However, if their replacements are at the level of Chibi-Metal, I'm not sure I'd care, because I'd be a fan of Su whatever type of music she went on to next.

So I was at the concert at Makuhari in January when this happened and we were all completely baffled when it happened, because there was no hints or advance warning at all that it was about to happen, they just appeared in the middle of the concert and we were all "wtf is happening?!" I initially thought what I was seeing was some sort of hologram effect and they were doing a thing with current Babymetal mirroring their past selves, but then I realized that they were dressed in outfits that were a combination of the old Babymetal red and black outfits and the newer Budokan outfits and that they were really three new girls there performing. The three new girls are Miko Todaka (mini Su), Sakia Kimura (mini Moa), and Kokona Kato (mini Yui). Miko and Sakia are Sakura Gakuin alumni who were part of the final SG class that graduated early in 2021, and Kokona is from Amuse Kids. Miko is 16, Sakia is 14 and Kokona is ?? (around 14 I think). Miko has a lot similar qualities and background to Su. She is from Hiroshima, and trained at Actors School Hiroshima (ASH) before being chosen for Sakura Gakuin. She is widely considered to be the best singer to come out of SG since Su herself. I've heard different figures about the crowd size at Makuhari ranging from 15,000-25,000. To me it felt like it was around 15,000, with 20,000 being the upper limit. There were several drones flying around inside the arena during the show filming; we joked amongst ourselves that the pilot would be in trouble if they collided with Su or Moa. I later found out that the person piloting the drone is a Japanese world champion drone racing pilot.
Oh my god thanks for all that info, that is priceless. I checked about the attendance number, and the figure I got was 50K, but obviously that may have been wrong, and it may have been intentionally fudged, like Koba allegedly did with the original Budokan numbers. Yeah imagine if one of the drones had hit one of the girls. 😬 I don't think the pilot's life would be safe. Maybe not from Koba, but from the thousands of fans.

This one was their live premiere or debut at BabyMetal Returns - The Other One Makuhari Messe 2023 and it really surprised everyone, me kinda suspect this could happen after the teaser trailer in April 1st last year when announcing a new BM. So far it seems they will be performing locally, we'll see what happens next concerts at Apocrypha and Rising Sun Festival.🦊🤘🔥 Forgot to mention Miko Todaka is from Hiroshima, so she got the seeds of Hiroshima girls just like Su, Riho and Perfume.😉

I'll have to defer to someone who is a lot more familiar with the girls in Chibi-Metal to tell you who and how old they are - they put on a great performance (and completely surprised the audience who had no idea what was going on - I believe some thought it was some sort of optical illusion when they appeared on the other moving stage and then started mirroring Su, Moa and Momoko).
Kevin from the BABYMETAL Podcast attended the shows in Japan and he reported that when Chibi-metal appeared he and many others were stunned into silence trying to figure out how BABYMETAL was able to transport across the venue onto another stage. Everyone was blown away by the performance and singing of Chibi-metal.

I can imagine that this is intended, that Chibimetal performs all the songs from the early days and partly until 2020. sometimes Babymetal and Chibimetal perform together. while Babymetal can sing their new songs and more mature songs in general. another advantage is that this combo can also deliver concerts 2 hours+. It remains to be seen what I...or "THE ONE"...will think of it...for me, "BABYMETAL" doesn't seem to exist anymore the way it used to be...which is a shame for me personally. although I understand that BM are no longer teens and need to evolve if they are to survive. I hope that the concept will work and that "BABYMETAL" will stay with us...
@@ChiliConCarnage As much as I love all three Chibi Babymetal (two of them are from Sakura Gakuin), I don't think as a free standing trio they are strong enough to carry the torch of Babymetal. So I honestly think this was just part of the lore used in the show of parallel universes. And if they do perform without Babymetal, it's only at local venues in Japan as all three are still under 18 and won't be traveling the world just yet. Which means, they may continue to perform whenever Babymetal is performing in Japan.

Miko Tadaka is an amazing singing and her path from ASH to Sakura Gakuin to now the Metalverse parallels Su-metals so much. She is a perfect girl too fit this role. Su, Moa, and Momoko aren't going anywhere, Miko age 16, Sakia, and Kokona ages 14 are something completely new and their own thing.
Chibi-Metal may have been formed to perform the early songs Awadama Fever, CMIYC, and others that have become a bit out of place with the grown-up BABYMETAL. New songs may be prepared for them.

Miko and Sakia were ALLEGEDLY among the four dancers who joined Moa when she performed Black BABYMETAL songs as a solo at 10 BABYMETAL Budokan. Yes, this is a great platform to give them experience. We will see more of them for sure. Probably at the Apocrypha shows... but OTFGK. 😁
I really love the idea of BM being a legacy thing, not like replaced since in context this word makes no sense you can't replace the ones who started it but you could continue their legacy as BM could be a torch passed for new generations in order to still bring joy and a wonderful message for the future of Metal... Sounds too much utopic tho lol but I believe CHIBIMETAL could be a sign for this crazy theory, Miko-Metal has presence and strong yet charismatic voice, it's surprising to me how much her vocal tone is so close to Su's tone, or maybe it doesn't need to be CHIBIMETAL as Koba is literally a mistery box lol 🦊

Okay here's my POV on why this is happening. SU & MOA are getting older with their music & voices going in a more Mature Baby Metal Direction! While the very first & old Baby Metal Songs like Gimme Chocolate, Doki Doki Morning, Megitsune. Songs from there 1 CD with the "Baby Voices!" & Chibi-Metal & her Dancing Sidekicks are keeping those old songs with that chilish baby tone. While SU & MOA take the more Mature route for their version of Baby Metal.... at least thats what i personally feel on whats going on here! Look if you research Baby Metal premier Stage performance pf Doki Doki Morning, the Very First Stage showing of Doki Doki Morning. SU-Metal WAS NOT the lead singer. SU was one of the Side Girls Dancing! There was something the creators of Baby Metal didn't like in that First Performance. They put SU in the middle as Lead & Yui & Moa on the sides dancing!
Miko, Sakia and Kokona have so much stage presence. Will they replace Babymetal? No. Will they be their own group? They aren't going to just let those three go to waste, or use them as just side show for Babymetal. Miko is an SG ace, equally on level as Su was during her time in SG. Remember that Su sings many of the older songs in her cuter vocal style to mimic her younger self, so not quite a true comparison during this performance, though you can still hear a lot of her 25 year old vocal strength coming through. Miko seems to have a great voice, It sounds like she has a naturally slightly lower tone to Su, Bare in mind I am only going off hearing Miko on this song, I've literally never seen or heard her before this.
I really wish Su would sing this song with her current more mature voice instead of trying to mimic her younger voice. Moa says she is good at it but with Chibi Metal helping in a show here and there (I assume Japan shows only) it would make for a better contrast. Still how fun this was to see and they all did so well. Wasn't fun when all the doom and gloom fans thought it was a sign of replacing Su and Moa. 🙄🙄 🤘🦊🤘
For these old songs I appreciate the effort to sound like they used to. I hope chibi-metal will fully take over the old songs. To be honest, if these young girls take over the Babymetal name, it's not a crisis for me, because there's no doubt that Su would go on to do other music, which would no doubt be as amazing as everything she does. I would fully understand if Su and Moa would start looking for other stuff, considering they've been locked into Babymetal for most of their youth and all their adult life.

It's the Metalverse so chibimetal would be the alternate versions of Babymetal.
