Yez can never accuse Marty of not going full throttle. He can make even weak material work because you get the sense he's winking and letting us know, "Yeah, but I'm still gonna make you laugh!"
Yes he is. Have you see him in the new series called, only murders in the building. He plays along with Steve Martin and Selena. He is such a treasure.😊
Thank you TH-cam analog, for putting this in my feed today. I totally needed this! When your heart is heavy, and your life sucks, sometimes you just need to laugh!
Well I'm kinda confused at how I got here....was searching a Dolly, Linda, & Emmylou song 🎵 😂 but now I'm completely captured & can't stop watching this 🩷 I've laughed so hard, become tearfully nostalgic, then fully broken to pieces at the end 😢💔 How precious this is 🩵 Such a rare gem in so many ways 💖 Guess I'm not working on music lol
Yeah, he's pretty good. He starred in The Music Man on Broadway about 10+ years ago....lots of sing/talking in that one...but still....he has the chops...
This made me happy. Nostalgia warm feeling. I am a cord cutter former tv addict. It does remind me of when we watched as a family. Would've needed MASH, All in the Family, Maude, Mary Tyler Moore, Soap, and Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman. We did watch SNL as a family until I turned 18 though. Seinfeld and Friends were later.
@@ttteclassic2994the Friends theme was originally a record by the Rembrandts might have been copyright issues and they might have not been able to get permission to use it. It's the only theme song that wasn't specifically written for the TV show
I truly feel that had this been done more recently the audience would have been less uptight and much more into it. Like, people would be singing the Cheers song at the drop of a hat now
still CAN'T believe he only did one SNL season. Dude's a 1 man variety show.
Even worse--he got replaced by Anthony Michael Hall :)
He’s a Canadian treasure
@@beatmet2355 Heck, he’s an American treasure
He did do more of the best sketch comedy show. It was just called SCTV.
He said it was super stressful and he felt like he would get fired every week.
The guy @3:58 with the big mustache is NBC movie critic Gene Shallit, still alive at age 97. In 2002 --21 years ago, he would have been 76.
Watching this now hits so hard with so many of those faces long gone....
I know -- it hit me too. And as much as I was laughing through this -- it made me very sad too.
Yez can never accuse Marty of not going full throttle. He can make even weak material work because you get the sense he's winking and letting us know, "Yeah, but I'm still gonna make you laugh!"
Martin's physical comedy is always coming through! Def hits you hard out of nowhere seeing Matthew smile and singing. RIP Mattman
I love William Shatner getting into the act. And Martin’s surprised reaction to Will Farrell’s serious singing of the Cheers theme song is hilarious.
That is the voice of an angel.
Surprised me too😊
Will is the songbird of his generation.
@@bob8144 😂
Even thought it was rehearsed so Martin heard Wills singing already lol.
Martin Short has zero stage fright.
When he was starting out John Candy said Martin Short has "balls of steel".
@@adamdesanti6713 I had that workout video.
I’ve watched this so many times. Martin Short is such a treasure.
All, yes... but he had help from some very talented people.
That thumbnail. Those ladies. Two absolute treasures of humans as well as actresses. Best of the best.
what a precious footage of all legendary cast of best TV series: Cheers, Friends, Golden Girls, Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey,...
Seeing Matthew Perry singing the Cheers theme in the audience... R.I.P.
So funny and full of nostalgia. I missed this one the first time. Good to see Betty White and the others.
There aren't enough compliments or superlatives in the dictionary to describe this man's talent. Martin Short is a one man amusement park of talent.
Mr Short is always genius. All the performers and material are the tops.
This was great. What memories.. Matthew Perry at the end is heartbreaking. Ty for sharing. ♥️😢
My favorite parts were Will Ferrell and Ana Gasteyer kissing Hugh Downs on the cheek, and Al Roker enjoying a cold frosty one in the audience.
Was that a real or total joke song around him?
Yeah, those were my two favorite moments, as well.
@Ma_Ba it was a real song - the theme to 'Family Ties'
@2:35 Hugh Downs: "How did I get in the middle of this shtick?"
This showing up on my TH-cam made my day. So many great people in this clip. Made me smile.
He is and was and always will be frikking adorable
Bill Shatner and Martin Short- two Canadian comedy legends.
the Canadian connection.
That shit was dicksucksting. 🫢
Love them both. Live long and prosper, Bill and Marty.
Don't forget Eric McCormack too.
Shatner, funny?
Love seeing the cast of Friends sing the Cheers, theme song
Especially now.
So sad, wish we could go back to the 90s
lol Hugh Downs getting second-hand embarrassment is the best part of this
DO WISH IT HAD INCLUDED MORE! THIS CLIP IS GENIUS!!
This man is such a legend. Thanks for the fantastic upload
lol him shushing Betty White!
LOL 😂🤣
And Betty shyly apologizing.
He was brillant in Father of the Bride films.
Martin Short is so talented!!!
Yes he is. Have you see him in the new series called, only murders in the building. He plays along with Steve Martin and Selena. He is such a treasure.😊
This is GOLD!!!! I was cracking up during the golden girls bit,
glad he finally put Betty White in her place.
@@Zebra_3 That was planned.

