What I like is the comparison of Evelyn being the "worst" version of herself, but her husband is the best version of himself. A version that all his other selves want.

It also deals with suicide. The daughter was destroying everything including killing herself in each multiverses. And in each universe she searches for her mom. No matter what she searches for her.
The rock scene where she hurls down the cliff and her mom goes after her, fighting to rescue her and finally joins her is actually the most profound especially for those who suffer from mental health. The rock scene deals with a lot of suicidal thoughts. Searching for peace , taking about discovery and then finally giving up and letting go.
I mean it was kind of obvious really, especially that she's nihilistic
I watched this WITH my Mom and neither of us knew what we were in for. I had one of my Truly Vulnerable Moments, which I can count on one hand, and wept on her shoulder, because she was raised with Southern Baptist "Wash Your Face" Stoicism. We were back to "normal" very soon, but it was a good airing out of sadness.

The rock scenes are the ones that broke me down completely. It related to me in a personal experience that no once piece of media has ever done. It was beautiful
The rock scene had me quietly sobbing. My mom has saved me so many times.
Eric’s slow (but actually quite fast) realisation that he is watching something truly special is by far my favourite part of this video.
Also ‘In another life, I would have really liked just doing laundry and taxes with you’ is such a beautiful line of dialogue that always hits me in the feels.

I liked trying to guess the exact moment that Eric realized the husband was Short Round and then how long it took from that moment for him to have the confidence to ask the others, lol.
Man, every scene when they cut to that universe messes me up!
I love the look of amazed disbelief on his face, it's like "Whoa, I'm watching history being made!"

It's honestly a perfect line. The Hot Dog Universe embodies this. That even in a ridiculous, stupid world where shit is weird and dumb, it still matters just as much as another other world.
28:51 "there's no joy in this universe" is such a profound thing to say. Pop Culture Detective did a video essay on the character of Waymond. It explains that in the universe where Waymond becomes CEO, the movie doesn't portray that version of Waymond as a good life path or ideal. Instead we kinda feel sad for CEO Waymond, then we get one of the greatest movie lines ever "In another life, I would have really liked just doing laundry and taxes with you." There is no Joy in this version of the universe. What a great double entendre of analysis.

I absolutely agree with Eric and Calvin. Immediately after seeing this film I knew it was a top 10 film of all time for me. It hit every note for me from emotional to funny to action packed. It is so fun

Im 100% with you Eric, and Calvin. I haven't had a movie rip me open emotionally in so many ways like this movie did in a VERYY long time. In my top 10 of all time, no debate.
This movie took a lot from Neon Genesis Evangelion, from the themes and how it works them. I recommend watching it

Nope. By the end, it throws the ball so high into the sky it disappears. I love this movie so freaking much.
Also, I think the "stupid" part works so well because the movie commits 100% to what it's doing. The guys in the butt plug scene or anyone during that scene really could have been making stupid (not the good kind) jokes, as if the visual of two guys coming to attack Evelyn with freaking butt plugs up their asses wasn't crazy enough. It committed wholeheartedly and was sincere all throughout and I think that's why it's able to go so seamlessly from scenes like Jamie Lee Curtis as a wrestler with a paper stapled to her forehead to Waymond and Evelyn talking about their failing marriage. And why moments like Chad crying over Racacoonie that could have just been comedic actually made me genuinely sad and brought out a few tears from me.
Yep. It's meta-absurdism: absurd scenarios that are somehow sensible and serious in-universe, despite being ridiculous to the viewer. Prime Evelyn calls the hot-dog universe a "stupid, stupid universe", but in the hot-dog universe, Diedre and Evelyn share a very serious, loving relationship, because that world is not absurd to them, it's just how the world is. The recognition and distinction between what's normal to the viewers and what's normal to the characters in their own universes not always easy to distinguish, but this film makes a point to carefully craft those lines.
To the handful of people who are like, "this is so dumb": that's the point. The characters even *say it* multiple times. These things *are* dumb to us, but in the midst of that, they make serious arguments about life and living. Trust that the cast and crew *knew* how dumb it was: the first day they filmed the butt plug fight sequence, Michelle Yeoh lay down on the floor of the set and said "WTF am I doing?" And the Daniels consider that a badge of honor 😁
fun fact, the butt plug guys are actually youtubers and are the fight choreographers for the movie
I can barely find words to describe how good this movie is but it should win all fricking movie awards for the next decade.
this is what the boys does right its not so much shocking for shocking sakes, but more applied shock and applied gore it fits into whats going on its not just doing stuff for the sake of hey were edgy. all those "stupid" scenes in the boys and this movies always have a point are make sense thats how you do a movie and show this is legendary man a full on ride i loved.
That is why I love the film. The sincerity of which Daniels creates things for the film. It is weird for weird’s sake….but it’s the same weirdness that gets your drawn into 22 jump street. Or believe in Tyler Durden, or accept that a rat can make a human cook in a cartoon film. They were at the top of their game and it just made a sincere piece of cinema for both homaging and celebrating what film can do.
My interpretation of the ending is NOT that “love conquers all” but that YES, nothing has meaning, nothing matters BUT-
If no single thing matters more than any other thing, then on the flip side of that perspective, everything matters just the same.
So, nothing has any inherent meaning, but that’s the beauty of it, because we create meaning where there is none.

