Just finished this mod, and it works a treat! Thanks a million for posting this. I had this bag of transistors sitting around and it's still available from Radio Shack: www.radioshack.com/products/radioshack-npn-transistors-15-pack
Great video! We’re going to make another video soon building all the extras I could find for colecovision. I would love to add in your av mod as well. Colecovision rocks
The area Ben Heck used is fine if you just do ColecoVision cartridges but for that to work with Expansion Module one, you need to connect the non-ground line to the end of capacitor labelled C88 that is closest to the RF modulator.
Hi Paul! I found that transistor in an arduino kit. I got the info from google “ben heck colecovision” a (1) 1k variable potentiometer (Radio Shack # 271-280) (1) NPN transistor. Usually called a 2N4401-ND.
@@ChadDoebelin that's the only 1 I found also. He used a pot to adjust it. Wasn't sure if I needed it tho. I have like 5 to do and doesn't want to pay $25 each one. This is alot cheaper. But all the ones with boards have more than 3 or 4 pieces. There s a couple caps and other stuff. What kind of tv have you used it on. Have you tried yours on a larger flat screen. Wondering if it will work on a larger higher quality tv's
@@Mynameis7nad These are extremely common transistors. I just did this mod (I didn't use a potentiometer, just a 1K resistor) and it works a treat with a 2N2222, 2N3904, or 2N4401 which can be found at Radio Shack online: www.radioshack.com/products/radioshack-npn-transistors-15-pack

I made something useful? Glad to hear it! Cheers mate!
I'm just surprised _Radio Shack_ is still available.
This video was really fun to work with you on, great job!
Excellent , And good preview .
Thats hilarious. I say pretty much the same thing “nothing bad is going to happen”. Repeat that over and over and all is well in the universe!
Nice Work ! Totaly !

Colecovision has always been the video game of my dreams, and I could never find one in Brazil.

need to do one on the Coleco Adam ,or just a pinout on plug
Any chance you have a link on the transistor I couldn't find many options on ebay. Did any of the info you found recommend a pot?

perfect movie. it's strange why too low subscribers opposite on post-soviet retro community thousands of people are.
How a piece of gunk can just ruin a switch just to screw up the whole system, ouch🥲
And while it is fixible but it can be only fixed the hard way.
