my mancave and your giving me so many ideas
Looks good. I'm in the process of setting up my collection. It's going to be a pain in the ass.
Bro, your channel is underrated
nice clean set up. Love your prints
This is super cool! Some really great tips and ways to show them off. Cheers, and I just subbed.

I would've never thought to keep the cables and stuff in the display like that. Its so practical.
I wanted to make some quality of life updates to my setup as well and also started a video on it as a way to "force" myself to do it :D Should be out in a few weeks!
Nice! I like it. You should do one on how you display your games.