Yep. It's wrapped in love and kindness, but ultimately the moral is one of existential nihilism, of deciding on what matters instead of trying to find prescribed meaning.

At first it was “nothing matters so what’s the point” but by the end it was “nothing matters so let’s cherish life and each other” truly a beautiful and masterful movie

The final line Evelyn says when Deirdre asks if she's listening shows how much the journey taught her. "I'm sorry. What did you say?" In the beginning she would say she was listening when her mind was clearly elsewhere. Now that she can experience all of her possible life paths, she still felt it was important to be as present as she could

Just gonna say "re-watchability is low" is a statement I'm not sure I've ever disagreed with more hah. I've watched it FIVE times and all of them hit hard and allow me to find new details in this film to love. It's WONDERFUL.

Absolutely. The movie hits completely differently, and somehow better, the 2nd time around.
Was gonna write the exact same thing - watched it in theaters 2x and online 1x, on top of all the hour long reaction vids here. It’s dissecting and uncovering new details every single time. And OFC it’s so incredibly funny, so I really didn’t understand this sentiment🫠
@@hk7403 I think some folk get so caught up in trying to figure out what's going on the first time that that concept feels like a core part of the movie to them. In reality that's just a happy byproduct of the movie being incredible and bonkers and when it's gone you have a movie that is perfection in the details and wonderful to just enjoy. In the end, knowing what is happening makes it better not worse.
It’s incredible how one movie can have a scene with two rocks talking, another where someone cannonballs on a butt plug, and without missing a beat be able to have some of the most emotionally resonate and compelling scenes ever made. What a special movie.
I could hear people quietly sobbing during the rock scene all the way to the end whereas the first act had everyone laughing harder than a Marvel movie. The Daniels achieved pure magic here
Based on the 6 times i saw this movie (in the theatre) you have to be emotionally open to it for it to hit the way it hit Eric and Calvin. If you intellectualize it too much you'll get caught up in protecting your emotions and seeing it from a distancing point of view. Then it might come across as scattered and chaotic, instead of sublime and ridiculous. It's the best movie I've seen in 10 years….
Great way to put it. You could tell Eric was just in awe at what he was witnessing and was just trying to soak as much up as he could while it seemed to me like Aaron was really trying to figure out what he was watching which is impossible to do in the moment of this film lol.

Thank you for this. Now I finally know how to respond to friends who watched it and said "I didn't get it".
I would argue that Eric and Calvin are way ahead intellectual-wise that they were able to pay attention to exactly what the filmmakers intend audience to pay attention to and not all small details. That requires high level of film intelligence. That way they were able to soak in the brilliance of this film and connect threads all throughout.
I saw a review that called this movie “a perfectly calibrated assault on the senses” and I feel that’s a great representation of what this movie is
I did not walk into this movie expecting to connect with Evelyn and Joy SO MUCH. Nihilistic, aimless, being a jack-of-all-trades, and depressed. And while I saw the mother/daughter story arc coming earlier on in the movie, I also didn't expect Waymond to absolutely destroy me emotionally with his monologue. He's the perfect contrast to Evelyn and Joy that gets you to the optimistic nihilist message at the end.
"You might see it as a weakness... But this is how I fight. It's strategic... And necessary." That line alone makes him the best character in the movie
In the end, they flip that initial nihilism..."nothing matters" becomes freeing instead.

