33:30 SA didn't "get annoyed and left" Super Rugby out of their own. was forced by New Zealand's unilateral decision to organise a new competition. They didnt even consult SA rugby URC = Best League
That's exactly what Agustín Pichot said too. When Super Rugby was put off due to covid back in 2020, the NZRU decided to continue with the competition by themselves because covid was relatively under control in their country leaving the rest of their partners out. Then they decided to play with the aussie franchises and both South Africa and Argentina were left out. Of course South Africa would not take that kindly and wisely decided to join another comp. Now Super Rugby is more dead than ever and the URC is thriving. Argentina is doing well because most of their players are in Europe so everything worked out for SA and ARG while both NZ and AUS are going through a rough patch. Karma comes to mind...
No room in URC, they're doing fine with 16 teams. The Argentine Rugby Union is trying to have the Jaguares back in the original Super Rugby replacing the Melbourne Rebels.
@@6legna6krad6 Will be good Argentinian rugby if they could have a team in Super Rugby again. Almost all the national team players play outside of Argentina now so could help develop next generation
Argentina are the ultimate rollercoaster team. They can barely turn up in some games, like Eng match in RWC....yet when their moons all align they have the firepower to beat anyone.
Argies attacking formation was very hard to defend, they had layers of three to four deep around the edges and play there knowing they can throw the ball to anyone flat or several layers back to pick the holes. Love that keeping the ball in play but with real options . They must love passing short and all sorts.
There are four international teams that can beat each other on their day. Ireland, FRance, NZ and SA then just below them there is Engeland, Argentina and Scotland, which can cause an upset now and again. Rugby has never been closer, SA and Ireland seem to have a slight edge at the moment.
I think we need to review ticket pricing for these games. Money is tight for a lot of people and if we want to pack out the stands, the seats need to be more accessible for the every day Kiwi.
Issue is the number of games that dictate the pricing. AFL tickets are cheap as chips but that’s because there are many games. 5-6 home games a year you can’t have $10-$15 tickets

This Argentina side isn't like the ones from 20 yars ago, with one or two stars and a lot of attitude. It is genuinely a tier 1 squad with world class and very good players in every position. If we keep going this way and find consistency we could genuinely be WC contenders in 2027

Agree Boks were massive and deserve their ranking (obvious statement) and our ABs have a lot to do with these young players - they will come right but not yet
Usually, when a team like the Puma's go 20-8 down to the AB's they start to chase the scoreboard but that's not what happened on Saturday, they kept their shape and stuck to their gameplan unlike the AB's who resorted to crazy passes, wayward kicks and couldn't exit from their own 22.
Razor's Crusaders depended on superior conditioning, forward dominance, set-piece ascendancy and capitalizing on opposition errors. Their actual tactics and structures on attack were pretty basic: shift it wide, kick into the corners, line-out-maul-try. Rines repeat. A simple game-plam executed well, and it worked for them at SR level. It is, however, comparatively primitive compared to the systems being employed by other international sides, and is unlikely to prove effective against the tougher opponents the ABs will face this year.
As an Irish fan im delighted for Argentina. Ireland paved the way for teams to get over there all blacks hoodoo. Now we the irish dont fear the all blacks.
This wasn’t a shock loss. All blacks were there for the taking and Argentina obliged. Super rugby is a flawed competition and it doesn’t prepare the all blacks for test match rugby and they simply aren’t the force they used to be and haven’t been for a while now.
Pumas simply outplayed and outsmarted All Blacks at their own game. Difficult for All Blacks throughout the game when Pumas were playing them at their own game. Pumas so impressive, never give up attitude and big self belief. I think this caught the All Blacks offguard. When All Blacks scored a try Pumas answered with a try keeping the game tight. Well done Pumas to play so well against the All Blacks.

