I'm curious how the LED bulb is going to stay cool it's inside that housing with a fan but the air doesn't circulate anywhere except around inside that housing. Is there enough passive cooling through the plastic housing to dissipate the heat?
You will not have to worry about heat, these things are designed to function inside those headlight housings! They will totally work under that dust cover, heat will be a non issue! Let us know if you have any other questions, we are here to help!
Holy crap I need to disassemble half the truck to change light bulbs omggg!!! Bought lights because my mechanic ic told me it's gonna be 2 week wait to get me in. Now I have to wait 2 weeks anyway. Couldn't they make it like virtually every other vehicle and be able to reach in and change them without disassembling half the vehicle. Also I have v6 ram, does that make a difference. Theres so much room, I can loterslly stand inside the engine bay

Your model Ram reflector headlight housing was the 2 bulb style headlight that used the H11 ( single filament halogen) low beams bulbs and the 9005 ( single filament halogen) high beam bulbs. What about the single bulb style of Ram reflector headlight housing that uses the H13 ( dual filament halogen) bulb?
I recently installed the GTR CSP Mini in my high beams of my 2018 ram with reflector housings. The bulbs are adjusted at 9 & 3 but they’re still throwing the light everywhere.

My pattern on mine look ok at 12 and 6 but I'm told 9 and 3 should be best for low beam too (2013 dodge ram quad halogen) thx!!
On your Ram you will need the Pass-Through harness + PWM Modules for your Low beam to make them compatible with your OEM system, it is extremely easy to do however with everything provided! I got my SV-4 in an took it for a test drive, everything worked great. This evening, went to store an the driver side light kept going off an on by itself. Took light out an doubled checked all connections, everything is good. What would be causing just the drive side to turn off an on on it's own? LED is good an all connections are good.
On my 09 ram 1500 My complaint is not the distance the headlights show but it is the light dispersion from side to side. I have a lot of deer in my area and I like to see from ditch to ditch on rural roads, the Chevy's have decent lights, my old 2003 Dakota has decent lights, The Old 2001 Sebring even outdoes the Dodge Ram. What setup will give a good all around dispersion of light. BTW I have the dual headlights. same bulb for low and highs. I have aftermarket fog lamps aimed approx 45 degree to the side to give decent light. Love the truck but hate the factory lights.

My issue is one of my low beams no longer works (bought in '19 i believe) i am trying to figure out if i should get the sv4s again or try the gtr ultra 2s. I love how the cutoff on the sv4 is so clean even with our great big reflector housing

I just noticed that my 2017 RAM that I purchased pre-owned had different reflectors inside of the housing. The driver side housing had a circular reflector in front of the bulb, but the passenger side had a horizontal oriented rectangular reflector in front of its bulb. Is that normal, or did the previous owner change one of the housings for some reason?
I recently had to put l L.E.D tail lights because I removed the bed on my 3500 ram. They told there was a green wire under my fuse box that gets grounded to my chassis ground to make the truck L.E.D ready.... do I still need a pwm module if mine is apparently L.E.D ready now.... its a 2018 Ram 3500 dually

@Chez1863 Unfortunately, I did not. I actually took out the high beam bulbs as they were causing a check engine light. I did get decoders, but the high beam decoder does not fit inside the housing. I did not buy them from HR.

When installing the CSP mini for the high beams in the Dodge Rams which way should the leds face, up & down or side to side? My beam is not as focused as your demonstration on the wall!
Most LED bulbs haven't been tested by the DOT yet. You can use them in your headlight housings though. Just look up your local state laws on vehicle lighting.

Converting to any LED or HID kit will not be DOT compliant. To remain DOT compliant, we would recommend going with a higher-powered halogen bulb, like the ones from Vision X. We would not be able to recommend that at all, we would say for you to stay away from cutting the actual housing. I would HIGHLY recommend going with a kit that will fit, it wont be worth it for that little bit of light output!

Yes, that is correct, but for that $200+ you'll get the absolute best lighting. Sure, you could get new headlight housings instead, but any headlight housing that is that cheap will be lacking in quality and performance. The reason why OEM and Morimoto headlights are over $1000 is because they are quality headlights, and they are actually designed to provide good light output. The cheaper headlight manufacturers do not spend any R&D time in the optics to create adequate light output.

What vehicle is this for? Since this is on a Ram video, I assumed that's what you're working with. Not all vehicles need a PWM module, but some vehicles do.
@@gregmaggert8561 I know lots of guys need/want them, but I don't have any PWM modules on my 18 2500 and both lights (Xenon Depot lows and CSP mini highs) run without flickering or bulb out indicators. Some are more finicky I guess.
Basically you would just have to loosen the set screw on the bulb, and rotate the base of the bulb so that the collar is 90 degrees from where it was originally! Let us know if you have any trouble with that!

I've got a question, I did an LED swap for my 2018 Ram and on the driver side it burnt out 3 LED bulbs, yet the passenger side bulb never burnt out, I got these LED bulbs in June. Is this normal for the driver side to burn out the bulbs for an LED bulb?

We have not, but these would be brighter by quite a bit. The Morimoto is less focused on overall brightness and more focused on a solid beam pattern!

Sounds like the previous owner may have changed something, could have busted a headlight at some point and replaced it with an aftermarket light.

Bulbs needs to be 360 degree adjustable 9 and 3 o'clock position. You fail to mention that.

Look at the reflectors in the light, if they're on the sides the diodes on the bulbs should face those reflectors!

@@gregmaggert8561 I know lots of guys need/want them, but I don't have any PWM modules on my 18 2500 and both lights (Xenon Depot lows and CSP mini highs) run without flickering or bulb out indicators. Some are more finicky I guess.
That looks csp is 6/12. How would u make that 9/3?
Basically you would just have to loosen the set screw on the bulb, and rotate the base of the bulb so that the collar is 90 degrees from where it was originally! Let us know if you have any trouble with that!

I've got a question, I did an LED swap for my 2018 Ram and on the driver side it burnt out 3 LED bulbs, yet the passenger side bulb never burnt out, I got these LED bulbs in June. Is this normal for the driver side to burn out the bulbs for an LED bulb?
This isn't normal. But depending on who you got them from this should be covered by warranty!

Good news is, the better option already came along! They are a complete plug and play replacement headlight, and will mount up and plug into everything the exact same as the halogen headlights! Do the SV4 led bulb fit in my Dodge Ram for the High beams? With the dust cover on?
I am sorry to say that the V4 will not fit that vehicle for the high beam with the dust cover on, the CSP Mini will totally work though!