Regarding the last googly eyes question, note that googly eyes (white with a black center) are the inverse of the bagel (black with a white center), which mirrors the absurdism/nihilism dichotomy. Also, in Chinese cosmology, circles represent the void before the emergence of yin and yang, as well as the heavens and the subconscious in contrast to the earthly and conscious, and there are circles absolutely everywhere in this film. The amount of thought and care put into this very silly film is just astonishing.

The movie lives up to its title
Rick reached that point amazingly without the visual of it opposite. You know your message was received well when there are multiple intepretations.
It's hilarious how Eric immediately knew after the movie that he just watched one of his favorite movies of all time and 2 of his crew tried to talk him out of it. Sometimes, you know right away. As soon as the credits rolled I knew this movie was one of the best movies I've ever seen. 3 months and 4 more viewings later it's still one of the best I've ever seen.

Michelle Yeoh turns 60 next month and she's better than ever. She has starred in kung-fu and other action movies for almost 40 years. Her fight scenes are still amazing and she is so beautiful. I think this is her best movie so far. - Many think that Michelle Yeoh is a highly skilled martial artist, like for example Jackie Chan, but surprisingly she has never had any formal martial arts training. Yeoh’s background is ballet dancing, which gave her the bodily control and flexibility to allow her to play tough action roles. She has relied on her dance discipline and on-set trainers to prepare for martial arts action scenes in movies. She uses many dance moves in her films and does most of her own stunts.
She also performed one of the most amazing stunts ever filmed, in Super Cop, where she jumped a motorcycle onto a moving train - with no wires.

This is basically the core idea of Existentialism: the universe has no meaning, therefore it's our responsibility to define ourselves, and to give the universe meaning -which is what Evelyn must learn to do (hence the "you are so bad at everything" because she hasn't defined her own self yet). I really really love that the movie doesn't try to downplay this idea of an absurd universe, or shy away from it at the last moment, but instead fully embraces it.
As Dutch prog metal master Arjen A. Lucassen says in one of his songs: "The meaning of life is to give life meaning".
“If you don’t like stupid you’re gonna go through life not happy”. That is so true and the very reason why we get judged for liking certain movies by stuck up people.
The "stupid" factor is exactly why I love movies like Scott Pilgrim, Napoleon Dynamite, and every Wes Anderson movie - plus this one now. Stupid, but with a lot of character and heart.
Fun Indie movie like this is so fetch in my heart like the girl next door, IT Will never be appreciate broadly but deeply It will be memorable indie fun film, last in decades

Eric and Calvin have always been the guys on the crew I’ve related to the most in the years I’ve followed Blind Wave, and the fact that they both were so in tune with this movie and immediately had it in their top 5 movies just like I felt after seeing the movie is insanely vindicating. Incredible reaction.
Totally agree, I also think that they are the most real and authentic with their reactions. They let their emotions take over and don’t try to downplay or hide how they’re feeling in the moment. Love these guys!
I love the whole crew but they all process emotions in a different way and you can tell from certain reactions... this being one. I relate to Eric and Calvin the most and this video definitely shows why... BUT I still enjoy Rick and Aaron's input.
I'm new to the channel, but if you're talking about the first and third guys from the left, then i see why you respect them. It's clear that they've done a lot of inner work.

I noticed it, but I just thought it was a style choice since raccoon hats exist. I assumed he attached a fake raccoon tail to his chef’s hat, so the reveal still surprised me.
Eric's reaction was my reaction in the theater. Just slowly realizing this is one of the best movies in existence.

Saw this on the UK’s biggest screen with a Q&A with the Daniels, hosted by Riz Ahmed. It was one of my favourite nights at the cinema. Fun facts from that Q&A:
- Andre 3000 plays the flute on the soundtrack
- it was filmed in just 8 weeks
Riz Ahmed flew back from the US especially for the screening and his mind was so blown after we saw it he barely knew how to even start talking to the Daniels and went way over the allotted time so we could all ask Qs.
This film deserves all the acclaim it’s getting. It’s one of the most creative things I’ve ever watched!

