I've noticed a trend where a lot of recent "horror" movies are coming off as comedy films.

Well, the first one kinda was comedy...and it was self-aware of that. This trailer also shows some comedy parts (or parts where they are making fun of it)
Shane Black does great comedy, the reason the first was funny was because he doctored the script.

The "original" predator was Jean Claude Van Damme. However he quit early in to production because the suit was terribly designed and looked worse than most b-movie creatures. They redesigned the suit so it wouldn't kill the actor wearing it and got Kevin Peter Hall as Van Damme's replacement. I'm glad it turned out the way it did because the original plan would have been a flop and a half.

None of the comics from dark horse or published novels are canon to the movie franchise. The movie industry can reboot the series or reveal new events in the future that the comics falsely tried to answer on their own such as with "Fire and Stone".

I'm guessing it starts with the normal predator being presumably killed and the team of men then fight the ultimate predator with most of them dying and almost losing and then the normal predator returns to kill the ultimate predator. A high five between man and alien and then the normal predator flys away and then bang a cliffhanger.

This movie may have more gore, violence and swearing, but it'll never have the heart, camaraderie nor the one-liners that the 1987 version had.
That's absolutely true. PREDATOR ( 1987 ) is a perfect movie. And I don't care about some bad special effects it has, who cares about that? The creature is perfect, and when you watch it nowadays you still find it perfect, because the Predator was a real thing, a huge guy wearing a costume, there are no cheap CGI effects there that can get old. We will always feel disappointed by these new movies.

When my daughter was born and my then wife was recuperating I took my 10 year old step-son to watch the original Predator movie in the theater so he wouldn't feel all left out and stuff. I told my daughter about that and she said it's obvious that I should have won the father of the year award for doing that...

Best decade for action films. What's with everyone using CGI? It's horrible. Alien was epic due to puppets. Predator was epic because time was spent on costume. The Lord of the Rings was epic because it used practically no CGI. Hobbit films used too much CGI resulting in crap. Also the CGI blood in historically based films is nauseating. Why can't they use the traditional mixture? Since 2010, I have really been put off by cinema.

This trailer leaves absolutely nothing up to the imagination. After just 2 minutes, I get the feeling I've seen the entire movie. Which in hindsight is good, because now I can avoid it.

Yes. Several people including I have been turned off by the gangsta rap music. It totally kills the vibe of what Predator is supposed to be.
Nothing wrong with a rap back track, but when the rap lyrics of the back track are louder than the dialogue it comes over as a bit amateurish, like a fan made trailer...