Argentina fully deserved the win. NZ are still a work in progress unfortunately. Watched the game in Bali and the result was still the same. Looking forward to the Eden Park Test. Go ABs 🖤🖤🖤
After that first game against England, I said it at the time, that I didn’t see any evolution from the time they were playing under Fozzie. Everyone was praising Razor as this Massiah who was going to turn their fortunes around but in the three home games they’ve played so far, they haven’t looked convincing. Beauden Barrett was largely the reason they didn’t lose those first two tests. I think Razor and his fan club now know that those 7 SR titles count for nothing on the international stage, test rugby is different gravy. He has a long way to go before he reaches the heights of Rassie and Andy Farrell. He will only get better if he is willing to ADAPT. Cause this ain’t Super rugby son 😂
You will recall the great coach fellow Canterburian, Steve H did say Razor should wait and earn some pathway offshore say Europe. Nah he wanted to show what he can do better but boy that eyes shut for a moment at the final whistle says a lot of where to now. He tried to read too much from the Fiji test and it was a walk in the Park, next time play Fiji in Lautoka, then you will find out who's got a soft underbelly in your precious team.
Most Argentinians play in Europe and it shows. The club level there is higher than SRP so the the step up to test rugby is not as big as it is for our players. They play crunch games every week. Euro Cup games, working to get into the playoffs or fighting to avoid relegation. Every week , it's on. Like it or not, we need to let go of the 'you have to play in NZ' rule. Players develop when they play at the top level every week and ours don't. Players of every test side except us and to an extent, Australia, all play in the best comps. And this Argentina side lost to a French development side with over 10 players younger than 22...... Not looking forward to the game in Paris when France are at full strength.
And a cohesive loose forward trio that plays like a unit and not three individuals getting their roles right. That works well on the defensive side but not on attack...only Ardie made real meters in this match. Papali'i was absent on attack and Blackadder was patchy. AB's greatest trios all attacked as a marauding unit. Move Ardie to onside flanker and keep Blackadder on the offside. Put Sititi at 8. If moving Ardie to 7 is too much, keep him at 8 and put the acid on Sititi to perform at 7. Whoever the trio is...they should be chained together this week (day and night) with one of their arms tied behind their backs until they learn to work together as a unit. Subs should be Jacobson and Cane in a 6:2 split. Backline: Ratima, Clark, Barret, ALB, Proctor, Reece, Jordan with Hotham and McKenzie on the bench.
This is the first time I've seen any analyst, ex player or Kiwi coach so complimentary of the Springboks. I feel as though if AB's adopt/copy the Irish attacking shape; they'll master it, and then do it better than Ireland because of the flair that comes from the AB's players.
SA got annoyed because of NZRFU refusal to negotiate around the travel and revenue distribution. The fact is that SA brought in 60% of the revenue to SANZAR and only got 35%. You can see the control and management of the powers that be in NZ rugby in the last round of battle with the players union............huge issues. Look in the mirror boys be honest with yourselves. Irrelevant of all of this the All Blacks will NEVER EVER be taken lightly by South Africa. We need a strong Aussie and strong AB team. Well done to the Argies superb fighters. Its such a great game.
Hi guys. I´m from Argentina, always admired, and will continue to do so, the AB. I think that the issue is adaptation, like plan B if you may. AB had always forced the other team to adapt and change and improvise and so on. But, when, for whatever reason, the match is balanced, they seem to lack that "free will" or wild card. Please educate me if needed, but it appears that changing the AB plan within the game is impossible. Big hug to all.
Under Steve Hansen and Ian Foster, New Zealand was typically amazing one week and a bit off the next. You never wanted to play the All Blacks after they lost the week before, even under Foster. But I'm not 100% sure the new coaching staff are ready for international level. We will hopefully get a better idea this weekend.
Razor plays his job Saturday because lose the fortress Eden Park from 1994 … great pressure for him. The country whole will ask his dead . Jamie Joseph waits the job in the room.