It's the best experience when you can do that. I've had the opportunity to see two films with a q&A with the director, writer etc., and in both cases they were very important, special films for which the q&A at the end was really illuminating and enriched my experience of the film.
Eric GETS it. I could see it on his face. I knew from 3/4 of the way in that this was not just one of my top movies of the year but of ALL TIME. It's SOOOO layered; there is meaning found in every way cinema could be meaningful. I don't think anyone else on the panel really understood the philosophical weight it holds and how grounded they made those concepts feel.
Waymond's speech makes me think of something from Patton Oswalt's special Annihilation. It was his first one after his wife died, and he talked about something that she'd say. "It's chaos, be kind." And the whole Nihilism aspect of this movie also reminds me of a line from Angel The Series, "If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do."
There's just so much to talk about in this movie. I mean good god, it made me emotional over a rock with googly eyes

The blurry effect that Eric saw as a filmmaking mistake is intentional.
The style of the actress-universe is a reference to Won Kar-Wai's films (especially In The Mood For Love).
Playing with film speed is one of his most recognizable traits.
the rocks scene is my favorite cinema experience of my life. That silence was loud.

Originally the Daniels wanted the actresses to do voiceover for the rocks. Michelle convinced them to go silent and just put the dialogues on screen.
It’s funny how different preferences can be, I love the movie but the rock scenes are my least favourite bits from the whole movie.

When Alpha Waymond told Evelyn in the elevator she can either go left to the auditor or right to the janitor's closet, he didn't actually want her to go right. Instead, he was just giving her a choice for the sake of choice. The choice itself created a brand new "burner" universe they could exploit. Genius!

Yeah I've seen the movie twice fully and I've been watching at least one reaction a day for like two weeks. I've seen so many new things but the thing that hit most was the callback to Waymond seeing this elderly couple kids each other and him being jealous of it. Then at the end they kiss the same exact way. My heart ugh. This movie has so much heart.

You're almost there. It's not the choice that's given to her that created another universe but her *making* a choice. Both Evelyns exist: we followed the version of Everlyn that chose left but there's also another version of her that chose right. That other Evelyn had to be already inside the janitor's closet for our Evelyn to verse-jump into.
There's a shot when she got out of the elevator, stopped, stared at the janitor's closet for a moment, that *decided* to go left. It's that moment the burner universe came to exist.

Also, this is also up there in my favourite movies ever. I haven’t seen anything as unique in years, maybe ever. It was action, comedy, sci-fi, horror, drama, romance, and whatever other drama. It was quite literally everything.

push it even though the market is saturated with movies that seemingly looks like the “same”
Although it saddens me how it just got made now…but maybe that’s the universe saying, this is it’s time. Especially since films and critics are moving into a new direction where franchises are not that liked by the masses and more people are willing to watch new stories
One thing that really spoke to me about this movie is that Waymond, in every universe, IS THE SAME PERSON. He is the only one out of every main character who was at peace with who HE is a person. Man I had to fight back tears when the crescendo of his character arc was on display.
As an Asian-American this movie hit hard, but I was so happy to see that literally the only requirement to love and get the feels of the movie is being a human being. Easily became one of favorite movies of all time.
I saw this movie opening night for an employee screening at the movie theater I work at. About a quarter through this movie I realized I’ve never seen a movie like this. When the movie finished I looked at my friend and we both had cried. We talked later saying that we felt physically different after watching it. I drove home and then sat in my car for like 20 minutes I laid in my bed staring at my ceiling for over an hour. This movie in the best way possible made me sick to my stomach, it changed how I viewed everything
It was almost as shocking/unexpected as taking LSD for the first time, there's no way to put it into words and no way to be prepared!
I was stone cold sober when I saw this movie but I walked out feeling high as shit, I don't think I've ever had a piece of art have such a physical effect on me ever

this movie is in fact everything, everywhere, all at once. never has a movie lived up to its title before imo. also, I am so proud of Ke Huy Quan. he absolutely killed all 3 of his roles in this movie. there is a clip of him on a podcast that brought tears to my eyes of him getting very emotional about where he'd been. he had quit acting due to the lack of roles for asian actors and had resigned himself to working behind the scenes. but when Crazy Rich Asians came out, it gave him hope again and he went to the theaters to see it multiple times. when asked by the podcast hosts where he'd been all these years, he simply said with tears in his eyes "I've been right here." that got me. I hope he is nominated for an Oscar. ❤️

This movie may be among the most heart warming AND simultaneously "wtf?" Movies I've ever seen.
You mentioned "recency bias," but I like this movie more and more every week since I first saw it in theaters and can confidently say it went from my favorite movie of the year to my favorite movie I've ever seen.
Also, when I first saw EEAAO in theaters, I cried the entire last half hour and could not stop crying until I got back to my car.
Same here! I’m a 29 year old dude and I was shaking and SOBBING for the last twenty minutes, and I couldn’t even get out of my seat until the credits had fully rolled. I saw it with my two buddies and they kinda just stood there awkwardly as I slowly, slowly recovered. Such a great movie!

