I understand studying and comparing the movements of infants, but I'm not sure what the purpose of the adults in the chairs mimicking the baby movements is.
It could, but honestly people need to stop making every movement or ‘odd’ thing as being possible autism. It just seems like literally everything and anything ‘could be’ indicators of autism. Enough of this already.
Another reason this video is junk is because of how diagnosis works. To be tested for autism in the UK, there is a 3-5 year waiting list. Even if they get some evidence of discovering autism in infancy, there probably will be no use for it because of the lack of resources for people with mental and behavioral health problems.
I am on the autism spectrum and so is my older brother. He had his diagnosis at an early age around 3 or 4. And I had mine when I was in 1st or 2nd grade. So I don’t understand why this video is being uploaded. All babies wiggle around like that. So I’m not thrilled to be listening to this information.

Although we can be given tools to navigate the neurotypical world, but autism is a part of our whole lives. Autism cannot and does not need to be fixed. We just need acceptance and people who get us!

Something which could probably be more accurate as to see if any close relatives have autism. There is a higher likelihood of autism in some families, but it isn't inherited by everyone.

As an HDFS Developmental Psychologist and as a counselor, I see the potential for this study to have a major impact into catching autism in the early months of Infance to be able to have a game plan to help the child thrive in a much healthier environment as the child progresses through their developmental stages of grows. But the game thing makes no sense. None. It actually bothers me that rhymes have the game thing bc as psychologist and developmental psychologist, we do not learning mimicry. We learn through observation and one in one interaction with our patients.
Thank god they’re finally studying this, I’ve been wondering this for years after working with so many babies and also hearing stories from my own babyhood. It’s just so cool that we’re actually recognizing different neurotypes from birth, instead of kids having to feel like they’re an alien or there’s something ‘wrong’ with them their whole lives like it’s been up until this point ❤
The research I have read indicate a traumatic event that takes place. I have autism traits. Given my controlling mother and gaps in my memory from her treatment I can understand why I do not pick up on social cues.
I too have an autism spectrum disorder when i was little or months before first time of school until now as a college student. At this point, I am at 20% autism teenage boy now but i am also 80% normal teenager because i am feeling better since what i've done in my troubling past.