Couldn’t agree more.
Aw... So good to see Matthew Perry singing along at the end. ❤

How have I not seen this fill now!? I love this! Takes me back to a simpler time
The Cheers theme still makes me cry x
Same. I loved it; the melancholy...
This was amazing. Even more amazing that they weren’t lip syncing
Betty White and Rue McClanahan played well with others!
Were Estelle and Bea gone by this or weren’t able to come?
@@andyman10 Estelle suffered from dementia starting slowly from 2000. And Bea was living in CA.
Bea Arthur would've eaten him alive xD
5:36 RIP Matthew Perry, looking great here!
His stepdad is on dateline nbc I think
This was 👏 wonderful. Bought back some good memories.
2023- Sad to see crowd shot of the now late Matthew Perry
Im amazed Ive never seen this & who is actually present.
RIP Matthew Perry.
One of the most underrated comedic actors… Martin short
He's not underrated.
"I better stop doing this. I'm getting a Major Healey" -lol

What a wonderful colle!ction of TV stars from that decade!
I didn't know Eric McCormack had such a nice voice.

I think these were just theme songs from NBC shows.
@@MurphCat-zl8vu Yes, but Friends was on NBC too.
@@ttteclassic2994 Yes, Freinds was on NBC. Not sure what your point is?

Love Martin short. He's so fun to watch and so funny😂😂
This randomly popped up for me and I was chuckling as I watched; then the camera panned by Matthew Perry towards the end. 😞
The brilliant Martin Short.
He needs to be in a proper Disney Pixar animated film.
WOW! Such a list of amazing people who are no longer with us.
Aww look how cute young Jimmy Fallon and Tina Fey look at 1:51 - 2:02
He oddly looks like Johnny Depp there
Man who doesn’t love Martin Short?! Being rude to the Golden Girls lol! Chico and the Man took me out 😂
They'll never make another one like Steve Martin
When Martin asked “Eric?” like he wasn’t sure of his name was the best punchline.
I teared up a bit when they sang the Cheers song...
Quite a few greats in this clip! Cheers, mate 🤙
Absolute genious!! Martian Short is my favorite laugh treat!!
He's my favorite Martian.
Crap! I was going there! Good catch@@rr7firefly
One of my favorite comedians 💜
Cheers and Family Ties were the GOAT NBC theme songs.
Sometimes I just drop a "Shalalala!" into everyday conversation!
How time just passing us by
Oh how I miss this type of entertainment
Oh, 🇨🇦. William Shatner, Martin short, and eric Mccormick!
The Cheers cast cracking up was hilarious
love love him too funny
I love him so much!
Matthew Perry sings Cheers theme ….. r.i.p
Cant do NBC theme songs without friends
Great Canadian. SCTV with John Candy, Eugene Levy
So much talent
His talent is endless

RIP Matthew Perry.
My favorite part is Al Roker with the beer.
I love Martin Short’s humor
this is really a remarkable moment and I can't believe i've never seen this before.
A major healy, great 👍
What's sad is most of these performers have passed away😢
Other than betty white and rue McClanahan they're all alive
Hugh Downs and Ed McMahon are gone too but yeah it's certainly not most.
Who’s sad that Jimmy Fallon isn’t one of them? 😔
Martin really did say "Shut up, Rose!"
Was it Eric McCormack?
Back when things were still funny, and feelings didn’t mean everything.
Betty Whites facial expressions!!! 😂😂😂
Who knew Eric McCormack could sing? I sure didn't--
I've seen a couple TH-cam videos of him--he's actually amazing. There's one with him "serenading" Harry Connick Jr. :)
Anyone who watched episodes of will and grace. He sang a few times in that show.
Hugh Downs was terrific.
I want to see Jiminy Glick interview Ron Burgundy
Classic Martin Short!❤️
Sitting on Shatners lap 😂
I love watching that couple dance, this is such feel good song and they tear it up!
Who knew he would later be singing "Summer" in Frozen?
seeing this makes me wonder how NBC will celebrate their 100 yr anniversary in 3 years
This the Harvey boat?
Brilliant
For a moment, I though short might have been sitting on Danny DeVito...
"wouldn't you like to get awaaay"
5:38 OMG, seeing Matthew Perry there hits harder now...
They really don't make 'em like they used to❤
Once Jimmy Fallon comes on, next video.
Who was that singing the Bonanza theme song? It looked like Don Johnson?
Yep - it’s Don Johnson
Back when tv was watchable.
So many not with us today :(
I can't believe I saw Matthew Perry at the end 😢😢😢