I am so grateful to have watched this movie in theaters. It was a wild experience. Made me laugh, made me cry, made me experience so much all at once. It was truly one of the best movies I have seen in a while, and I am very glad the Blindwave was able to react to it as well!

A lot of people, myself included, didn't clock that 'hat' even, let alone make the raccacoonie connection. So many setups in this movie with payoffs later, like the parkour scene where Alpha Waymond fills the fanny pack with change from the laundromat anticipating he may need the weight in there later. Genius. We don't understand what he's doing but it all has a purpose. This movie was fantastic and the reaction was something I had been hoping would come soon. Glad it did

Eric is spot on. I can tell when I’m watching something if it’s gonna be one of my favorite movies, and this was one of those. It’s a rare feeling that makes you think “please don’t drop the ball” just like he said.
I haven’t laughed this hard outside of a Jackass movie and I haven’t had my heartstrings pulled this much outside of a Pixar movie. Seriously, how is it possible that the same movie where we see Michelle Yeoh fighting 2 guys with BUTTPLUGS up there asses with some actually amazing choreography also makes me weep at the sight of her and her daughter hugging and crying together in the end of the movie!!!

The moment the movie was done, we embraced each other and cried, bc we knew that we’d never want to be ripping each other apart like Evelyn and Waymond could’ve done. This is a bit freaky. We have the same first name and while my partner (2 years) and I didn't have the biggest fight in our life, it doesn't feel like we're in a good place. After seeing this, I realized that no matter how terrible things are and might become, I'm much happier in this life with him - even the most mundane stuff like our taxes. The line is still making me cry hours later. I don't know if he hit him as much as me but he definitely is much warmer now.

it's a feat of cinema that a film where someone violently shoves a trophie up his bottom could have a message of kindness that can move people to tears.
The movie is, thematically, literally everything everywhere all at once... but somehow manages not to completely overwhelm itself or get messy. It's genius.
The "THE END" fake out seemed to fool/confuse the audience I was in. There was a lot of a buzz of "WAIT what?" where people were questioning how much time has passed and if the movie was actually over. But given how early it was in the film, I doubt anyone was fooled for long. The movie was so crazy up to this point that in that moment, we just didn't have the mental capacity to think straight to not get somewhat fooled, haha.
I think everyone was folded for half a second. The moment I realized it wasn't the end, I smiled cause I knew this movie was going to be something else
Imagine having one or two major roles that define a generation that are so distinct for one actor that 40 years later u make a return to acting and people know u but they don’t know you but they figure it out. I love watching people discover Ke Huy quan again. His voice has not changed.
He was the highlight for me. I absolutely loved him in Goonies and Indy 2. I recognised him immediately and was so excited to see him back on screen. He’s absolutely fantastic! I hope this means we’ll see more of him.

I'll never have an experience like this in my movie going experience ever again. The theatre was absolutely ELECTRIC with this movie. We laughed, we cried, we cheered, sometimes all at once. one of my favorite things about the film is something that isn't talked about a lot which is that in every universe that we see Waymond in he is very much the same as the OG Waymond. In the sense that, generally speaking, he's a kind gentle level headed person that chooses kindness as his first act of defense. That in every universe the world needs someone like Waymond, needs kindness to cut through all the anger, hurt, pain and confusion.
Absolutely fully agree with both Eric and Calvin, as I was watching this I knew I was watching something special, and the theatre audience I was with was fully on board too and it was one of the best movie going experiences I've ever had.
Eric's points afterwards of WHY he immediately loved it so much as well were exactly how I view it, Part 1 of this movie is just an action sci-fi comedy masterpiece, and Part 2 just has some of the strongest emotional resonance I've ever experienced. Hot Fuzz was my favourite movie up until this year but now I think it might be beaten out, the rewatchability of this is insane too!
I come back every now and then to rewatch y’alls reaction to the “trophy” fight scene- because just like Eric, I too realized that this was the best movie I ever done seen, when Evelyn used her foot to swipe away that buttpluggish object from the dude. Ngl, after watching this movie, I started questioning my life choices and regretting them almost immediately. The emotional impact this movie had on me is just on another level. It still hits me hard even if I rewatch it multiple times. Definitely in my top 5 rewatchable movie list and top 10 favorite movies of all time
Honestly I sobbed like a baby watching this. There were parts I don't even know why I was crying but were really just gut-wrenching. I read this post about how eeaao was about intergenerational trauma and depression, existentialism, passive suicidal idealisation and ageing and the immigrant experience and family and kindness and choice... Idk this film was really just wow
I've seen this movie three times and I cry just as hard each time. This movie is almost SUSPICIOUSLY good and epic. And I'm BLOWN AWAY that this movie had fewer than ten VFX people working on it and they were trying new things rather than things they were all experts on. This movie is really proof that any insane story can work if it has heart and the right people working together.