The bleating is loud - as one would expect from NZ. Wonderful country as it is. Things always take time to develop. You can’t change things quickly in a fundamental manner. The loss of two underrated but ‘GOAT’ locks should not be ignored.
I don't have an issue with A.Gardner not giving Blackadder a yellow however it needs to be consistent across the board. You can't have one Ref call it a penalty and others giving a card and a review for head contact. The facts are clear every tackle is a rugby is a collision.
Why do people always talk about the size of the Sprinboks being so big. Ireland had a bigger pack than SA in the tour, SA are regularly lower than the opposition pack weight. It is more than just size, they are not bigger than the opposition.
I want to make it clear first of all that the All Blacks and Springboks are above the rest, when he talks about the dominance of the scrum, John Kirwan should remember that the scrum of Argentina until the 1995 World Cup was dominant, he almost lost in 1985 in a 18-18 draw and when Los Pumas went back they knocked him out and the match ended, after the 2003 World Cup they changed the rules of the scrum and it harmed Argentina, we must remember that they took Argentine pillars to Australia, France, England and even South Africa to show them how we formed and the technique we used, if he doesn't admit it he's lying.
That was a yellow card all day, Blackadder came forward into the tackle his shoulder clearly makes contact with the players head, Blackadder went backwards because he was too high and the Argentinian player weighs 137kgs v 111kgs - very lucky
There was NO whiplash of the head from the Argentinian prop because he dominated the contact zone exhibited by the mere fact that Blackadder went flying backwards - this is because of the Argentinian strong body position and most of all he had the bump fend set and pushed Blackadder off cushioning whatever contact Blackadder had! One of the few decisions that the referee got right on Saturday!
He never bends down trying to do a legal tackle. No suprise there. He's in the defensive line. Angus Gardner BS. Yellow card and bunker all day long...🙄
Fan from SA. One game does not mean you forgot how to play Rugby. All teams are on a new evolution, building towards 2027. Remember my beloved Boks also lost 1-1 just a month ago against Ireland. On any given day any team can get one over you. What TRC needs is to include Fiji and Japan with a possible relegation system to allow Uruguay in or another Southern Hemisphere team in. Just my opinion.
It’s seriously time to have a conversation about NZ and whether they deserve to stay in the rugby championship. Can we say they really deserve to play in that tournament when someone like Fiji could have a chance?
Tamaiti Williams and Paliso Tosi need to be on the bench , fletcher is dead weight. put Scott at 6 and run Darry and Tuipulotu for locks. I think Hoskins needs a crack at 8, we don't need to run 2 or 3 7's at the back, its never been great. Ardie is a 7 who was moved to 8 for Sam red card Cane.
I am not a New Zealander but i am a long time admirer for over twenty years. What do i see from the outside looking in? There is a regression from last year. That tells me Joe Schmidt was the main driver of that improvement. Robertson has not had the impact we all thought he would. Give him time but he appears to be coming from a point of ability behind Vern Cotter and Joe Schmidt with all their international experience. Even Jamie Joseph with his world cup experience beating Ireland and Scotland was a viable candidate. Despite the retirement of a large number of stalwarts there are enough players left from last year to have something to start over with. Stern Vern got the blues playing in a totally northern hemisphere style and won super rugby first timeout for him and the manner of it in defeating the chiefs should have graphically demonstrated the problem with the New Zealand game today. Even watching highlights of the NPC shows a loose game with no real commitment to challenge and pressure at ruck time in many teams. What does it produce? The players you see now. Unable to impose themselves physically on other international teams despite having the height and weight required for the task producing poor post contact meters against the top sides. There needs to be an appreciation for size in the all black s both among the forwards and the backs as well. A player with the size and speed of Caleb Clarke should be a no brainer. All i see is caution and poor selections.
Although a small thing, I would like each player to better evaluate if after having run successfully, taking the ball to the ground rather than a low success pass.
There are bound to be some teething issues with a new coach. No need to worry yet, ABs are not tier two, I expect them to complete with the top teams in the near future
Pumas smashed by all blacks last World Cup 2023 : 44-6 . There are not 5 years . Pumas profited only stupid mistakes given all blacks. We will see Saturday. All blacks always smash in the 2nd test !
I felt the Argies were on the front foot. Their transitional play was very strong and they kept the AB's under pressure. However, the AB's had plenty of opportunities to win the game late on but just weren't buttoned up enough in critical moments. For example, giving up a scrum penalty on the Argentinian's 22 with 5 minutes to go. Giving them an easy exit.
Pumas got beaten at home a few weeks ago by a French team that had no players in their starting 24 from last years World Cup. I think the ABs are way off the pace.
Argies are usually good for one or two strong performances a year. They're equally capable of seeing off the ABs or England one week and then lose to Wales or Italy the next.
Ability to adapt the game plan seems to be an issue. Also Ardie leads by example and is a great warrior, but the captain needs to be a good communicator and calm things down, I am not sure he is that type of captain? I could be wrong.
I agree. Great player, but the ship needs to be steered sometimes, especially in rough waters, and that’s when the Captain needs to step up, take control and vocalise.
The standard of rugby talent and coaching skill has crashed at provincial at Super Rugby levels, and too many fans are in hopeless denial about it. The SA and Argentine teams leaving SR hasn't done the competition any favours, and the catastrophe that is Rugby Australia just compounds the issue. Added to that, rule changes have deliberately titled the playing field in favour of European rugby tactics, but the truth is NZs problems start at home: falling participation, constant offshore talent drain, sinking attendance figures at every level, and ever-growing competition from other sports including Rugby League add up to a pretty tough calculation for those occupying the professional rugby sphere in NZ.
ABs played like a provincial side against international opponents. Hardly surprising when virtually the entire coaching team have never coached anything else.
The biggest enemy of NZ rugby is the stupid role that if someone is not playing in NZ can t be selected for the national team …… it was good maybe 10 years ago but not now anymore
Hit the thumbs up if you are looking forward to the rematch at Eden Park this weekend!