After giving this movie time,... Eric's right, this is one of the best movie ever produced and fills me with so much joy, hope, sadness and seemingly every other feeling within it's run time, I truly adore it. I've cried upon rewatch of it and also every time I watch a reaction video on it, it's a straight up masterpiece of film.
Eric totally represented me😂 I went into this movie knowing that it would at least be good but then I was just flabbergasted. I laughed, cried and questioned everything throughout this movie.

Holy shit I teared up/cried like 5 times during the full length reaction
I am absolutely with Eric and Calvin on this one. The first time I watched this, it felt like it was too good to be true, I kept looking around at my friends like “are you seeing this??? Is this real???”. I think it defines our time and our generation (mine specifically) in such a spot on and deeply optimistic way. “Be kind, especially when you don’t know what’s going on” is such an important theme right now. Existential dread and nihilism are so easy to fall into in this world that makes no sense and seems to be getting increasingly more chaotic and hard to live in. This movie gave me a feeling of hope and like, peace, that I haven’t felt in a LONG time. Add the themes of stopping generational trauma cycles, the incredible production, and the amazing cast, and you’ve got one of the greatest films of all time.
Ke Huy Quan and Michelle Yeoh deserved their Oscars so much for this film. I love Jamie Lee Curtis but i think if anyone won from this film its was Stephanie Hsu!! She was so amazing with her range and portralal of basically 2 different characters. However, i did initially think that it was Angela Bassett's Oscar to lose and sadly she did. I love Jamie Lee but as i said i really think if anyone was to win from this film over Angela it should have 100% been Stephanie 💯
It was so clear when she switched personalities within a scene, too. The next thing I've seen her in was "Joy Ride," where she disappears into a completely different personality again. She's got some serious talent and I hope that takes her far.

Agreed! As someone who doesn't go out to purposefully rewatch movies, I watched EEAAO in theatres 3 times within a month (first alone, second with family, third with a friend). And everytime i left the theatre i would want to watch it again!

Born in '51, I've been paying fairly close attention to movies for 60+ years and in production and concept this is the most astonishing work of film art I've seen.

the whole time this movie is playing, all i can think of is.. hey, this is exactly how my brain is if it’s visualised. to found out one of the director has ADHD. the fact that many people who reacted to this movie said it’s beautiful. just adds another sentimental value for me personally that maybe.. my brain is not that bad.

the glee and awe on eric and calvin’s face definitely was identical to the one i had in the theater watching it for the first time. i’ve seen it more times since then and-recency bias aside-it’s absolutely in my top five movies of all time and i’m certain it will stay there for a long time, if not forever. i haven’t felt this instant personal connection with a movie since knives out (yes this is a more technically spectacular movie than KO but it resonated with me in very similar ways), and knives out has been up there in my favorite movies list since it came out.

The two actors who fight against Michelle Yeoh over the butt plug are fight choreographers from Shang Chi. Stephanie Hsu who play the daughter is also from Shang Chi. She played the friend of Shaun and Katy in San Francisco.
All the shots of Eric's face must've been exactly how I looked in the theater. Multiple moments in this movie had me like practically ready to float out of my seat. This film really is something and I cannot stop watching other people watch it now lol.
I gotta agree "Stupid" is a checkbox. The Princess Bride, Galaxy Quest, and this are three perfect movies, and they all check the stupid box.

Watching this in a packed theater was such a magical experience. You could feel it in the air, everyone witnessing one of the greatest movies of all time together.

My favorite thing about the movie is the foil of the everything bagel versus the googly eye. They’re literally the reverse of each other- one black center/white surround (googly eye), one white center/black surround (everything bagel)- yin and yang! I haven’t heard anybody else comment on it, but it’s my own understanding of the symbolism between “nothing matters” and “nothing matters!”