Argentina is doing well because most of their players are in Europe so everything worked out for SA and ARG while both NZ and AUS are going through a rough patch. Karma comes to mind...
it would be great to have an Argentinian team on URC. If we could find a base in Europe, may be Spain or Italy
No room in URC, they're doing fine with 16 teams. The Argentine Rugby Union is trying to have the Jaguares back in the original Super Rugby replacing the Melbourne Rebels.

Argentina are the ultimate rollercoaster team. They can barely turn up in some games, like Eng match in RWC....yet when their moons all align they have the firepower to beat anyone.
Jonah lomu was hands down the best that has ever played the game we loved him in South Africa
Brilliant player that never scored a try against tge Springboks
@@grantvanzyl McCas had 6 and he is the greatest ever
And Joost v/d Westhuizen and James Small the only guys who had his number.
Argies attacking formation was very hard to defend, they had layers of three to four deep around the edges and play there knowing they can throw the ball to anyone flat or several layers back to pick the holes. Love that keeping the ball in play but with real options . They must love passing short and all sorts.
All blacks leaded the match before the stupid mistakes ( reece McKenzie…) . They could win this match .

Yes, prices are far too high
we have the same issue in Ireland unfortunately.
Issue is the number of games that dictate the pricing. AFL tickets are cheap as chips but that’s because there are many games. 5-6 home games a year you can’t have $10-$15 tickets
Stop crying bro it called capitalism they gotta make money g
Sell seats for cheaper. Sell more food and drinks.
Even as a South African, Jonah was my favourite player of all time. Unique in every way. A true gentle giant off the field also.

I also remember when he went and interviewed the late Joost and what an incredible interview I cried so much ( MHSRIP ) and said take care my friend not long after he died I wanted to donate my kidney to him I loved him that much .
Great, well balanced comment and a lovely one, too. You shame fools who say, "Lomu was the greatest player of all time". In my op, Ray Mordt was a much better winger☘
Agree, South African rugby public love Jonah ...
This Argentina side isn't like the ones from 20 yars ago, with one or two stars and a lot of attitude. It is genuinely a tier 1 squad with world class and very good players in every position. If we keep going this way and find consistency we could genuinely be WC contenders in 2027
3 semi finals in last 5 world cups isn't a fluke, your team is genuinely a top team now. Or a myopic right-winger who wouldn't recognize hypocrisy and irony if it hit him in the teeth.
No one does. They are very average. No accuracy. Pack is weak. Mentally fragile.
This wasn’t a shock loss.
All blacks were there for the taking and Argentina obliged.
Super rugby is a flawed competition and it doesn’t prepare the all blacks for test match rugby and they simply aren’t the force they used to be and haven’t been for a while now.

He will be sacked before . Jamie Joseph waits the job
Like most ABs - Razor won’t learn - too cocky and full of himself.
@@DrissZyani-bu5moooogh yes! And then the Springboks would lose the services of Tony Brown. Jamie & Tony go together!
If razor loses his job .. career international finished for the top team , if you are bad coach all blacks, no top team will take you .

They will be fine. Billy Proctor, Cortez Ratima, Bauden at 10 Will Jordan on the back.
Razor wants to continue with mckenzie in 10...good joke
Tamati posoli bell also in the 23
And a cohesive loose forward trio that plays like a unit and not three individuals getting their roles right.
@@Buster62yup nailed it exactly with the loose trio. Each excelling at their individual roles whilst maintaining cohesion and power as a single unit.
Jordan is undercooked, Love should be starting off the bench
This is the first time I've seen any analyst, ex player or Kiwi coach so complimentary of the Springboks. I feel as though if AB's adopt/copy the Irish attacking shape; they'll master it, and then do it better than Ireland because of the flair that comes from the AB's players.
JK seriously needs to consider a career in politics. His uninformed flip flopping inconsistent hypocrisy makes him imminently qualified.
The guy is a joke! 🤡

Well done Argentina! Should definitely have been played in Hamilton. Just another head scratching decision from Mark Robinson and NZRU.

Sir JK misunderstood the history of scrum rules last decades
In reality, it could oh so easily have been 2 - 0 England as well. Wonder if Argentina can back this up now
That was a yellow card all day, Blackadder came forward into the tackle his shoulder clearly makes contact with the players head, Blackadder went backwards because he was too high and the Argentinian player weighs 137kgs v 111kgs - very lucky
I saw the same thing with Cane in the finale world cup and he had Red card
Decision incoherent with referee
Its not tiddlywinks.
Crap the guy. Lead with his head on purpose a sensible decision

Who is this Jamie Joseph guy everyone is talking about
Wtf is going on with Kirwin's specs? Is it just me or are they getting bigger every season...
Jamie Joseph and Vern Cotter dream team
Jonah was awesome. Couldn’t score v SA in the ‘95 final though 😊

Argies are usually good for one or two strong performances a year. They're equally capable of seeing off the ABs or England one week and then lose to Wales or Italy the next.
The stadium choice influenced the result? What has happened to the All Blacks if this is the excuse given?
Ability to adapt the game plan seems to be an issue. Also Ardie leads by example and is a great warrior, but the captain needs to be a good communicator and calm things down, I am not sure he is that type of captain? I could be wrong.

AB teams of the Carter era would not allow the Pumas to get a win like that. This AB team has dropped in standard and that should be worrying for them
The standard of rugby talent and coaching skill has crashed at provincial at Super Rugby levels, and too many fans are in hopeless denial about it.
Also, the travelling from SA to NZ was hard on the players during Super Rugby
Dance now, Dance now!! Baila ahora, baila ahora!!
